Parallel Planning:A New Motion Planning Framework for Autonomous Driving

Motion planning is one of the most significant technologies for autonomous driving. To make motion planning models able to learn from the environment and to deal with emergency situations, a new motion planning framework called as"parallel planning" is proposed in this paper. In order to generate sufficient and various training samples, artificial traffic scenes are firstly constructed based on the knowledge from the reality.A deep planning model which combines a convolutional neural network(CNN) with the Long Short-Term Memory module(LSTM) is developed to make planning decisions in an end-toend mode. This model can learn from both real and artificial traffic scenes and imitate the driving style of human ***, a parallel deep reinforcement learning approach is also presented to improve the robustness of planning model and reduce the error rate. To handle emergency situations, a hybrid generative model including a variational auto-encoder(VAE) and a generative adversarial network(GAN) is utilized to learn from virtual emergencies generated in artificial traffic scenes. While an autonomous vehicle is moving, the hybrid generative model generates multiple video clips in parallel, which correspond to different potential emergency scenarios. Simultaneously, the deep planning model makes planning decisions for both virtual and current real scenes. The final planning decision is determined by analysis of real observations. Leveraging the parallel planning approach, the planner is able to make rational decisions without heavy calculation burden when an emergency occurs.

Robot vision has greatly benefited from advancements in multimodal fusion techniques and vision-language models (VLMs). We systematically review the applications of multimodal fusion in key robotic vision tasks, including semantic scene understanding, simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM), 3D object detection, navigation and localization, and robot manipulation. We compare VLMs based on large language models (LLMs) with traditional multimodal fusion methods, analyzing their advantages, limitations, and synergies. Additionally, we conduct an in-depth analysis of commonly used datasets, evaluating their applicability and challenges in real-world robotic scenarios. Furthermore, we identify critical research challenges such as cross-modal alignment, efficient fusion strategies, real-time deployment, and domain adaptation, and propose future research directions, including self-supervised learning for robust multimodal representations, transformer-based fusion architectures, and scalable multimodal frameworks. Through a comprehensive review, comparative analysis, and forward-looking discussion, we provide a valuable reference for advancing multimodal perception and interaction in robotic vision. Renewable energy,such as wind and solar energy,may vary signifi cantly over time and locations depending on the weather and the climate *** leads to the supply uncertainty in the electricity(power) market with renewable energy integrated to power *** this paper,electricity in the market is classified into two types:stablesupply electricity(SSE) and unstablesupply electricity(USE).We investigate the investment and pricing strategies under the electricity supply uncertainty in wholesale and retail electricity *** particular,our model combines the wholesale and retail market and capture the dominant players,i.e.,consumers,power plant(power operator),and electricity *** derive the market behaviors of these players,we formulate the market decision problems as a multistage Stackelberg *** solving the game model,we obtain the optimal,with closedform,wholesale investment and retail pricing strategy for the *** also obtain the energy supplier's best price mechanism numerically under certain *** fi nd the price of SSE being about 1.4 times higher than that of USE will benefi t energy supplieroptimally,under which power plant's optimal strategy of investing is to purchase USE about 4.5 times much more than SSE.

A novel engineering model reduction method is proposed in this paper that can be applied to a chemical reaction network (CRN) with chains of linear reactions. The reduced model is a delayed CRN with possibly different delays but with less state variables than the original model. As the first step of the model reduction, a decomposition method is also developed to transform chains with joint reactions into independent chains of linear reactions. The well known example of McKeithan's network is used as a case study to illustrate the basic concepts and the design method. © 2018

In this paper,we present a twisting control scheme with proportional-integral-derivative(PID)sliding surface for a two-axis electrostatic torsional micromirror,and the utilization of the proposed scheme in a laser scanning *** experimental results of set-point regulation verify that the proposed scheme provides enhanced transient response and positioning performance as compared to traditional sliding mode *** evaluate the tracking performance of the closed-loop system,triangular waves with different frequencies are used as desired *** the proposed scheme the experimental results verified that the closed-loop controlled micromirror follows the given triangular trajectories precisely.A micromirror-based laser scanning system is developed to obtain *** compared with open-loop control,the experimental results demonstrated that the proposed scheme is able to reduce the distortion of the raster scan,and improve the imaging performance in the presence of cross-coupling effect.

In the current paper is proposed an approach for identification of yogurt according to its butter content, based on the methods for recognition of images with receiving of initial information by ultrasound. There are results presented from the made research regarding the ability for synthesis of symptoms for classification by means of discrete wavelet transformation. Classifiers are synthesized with the method "K-nearest-neighbors" (KNN) and are tested with independent control sample. It is realized a classification of yogurt with butter content 1, 2, 3, 3.6 and 5% with accuracy above 94%. © 2009 ACM.

Industrial alarm systems facilitate the reliable and effective management of industrial process operations. However, the manufacturer’s fear of missing a critical fault or lacking process understanding may lead to the implementation of alarm systems that overburden operators by an enormous amount of alarms. Inadequate alarm settings and maintenance, coupled with a high volume of disturbance alarms, necessitate operators making crucial decisions within a limited time. Thus, an alarm management strategy that accurately anticipates the types of incoming alarms is needed, especially in brownfield systems where it is infeasible to simplify the underlying alarming functions. This alleviates the need for human interpretation of alarms upon arrival, allowing operators to address anomalous behaviors early. This study proposes an alarm classification approach, based on active learning, latent dirichlet allocation (LDA) topic modeling and transformer-based deep learning. It focuses on addressing these challenges through a systematic natural language processing (NLP) approach to classify and map fault messages. To demonstrate the validity of this approach, real-world alarm data from an industrial hybrid non-woven manufacturing process is used. © 2024 IEEE.

Due to the geographical distribution, different cognitive capacity, and different domain competency of workers or learners, many misunderstandings can occur during distributed remote collaboration, leading to inefficient discussions and undesired results. To make remote collaboration more efficient and dependable, enriching cyberspace through adaptively utilizing is proposed and evaluated. This assesses situations of remote users through information fusion of multiple biological sensors and the related contexts such as user profiles. Transmitting and using such information, the system adaptively supports the distributed remote collaboration by stressing, warning, and presenting keywords/summaries in multimedia. Effects of presenting keywords/summaries adaptively depending on situations are evaluated as to the decrease of not-/misunderstanding possibilities during the explanation on the Cyberspace. Moreover, the adaptive selection effects of keywords or summaries presentation depending on cognitive profiles of remote members are also evaluated. These evaluations demonstrate the feasibility and usefulness of the proposed method. © 2010 IEEE.
