The -model expansion approach for solving the (2+1)-dimensional NLSE with Kerr law nonlinearity and STD with multiplicative white noise in birefringent fibers

With incorporating of multiplicative white noise, we assess the Itô-coupled NLSE and STD in two and one dimensions with Kerr law nonlinearity and birefringent fibers. Light dynamics in birefringent fibers, including the propagation of soliton waves, the instability of modulation, and the occurrence of stochastic events, all have a connection to this issue. The study aims to facilitate in the growth of fiber lasers, benefiting fields such as in the fields of material processing, medicine, and communications. To achieve this, the $$\Phi ^{6}$$ -model approach to expansion is adopted. In addition to Jacobi-elliptic solutions, this work’s analysis also yields dark solitons, bright solitons, singular solitons, and periodic solutions. Because of such results, fiber laser systems in industries like manufacturing, medicine, and communications may be improved upon. The Jacobi-elliptic solution, as well as bright and dark solitons, may be seen in both one- and two-dimensional representations.

Many studies show that bearings are the most vulnerable components in low-voltage motors. While advanced bearing diagnostic systems exist, their cost can be a barrier for non-critical machinery due to the potential wait time to see a return on investment. This research explores the feasibility of using basic signal processing techniques on vibration data for bearing condition monitoring. The primary goal is to analyze benchmark data from the Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) dataset and establish a baseline performance for this data-driven approach. The results suggest that, with appropriate signal processing, it's possible to achieve early detection of bearing faults, leading to more efficient time-to-fault identification with higher detection accuracies ranging from 83 % to 100 % for each method.

Security challenges for cloud or fog-based machine learning services pose several concerns. Securing the underlying cloud or fog services is essential, as successful attacks against these services, on which machine learning applications rely, can lead to significant impairments of these applications. Because the requirements for Artificial Intelligence applications can also be different, we differentiate according to whether they are used in the cloud or in a fog computing network. This then also results in different threats or attack possibilities. For cloud platforms, the responsibility for security can be divided between different parties. Security deficiencies at a lower level can have a direct impact on the higher level where user data is stored. While responsibilities are simpler for fog computing networks, by moving services to the edge of the network, we have to secure them against physical access to the devices. We conclude by outlining specific information security requirements for Artificial Intelligence applications. Copyright © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Big Data in Agriculture and Ecological Analysis: Possibilities and Challenges The same capabilities that gave rise to the Internet and are revamping medicines are now being used as agriculture stands on the verge of a digitalization. In general, the cheap cost of gathering growth, together with data from temperature readings and data gathered by aircraft and satellites, is what is driving this digital agrarian economy. These technologies promise to generate more food with less resources, less land, less labor, and a lower environmental impact. The inability to gather and analyses data in a manner that produces usable farmers, as well as the need to teach farmers how to utilize such tools, are now obstacles to fulfilling this promise. The promise and obstacles to fulfilling to change agriculture are reviewed in this essay.

This article presents a miniaturized size Microstrip-patch sensor structure based on meander-line slot for water-quality and salinity measurement applications. The HFSS-software tool is employed to design and simulate the proposed sensor. The proposed sensor is printed on $60\times 50\times 1~mm^{3}$ a dielectric material of FR-4 type. The meander-line slot resonator is inserted in the patch-sensor for miniaturize with the sensitivity enhancement. In order to contain the water sample that wants to be tested, a receptacle with dimensions of $47.75\times 50\times 4~mm^{3}$ is mounted on the sensor structure. The receptacle is made from PTFE-Teflon dielectric material. The miniaturize sensor is noticed resonant at 2.74 GHz for unloaded-state. Furthermore, it’s found resonant at; 2.44 GHz, 2.49 GHz, and 2.5 GHz for DI-water, fresh-water and sea-water respectfully. The miniaturized-sensor is showed good sensing values that equals to 0.901 for DI-water, 0.751 for fresh-water, and 0.721 for Sea-water. Finally, a good agreement is showed between the measurement results and those from simulation.

Ant selection for updating the pheromone is one most crucial operation in ant colony optimization (ACO). In this direction, this paper designs an adaptive ant selection strategy (AAS) to adaptively and dynamically select ants to update the pheromone for ACO. Therefore, a new ACO, called AAS-ACO is developed. Specifically, AAS-ACO first assigns a non-linear selection probability to each ant based on its path ranking. As a result, better ants preserve exponentially higher selection probabilities. Then, based on the selection probabilities, ants are adaptively selected for the pheromone update. By this means, on the one hand, the number of ants involved in the pheromone update is uncertain;on the other hand, relatively better ants instead of absolutely better ones are adaptively selected to update the pheromone, leading to the promotion of search diversity. Subsequently, a dynamic weighting strategy is designed to adjust the amount of the pheromone deposited by the best ant in the current iteration to enhance the search convergence. With the two schemes, AAS-ACO is expected to maintain a suitable compromise between search diversity and search convergence to seek the optimal solutions to TSP. Experiments on 10 classical TSP instances varying from 100 to 1000 cities have proven the significant superiority of AAS-ACO to 5 classic ACOs, especially on high-dimensional TSP problems. © 2024 IEEE.

During the last few years, several real-life applications have attempted to utilize the proven high capabilities of artificial intelligence in general and machine learning in particular. Machine learning has been utilized in several domains, such as spam detection, image recognition, recommendation systems, self-driving cars, and medical diagnosis. This paper aims to survey the most related work of utilizing machine learning in the domain of medical diagnosis. Moreover, the paper proposes a comparative analysis for identifying and determining the best classification model and feature selection method in mind of handling medical datasets. Hence, four different medical datasets have been used to train twenty-three classification models and four well-known feature selection methods with respect to several evaluation metrics such as Accuracy, True Positive ratio, False Positive ratio, Precision, and Recall. The results reveal that RandomForest, J48, and SMO classifiers are the best classifiers when it comes to handling medical datasets respectively. Furthermore, the Gain Ratio method is the best choice for handling the step of feature selection.

Education, healthcare, poverty, and equity are just some of the social problems in which XR researchers leverage augmented reality, virtual reality, and mixed reality to create novel solutions. In this workshop proposal, we intend on gathering XR researchers who are interested in making a positive impact with their research, and to use this opportunity to discuss leveraging unique affordances of XR technology and common challenges. In our motivation, we refer to recent human computer interaction gatherings that discuss applications of XR to social benefit. Then, we present a background of research across XR technologies and diverse social problems to illustrate example affordances and challenges. To attend the workshop, attendees will submit a position paper on a particular XR affordances and how it can help address a social problem, and optionally submit a demo artifact as a sample for group discussion. The workshop will include a keynote, discussion based activities and demos, and conclude with a speculative exercise, where attendees will work together to describe XR technology in the context of an ethical future. © 2025 Copyright held by the owner/author(s).

This study focuses on using books in libraries as an interactive medium, aiming to help individuals with social anxiety disorder alleviate their anxiety and establish positive social experiences. The research background and literature review explore the relationship between social anxiety disorder and books, utilizing narrative frameworks and mirroring psychotherapy techniques to design an experience related to books, book reviews, and social experiences. Through case studies, needs exploration, scenario mapping systems, and interactive process design, we provide an innovative approach for individuals with social anxiety disorder who desire socialization, allowing them to find like-minded partners and engage in social interactions with reduced anxiety interference. Micro-grids function to connect to power system power produced by the renewable energy resources. In islanded micro-grids, grid-forming units collaborate to maintain the micro-grids voltage and frequency by utilizing droop control technique that includes primary, secondary and tertiary levels. Secondary control intervenes to improve power sharing and restore voltage and frequency to their nominal levels. However, the conventional droop control applied to a grid with mismatched line parameters experiences a trade-off between reactive power sharing and voltage regulations. This paper applies real-time trajectory tracking convex optimization to ensure by communicating power sharing between units in a consensus topology. The optimization function is designed with local frequency and voltage constraints to maintain the frequency at its nominal value and ensure the voltage remains within a 5% tolerance range.. The proposed controller maintains power sharing among all units at the global consensus average value with constraints to within the limits. When the voltage limit is reached, the reactive power automatically deviates from the agreed global average in an optimal manner. The performance of the controller is shown using MATLAB/SIMULINK for different control parameters. The performance is compared to centralized-based topology. Finally, the controller is tested for grids with different line-parameters mismatches. The results show the reactive power sharing in an optimized manner. © 2020 IEEE.
