AI is promising in assisting UX evaluators with analyzing usability tests, but its judgments are typically presented as non-interactive visualizations. Evaluators may have questions about test recordings, but have no way of asking them. Interactive conversational assistants provide a Q&A dynamic that may improve analysis efficiency and evaluator autonomy. To understand the full range of analysis-related questions, we conducted a Wizard-of-Oz design probe study with 20 participants who interacted with simulated AI assistants via text or voice. We found that participants asked for five categories of information: user actions, user mental model, help from the AI assistant, product and task information, and user demographics. Those who used the text assistant asked more questions, but the question lengths were similar. The text assistant was perceived as significantly more efficient, but both were rated equally in satisfaction and trust. As CMOS scaling approaches its fundamental limits, the explosive rise of AI and LLMs has unveiled profound bottlenecks in computing architectures. This paper presents two groundbreaking paradigms poised to reshape the landscape of high-performance computing and meet the surging demands of AI-driven workloads. The first paradigm is 3D monolithic integration, a revolutionary approach that achieves unprecedented logic density through Complementary FETs (CFETs), where pMOS and nMOS transistors are vertically stacked, and a dramatic expansion of on-chip memory capacity by integrating memory layers atop logic transistors. The second paradigm leverages the transformative potential of operating chips at cryogenic temperatures where transistors exhibit enhanced performance, and parasitic resistances are substantially minimized. These advancements hold the promise of redefining computing efficiency and performance for the AI era.

In the modern era of information explosion, where there is enormous information including thousands and millions of texts loaded on the Internet of over 1.2 million terabytes, there are no accurate statistics on the size of texts within this huge amount of data. Given the multiplicity of websites on the Internet and the spread of social networking services like Twitter, for example, it is stated that about 6000 tweets are posted per second in the year 2019. This work aims to analyze these texts through resorting to artificial intelligence to help solve this problem. In this article, a review is presented on the latest concepts in the field of word processing, information extraction, and implementing an interface for text analysis using the C ++ programming language and Visual Studio 2015 edition. A comparison is made between two articles in terms of the number of verbs, prepositions, article strength, number of letters, with the possibility of sorting the text into verbs, nouns, object, and adjectives, as will be displayed in the program interface.

The fifth generation(5G) wireless communication networks are being deployed worldwide from 2020 and more capabilities are in the process of being standardized, such as mass connectivity, ultra-reliability,and guaranteed low latency. However, 5G will not meet all requirements of the future in 2030 and beyond, and sixth generation(6G) wireless communication networks are expected to provide global coverage, enhanced spectral/energy/cost efficiency, better intelligence level and security, etc. To meet these requirements, 6G networks will rely on new enabling technologies, i.e., air interface and transmission technologies and novel network architecture, such as waveform design, multiple access, channel coding schemes, multi-antenna technologies, network slicing, cell-free architecture, and cloud/fog/edge computing. Our vision on 6G is that it will have four new paradigm shifts. First, to satisfy the requirement of global coverage, 6G will not be limited to terrestrial communication networks, which will need to be complemented with non-terrestrial networks such as satellite and unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV) communication networks, thus achieving a space-airground-sea integrated communication network. Second, all spectra will be fully explored to further increase data rates and connection density, including the sub-6GHz, millimeter wave(mmWave), terahertz(THz),and optical frequency bands. Third, facing the big datasets generated by the use of extremely heterogeneous networks, diverse communication scenarios, large numbers of antennas, wide bandwidths, and new service requirements, 6G networks will enable a new range of smart applications with the aid of artificial intelligence(AI) and big data technologies. Fourth, network security will have to be strengthened when developing 6G networks. This article provides a comprehensive survey of recent advances and future trends in these four aspects. Recommendation systems combining Graph Neural Networks and Knowledge Graphs have been successfully applied in various domains. However, most existing approaches only consider one-to-one or one-to-many user-item interactions and cannot cater to many-to-many recommendation scenarios, such as providing prescriptions based on clinical diagnosis and medical history. Providing such a recommendation requires considering the implicit interaction within input user features as well as output candidates. In this paper, we propose a two-stage knowledge graph attention aggregation mechanism that helps recommend drug combinations for a patient based on his conditions. First, a disease-drug interaction graph is constructed and integrated with the medical domain knowledge, forming a collaborative knowledge graph. Secondly, an intra-feature attention aggregation is performed to obtain the representations of diseases and drugs based on drug-drug and disease-disease interactions, respectively. Thirdly, an inter-feature attention aggregation is performed using the disease-drug interaction to better represent a user's condition. Finally, the user's condition representation is concatenated with other user features to generate the final user representation for the prescription recommendation. Experiments with realistic datasets show that our approach can outperform existing recommendation systems by 4.3% and 6.1% in precision and recall, respectively. © 2022 ACM.

BPCoach: Exploring Hero Drafting in Professional MOBA Tournaments via Visual Analytics

Hero drafting for multiplayer online arena (MOBA) games is crucial because drafting directly affects the outcome of a match. Both sides take turns to "ban"/"pick" a hero from a roster of approximately 100 heroes to assemble their drafting. In professional tournaments, the process becomes more complex as teams are not allowed to pick heroes used in the previous rounds with the "best-of-N" rule. Additionally, human factors including the team’s familiarity with drafting and play styles are overlooked by previous studies. Meanwhile, the huge impact of patch iteration on drafting strengths in the professional tournament is of concern. To this end, we propose a visual analytics system, BPCoach, to facilitate hero drafting planning by comparing various drafting through recommendations and predictions and distilling relevant human and in-game factors. Two case studies, expert feedback, and a user study suggest that BPCoach helps determine hero drafting in a rounded and efficient manner. © 2023, CC BY.

This paper considers one problem of automated proving of MTP inequalities f(x) > 0 over [0, π/2] on boundary points. It suggests one algorithm for symbolic checking for f(0) = 0 or f(π/2) = 0 without use of numerical estimations. To enhance the performance and effect of AR/VR applications and visual assistance and inspection systems, visual simultaneous localization and mapping (vSLAM) is a fundamental task in computer vision and robotics. However, traditional vSLAM systems are limited by the camera’s narrow field-of-view, resulting in challenges such as sparse feature distribution and lack of dense depth information. To overcome these limitations, this paper proposes a 360ORB-SLAM system for panoramic images that combines with a depth completion network. The system extracts feature points from the panoramic image, utilizes a panoramic triangulation module to generate sparse depth information, and employs a depth completion network to obtain a dense panoramic depth map. Experimental results on our novel panoramic dataset constructed based on Carla demonstrate that the proposed method achieves superior scale accuracy compared to existing monocular SLAM methods and effectively addresses the challenges of feature association and scale ambiguity. The integration of the depth completion network enhances system stability and mitigates the impact of dynamic elements on SLAM performance. Copyright © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Silicon Dangling Bonds (SiDBs) constitute a beyond-CMOS computational nanotechnology platform that enables higher integration density and lower power consumption than contemporary CMOS nodes. Recent manufacturing breakthroughs in the domain sparked the interest of academia and industry alike in the race for a green computation future at the nanoscale. However, as the fabrication of SiDBs requires atomic precision, SiDB logic systems are inherently susceptible to environmental defects and material variations, which inevitably occur. The Operational Domain is a methodology to evaluate the resilience of SiDB logic against physical parameter variations. However, state-of-the-art implementations require a quadratic number of exponentially complex physical simulator calls to assess the operational domain. This paper presents two novel algorithms to obtain operational domains in an efficient fashion: one based on flood fill, and one based on contour tracing. Experimental evaluations confirm that they reduce the number of required simulator calls by 70.87% and 95.29 %, respectively. Particularly contour tracing achieves the shift from a quadratic to a linear relation, thereby reducing the complexity and paving the way for realizing reliable SiDB-based computing systems.

Resource optimization models effectively streamline allocations, minimizing waste and ensuring consistent resource availability. Furthermore, real-time performance monitoring provides project managers with actionable insights, improving responsiveness to emerging challenges and contributing to reliable projects. While these methods demonstrate significant advantages, the study identifies challenges related to technical expertise and data requirements, which may limit AI implementation. The findings underscore AI's role in supporting complex project decisions, suggesting that further research could expand its applicability and establish ethical guidelines for its use in decision-making frameworks.
