This paper deals with the robust semi-global leader-following consensus problem for a linear multi-agent system with imperfect *** actuators of the follower agents have imperfect input output characteristics,such as those of saturation and dead-zone,and those characteristics are not precisely *** agents are also subject to input additive disturbances.A low-and-high gain based linear state feedback control law is constructed for each follower *** is shown that these control laws achieve robust semi-global leader-following consensus when the graph representing the communication topology among the followers is undirected and connected and the leader is a neighbor of at least one *** simulation illustrates the theoretical results.

Analogical China map constructed by single-stranded DNA tiles assembly

In the past nearly two decades, DNA self-assembly technology as a promising technology, a body of laboratory work has been emerged in an endless stream. Single-stranded DNA tile (SST) assembly provides a simple, modular and robust framework for constructing nanostructures with prescribed shapes from short synthetic DNA strands. In this research, we present a nanoscale DNA structure of analogical China map which is constructed by a number of SSTs, and label streptavidin in the capital beijing location. The constructing nanostructure is roughly 98 nm×67 nm in diameter with a spatial resolution of 3 nm×7 nm. The pattern appeared in atomic force microscopy (AFM) conforms to the pre-designed shape of Chinese map with the approximately expected dimensions, and AFM images of the field selected randomly from the mica give an 11% assembly yield. Through this research, the capability of constructing complicated two-dimensional shapes by SST and the controllability of the internal array are fully vindicated. Dynamic Coverage with Wireless Sensor and Actor Networks in Underwater Environment

This paper studies the problem of dynamic coverage with wireless sensor and actor networks (WSANs) in underwater environment. Different from most existing works, the WSANs consist of two kinds of nodes, i.e., sensor nodes (SNs) which cannot move autonomously and actor nodes (ANs) which can move autonomously according to the performance requirement. The problem of how to coordinate two kinds of nodes to facilitate dynamic coverage in underwater environment is challenging due to their heterogeneous capabilities. To reduce redundancy of communication links and improve connectivity between ANs and SNs in underwater WSANs, a min-weighted rigid graph based topology optimization scheme is first developed, such that the underwater communication energy consumption can be saved. With the optimized topology, a dynamic coverage strategy is proposed to improve the coverage among SNs and ANs for underwater WSAN where underwater fluid motions are considered. Furthermore, it is proved that the network coverage area is connected by using the min-weighted rigid graph. Finally, simulation results are presented to show the effectiveness of the main results. © 2014 Chinese Association of Automation.

Dual-Tone Radio Interferometric Positioning systems for Multi-Target Localization Using a Single Mobile Anchor

In this paper, a low-cost dualtone radio interferometric positioning system using a single mobile anchor is proposed to locate multiple targets at the same time. We name it mDRIPS. In mDRIPS, each target continuously transmits a dual-tone signal with its dedicated frequencies, and the mobile anchor receives the signals at different positions along its trajectory, Neither time synchronization between the mobile anchor and the targets nor time synchronization among the targets is required. We take the instability of targets clocks into consideration and develop an ESPRIT-type algorithm to estimate frequencies of each dual-tone signal. Furthermore, the time of arrival （TOA） of each target signal is extracted from the phase estimates of the received dual-tone signals. After measuring several TOAs at different locations along the anchor＇s trajectory, each target can be located. Since the frequency difference of the two tones of each dualtone signal is designed to be smaller than the channel coherence bandwidth, the same fading effect on these two tones can be eliminated. Moreover, the integer ambiguity problem due to phase wrapping is investigated, and a localization algorithm to deal with a simplified ambiguity problem is proposed. Numerical results demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed mDRIPS.

This paper proposes an explicit adaptive algorithm to solve the problem of heterogeneous dynamic synchronization of multi-agent uncertain systems. Different from the existing works, the proposed algorithm depends on less control parameters and achieves zero synchronization error between the agents of heterogeneous uncertain dynamic networks and virtual target. By introducing appropriate assumptions, a class of explicit adaptive synchronization protocols is designed based on a combination of the virtual target's states, distributed feedback gain, and the limited neighboring agents' information. By using Lyapunov function approach, it is proved that the explicit adaptive synchronization problem of closed-loop multi-agent uncertain systems with heterogeneous dynamic networks can be solved, if the control parameters of the explicit adaptive synchronization algorithm are suitably selected. Finally, an example is given to demonstrate the proposed theory.

In this paper, we consider a simple model of distributed sensor fusion problem in sensor networks with asymmetric links, where the common goal is linear parameter estimation. For the realistic scenario of bandwidth-constrained networks, we propose a least square approach, based on distributed quantized consensus algorithms, to compute the ideal centralized sample mean estimate. Analytical results show that the proposed approach is effective in smearing out the quantization errors, and outperforms the centralized approaches with respect to the estimation performance. Simulation results are provided to validate the analytical results.

SU（1,1） dynamical symmetry is of fundamental importance in analyzing unbounded quantum systems in theoretical and applied physics. In this paper, we study the control of generalized coherent states associated with quantum systems with SU（1,1） dynamical symmetry. Based on a pseudo Riemannian metric on the SU（1,1） group, we obtain necessary conditions for minimizing the field fluence of controls that steer the system to the desired final state. Further analyses show that the candidate optimal control solutions can be classified into normal and abnormal extremals. The abnormal extremals can only be constant functions when the control Hamiltonian is non-parabolic, while the normal extremals can be expressed by Weierstrass elliptic functions according to the parabolicity of the control Hamiltonian. As a special case, the optimal control solution that maximally squeezes a generalized coherent state is a sinusoidal field, which is consistent with what is used in the laboratory.

Target detection and recognition in SAR imagery based on KFDA

Current research on target detection and recognition from synthetic aperture radar （SAR） images is usually carried out separately. It is difficult to verify the ability of a target recognition algorithm for adapting to changes in the environment. To realize the whole process of SAR automatic target recognition （ATR）, es- pecially for the detection and recognition of vehicles, an algorithm based on kernel fisher discdminant analysis （KFDA） is proposed. First, in order to make a better description of the difference be- tween the background and the target, KFDA is extended to the detection part. Image samples are obtained with a dual-window approach and features of the inner and outer window samples are extracted by using KFDA. The difference between the features of inner and outer window samples is compared with a threshold to determine whether a vehicle exists. Second, for the target area, we propose an improved KFDA-IMED （image Euclidean distance） combined with a support vector machine （SVM） to recognize the vehicles. Experimental results validate the performance of our method. On the detection task, our proposed method obtains not only a high detection rate but also a low false alarm rate without using any prior information. For the recognition task, our method overcomes the SAR image aspect angle sensitivity, reduces the requirements for image preprocessing and improves the recogni- tion rate.
