Named Data networking (NDN) is one of the future Internet architectures and can support smart home very well. There is a large amount of private data with lower security level in smart home. Access control is an effective security solution. However, the existing NDN’s access control mechanisms that can be applied to smart homes don’t reasonably use the cache in NDN and take into account users’ authorization cancellation phase. Therefore, we designed an access control mechanism for smart homes in NDN. We mainly consider the process of the user requests permission, user requests data and user permission cancellation. By using the Cipher Block Chaining (CBC) symmetric encryption algorithm, identity-based encryption, and proxy re-encryption, the cache in NDN is effectively utilized, and the counting Bloom Filter is used to filter ineffective Interest packets and complete the user’s privilege cancellation phase. Experimental results show that the access control mechanism designed in this paper can effectively reduce the total time which starts from user requests the permission to decrypt data and reduce the time overhead of the NDN routers in the process of user privileges cancellation after using the counting Bloom Filter. © 2019, ICST Institute for computer Sciences, Social Informatics and Telecommunications Engineering.

Jointly Optimizing the Energy and Time for Multi-UAV 3-D Coverage of Terrestrial Regions

Multi-rotor unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) have been widely employed in various sensing tasks, e.g., environmental monitoring and disaster rescuing, many of which often require full coverage of terrestrial regions by UAVs. Efforts have been devoted to minimizing one of two objectives, i.e., energy consumptions and time costs of UAVs fulfilling such tasks, whereas it is still challenging to jointly optimize both objectives due to their complicated interdependent relationship. Therefore, this paper deals with the tasks of sensing terrestrial regions with multiple UAVs, and focuses on the three-dimensional (3-D) coverage problem by formulating a multi-objective optimization problem of jointly minimizing both objectives. Specifically, in order to optimize energy consumption effectively, an advanced closed-form energy consumption model for multi-rotor UAVs is developed based on a rigorous theoretical analysis by introducing the influences of torque and acceleration, which are often ignored by existing heuristic models. Moreover, considering the NP-hardness of the problem, an innovative swarm intelligence optimization framework is established by leveraging a multitasking learning pattern to exploit cross-task knowledge transfer and adopting an improved multi-objective salp swarm algorithm. Therein, two novel operators, i.e., a variable characteristic-guided hybrid solution initialization operator and a large-scale search-space-oriented multi-mechanism solution update operator, are designed to handle continuous, discrete and even high-dimensional variables involved. Real-world experiments validate the proposed energy model due to the reduction of power consumption estimation error by up to 59% compared to baselines, and besides, extensive simulations demonstrate that the proposed algorithm significantly outperforms the benchmarks in terms of both energy consumptions and time costs. © 2002-2012 IEEE.

Named Data networking (NDN) is a new revolutionary network architecture and a research hotspot of next generation Internet. As a key candidate technology for 5G, D2D communication technology has attracted much attention. Data sharing is the main application of D2D communication, and data transmission is the core of data sharing. At present, there are few researches on D2D data transmission in NDN data sharing. The researches mainly focus on dataset synchronization and distributed file transmission. In addition, the existing data sharing protocol in NDN shows lower efficiency when directly applied to D2D data transmission. According to the main factors that affect the efficiency of data transmission in D-ChronoChat running in NDN, we design three optimized D2D data transmission protocols, and implement the prototype system. In order to evaluate the performance of each protocol and the main factors affecting the performance, we test the transmission delay of each protocol. The test results show that the Multi Threads Batch Packets (MTBP) protocol shows the best performance among the three optimized data transmission protocols. In MTBP, the data transmission rate can reach 6Mbps, nearly 7.4 times higher than the Single Thread Individual Packet protocol (STIP) in D-ChronoChat.

The Student Electronic Archives Management System (SEAMS) is one of the core systems used to carry out student work in colleges and universities. In recent years, with the increasing scale of Chinese universities, the existing SEAMS cannot handle the increased number of visits in their high-concurrency environments because of their outdated architecture. This paper analyzed the reasons and influences of the poor performance of the existing SEAMS, as well as the requirements of the SEAMS in colleges and universities and put forward a new SEAMS which works well in high-concurrency environments. The hybrid database and message queuing mechanism are used in the system to realize a high-performance and flexible SEAMS. The test results show that the efficiency improves significantly compared to single database and threaded system with request per second (RPS) above 9000.

This paper proposes and implements a DTN (Delay Tolerant Network) communication protocol based on IPv6 for data transmission in remote areas. In the protocol, the proxy sends the obtained resource information and resource list to the mobile client node in the form of DTN, and the mobile client node also sends the subscription information generated by itself to the proxy node. Therefore, DTN communication between the proxy and the mobile client is realized. © 2019 IEEE.

In recent years, as image data are widely used in data analysis tasks, the problem of privacy disclosure is becoming more and more serious. However, the privacy protection technology of image data is still immature. In this paper, we propose a privacy protection framework named dp-WGAN for image data. This framework uses differential privacy and generative adversarial network to train a generative model with privacy protection function. Using this generative model, synthetic data with similar characteristics to sensitive data can be obtained, and synthetic data is published instead sensitive data to complete all kinds of data analysis tasks. Through extensive empirical evaluation on benchmark datasets, we demonstrate that dp-WGAN can provide strong privacy protection for sensitive data and produce high-quality synthetic data.

With the development of wireless Sensor Network (WSN), the number of Internet of Things (IoT) services has increased dramatically. In order to use IoT services conveniently, it has become a key issue to reasonably aggregate information, content and applications, and filter services according to users’ needs. Most of the existing service selection algorithms adopt heuristic search algorithm or Genetic Algorithm (GA). The heuristic algorithm is not stable, and GA cannot meet the needs of service selection because of the one-dimensional chromosome coding. For overcoming the disadvantages of these methods, this paper proposes a multi-objective service selection algorithm based on Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) for Quality of Experience(QoE) restrictions. The proposed method can get a feasible solution quickly and efficiently by utilizing the fast convergence speed of ACO. Specifically, QoE model was established firstly, and relevant constraints and quantitative methods are given. Secondly, a service selection model based on ACO was constructed to select specific services based on the above model. Finally, the proposed method is verified through simulations. Results show that, compared with GA-based method, the proposed algorithm can improve the recall rate and precision rate, and has a higher algorithm efficiency in solving the service selection problems. © 2019, ICST Institute for computer Sciences, Social Informatics and Telecommunications Engineering.

Crowdsensing has been integrated into many aspects of human life. Compared with the general mode of perception which need to arrange a large number of sensors in advance, crowdsensing uses the idea of crowdsourcing to distribute tasks to participants carrying mobile sensing devices with them, which can save the cost of deploying sensing nodes. Therefore, how to make people actively participate in perception has become a hot issue. The existing incentives mainly include bonus incentives, game entertainment incentives, and social relationship incentives. This paper proposes a reverse auction incentive mechanism based on the participant’s behavior. Specifically, we analyze the user’s behavior and build a model of participant competency assessment firstly;then, according to the above analysis, each user is scored and the reward is distributed using the improved reverse auction algorithm. With the rapid development of the Internet, the combination of outsourcing and Internet has produced an overturning mode for labor cooperation – crowdsourcing. Crowdsourcing outsource the work that used to be done by internal staffs of a company or organization to non-specific people in a free and voluntary way, which concentrates the wisdom of public to solve difficult problems, greatly optimizes the rational allocation of human resources and thus improves the social productivity. In the environment of crowdsourcing market, how to set an "appropriate" price to recruit workers to complete a given task at a reasonable quality and cost is a key problem which restricts the development of it. Therefore, this paper proposes a posted pricing method based on the Random Forests (RF) algorithm in crowdsourcing market. The proposed mechanism is described theoretically and the actual crowdsourcing date is acquired from Taskcn by python spider firstly. Then, based on these empirical data, serval typical machine learning methods have been compared, which proves that RF is a very suitable method for posted pricing in crowdsourcing market. Finally, extensive experiments have been conducted and analysed for optimizing the parameters in RF and a set of parameters suitable for posted pricing in crowdsourcing is given to construct the corresponding RF model. © 2019, ICST Institute for computer Sciences, Social Informatics and Telecommunications Engineering.

Medical expert system not only has a lot of medical professional knowledge, but also has inference ability. The inference engine is not only one of the cores of the expert system, but also the key to designing the expert system. We focus on inference engine. In order to improve the diagnostic accuracy of medical diagnostic expert system, we propose the Group Decision Making (GDM) medical diagnosis expert system based on the Standardized Euclidean Distance-Jaccard Distance (SED-JD) algorithm. The mainly research content of inference engine is similarity measurement algorithm (that is SED-JD) and inference engine rule scheme (that is GDM). In order to get more accurate diagnosis, data preprocessing was performed before our experiments. In the design of inference engine, the selection of the Group Decision Making Objects (GDMOs) depends on the maximum similarity distance (MaxDist). The final decision result depends on the average similarity distance of each subgroup. By comparing the similarity scheme and GDM scheme, the experimental results show that GDM scheme is more effective and accurate. By comparing the Standardized Euclidean Distance (SED) algorithm, the Jaccard Distance (JD) algorithm and SED-JD algorithm, the experimental results show that SED-JD algorithm is more accurate. © 2019, ICST Institute for computer Sciences, Social Informatics and Telecommunications Engineering.
