In the digital age, the advancement of autonomous vehicles is currently extremely quick. The invention and development of retinomorphic sensors lend credence to this. This sensor’s ability to function similarly to the human eye makes it handy for detecting the presence of objects in front of the sensor. It is necessary to use a tool known as an LED controller to test this sensor. To evaluate the voltage regulation on the LED controller both mechanically and digitally, this research will explore, design, and construct an LED controller. The LED Controller has voltage adjustment capabilities between 1.2 and 25 volts. However, the highest power the LED can withstand is somewhere between 15 and 16 volts. As a result, 16 Volts should be set as the input limit value in the microcontroller program.

In recent years, with the increase in the number of dogs, paralysis of the lower limbs due to herniated discs in dogs has become a problem. There is no fundamental cure for this condition, and the main treatment is physical therapy. Usually, these dogs need physical therapy with a physical therapist every day, but it's not realistic. Therefore, it is required that the owner be effective rehabilitation at home. However, quantitative evaluation methods have not been established for physiotherapy because physiotherapy is performed by veterinarians based on their experience. In this paper, we proposes a musculoskeletal model of the dog's lower limb to analyze the dynamics of rehabilitation movements and confirm its validity by comparing the muscular activity obtained from the model with the measured EMG data. Using proposed model, we performed a simulation experiment to discuss the relationship between the timing of the input force and muscular activity by changing the timing of the input force. From the data obtained in the experiment, we investigated the relationship between the timing of the input force and the muscular activity and clarify how to input a support force for the physical therapy. © 2023 IEEE.

Private and public sector organizations are realizing significant and lasting economic and social value through the adoption of design (Sheppard et al. in The business value of design. McKinsey & Company (2018), [1]);(2015 dmi: Design value index results and commentary—design management institute (2015), [2]);(Brown in Design thinking. Harvard Business Review, [3, 4]). As such, projects and initiatives that are design focused are increasingly being undertaken by businesses and governments. However, there is only a nascent understanding of how the impact of design should be measured. A comprehensive framework has been developed and tested with businesses and the government of Singapore to measure the outcomes of their designs. The framework consists of four impact areas—enabling economic transformation, raising quality of life, advancing brand and culture, and making ground-breaking achievements in design. The design impact framework considers different types of impact and shows that while certain types of "impact" can be quantified, we also now have other ways for measuring impact and widening its definition. The design impact framework provides a basis and common language for discussing designs across disciplines and scale. The framework and tool jointly create a comprehensive and robust structure that may assist designers and organizations communicate their designs more effectively. © 2021, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

The cost of the purification process hinders the extensive use of cytosine phosphate guanosine-oligodeoxynucleotides (CpG-ODNs) for shrimp culture. Therefore, this study used a shuttle vector plasmid to carry 60 copies of CpG-ODN 1668 (pAD43-25_60CpG), which can replicate in Escherichia coli and Bacillus subtilis strain RIK1285. The first experiment used a reverse gavage procedure to deliver a substance (PBS [CK], pAD43-25 [P0], and pAD43-25_60CpG [P60], respectively) directly into the anterior midgut of Penaeus vannamei and transcriptome sequence analysis with a reference genome was performed to examine the expression of well-known immune-related genes. The results showed that the expression levels of immune-related genes in P60 group were significantly increased, particularly those associated with AMPs. In addition, using RT‒qPCR, the expression levels of AMP genes (LvALF, LvPEN-2, and LvPEN-3) in the P60 group may vary depending on the tissue and time point. The second experiment used dietary supplementation with three kinds of heat-killed B. subtilis (HKBS, HKBS-P0, and HKBS-P60) in 28 days of feeding experiments. The results showed that dietary supplementation with HKBS-P60 did not significantly improve shrimp growth performance and survival. However, on days 14 and 28 of the feeding regimens, alkaline phosphatase (AKP) and acid phosphatase (ACP) activity were considerably higher than in other treatments. In addition, following infection with Vibrio harveyi, AKP and ACP activity in the HKBS-P60 group was significantly higher than in other treatments, particularly at the early stage of bacterial infection. Moreover, HKBS-P60 was found to be better protected against V. harveyi infection with lower cumulative mortality (60%) compared to HKBS (90%) and HKBS-P0 (100%) at 7 days after infection. Overall, these findings confirmed that P60 could increase immunological responses in the shrimp midgut, and HKBS-P60 could be used as an effective tool to enhance the immune

Anaerobic fermentation for hydrogen production is influenced by various environmental factors that can limit microbial activity. However, machine learning (ML) shows significant potential in explaining the complexity of biological processes. This study focuses on the application of ML in predicting hydrogen production rates (HPR) during anaerobic fermentation of biomass energy. Grey relation analysis was employed to investigate the correlation between operational parameters and HPR. Five ML algorithms, namely decision tree (DT), random forest (RF), extreme gradient boosting (XGBoost), and K-nearest neighbor (KNN), were utilized in conjunction with operating conditions and digestate characteristics as features, with HPR as the target variable. The evaluation of the models was conducted using mean squared error (MSE) and R squared (R2). Notably, butyrate, oxidation-reduction potential (ORP), and volatile suspended solids (VSS) were identified as key factors influencing hydrogen production during sucrose anaerobic fermentation. Among the ML algorithms tested, XGBoost achieved the highest accuracy, with an R2 value of 0.91 and an MSE of 0.0052. © 2024 Hydrogen Energy Publications LLC

This research explores the application of deep learning techniques, specifically Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) and Recurrent Neural Networks (RNNs with LSTM), for robust Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) in real-world scenarios. The system effectively detects and recognizes license plates from images captured in real-world environments. By treating the character string recognition as a sequence labeling problem, the system achieves a high success rate of 97%. This research demonstrates the significant potential of deep learning in enhancing the accuracy and reliability of ANPR systems, enabling applications in intelligent transportation systems, traffic management, and law enforcement. © 2024 IEEE.

Drought stress exacerbated by climate change severely compromises crop productivity and global food security, particularly in maize-dependent regions. To mitigate drought stress, a method based on local maize varieties and field capacity management can be the appropriate solution. Field capacity (FC) defined as the maximum water content soil retains after drainage serves as a key parameter for drought stress evaluation. Therefore, this study aimed: (1) to investigate the effect of local varieties, FC, and the interactions on agrohistological, proline, and maize yield, and (2) to find drought-tolerant local varieties of maize crops at a specific FC. This study was carried out using a factorial Randomized Block Design. The first factor was selected local varieties from North Sumatra (BI-3, SB-5, DS-2, MN-3, and hybrids as a comparison), and the second factor was FC (20, 40, 60, 80, 100%). This study was repeated three replicates and conducted in farmers' fields from June to October 2023 in a modified greenhouse. The parameters were analyzed by ANOVA and continued with DMRT at 5% level through IBM SPSS. Heritability, drought tolerance index, and Pearson correlation analysis were calculated. The results showed that the local variety DS-2 (Deli Serdang) had a higher level of drought tolerance (0.595), as characterized by an increase in agrohistological, proline, and yield reaching 1,385.24 kg ha⁻¹. A 80% FC showed the lowest inhibition to agrohistological and proline, indicating the potential to be tolerated and support maize yield. The interaction of DS-2 with FC-80% had great potential to be applied to dryland. © The Author(s) 2025.

Bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cell(MSC)is one of the most actively studied cell types due to its regenerative potential and immunomodulatory *** cell expansion methods using 2D tissue culture plates and 2.5D microcarriers in bioreactors can generate large cell numbers,but they compromise stem cell potency and lack mechanical preconditioning to prepare MSC for physiological loading expected in *** overcome these challenges,in this work,we describe a 3D dynamic hydrogel using magneto-stimulation for direct MSC manufacturing to *** our technology,we found that dynamic mechanical stimulation(DMS)enhanced matrix-integrinβ1 interactions which induced MSCs spreading and *** addition,DMS could modulate MSC biofunctions including directing MSC differentiation into specific lineages and boosting paracrine activities(e.g.,growth factor secretion)through YAP nuclear localization and FAK-ERK *** our magnetic hydrogel,complex procedures from MSC manufacturing to final clinical use,can be integrated into one single platform,and we believe this‘all-in-one’technology could offer a paradigm shift to existing standards in MSC therapy.

This article proposes StrawberryTalk, an Internet of Things (IoT) platform for image-based strawberry disease detection. StrawberryTalk reuses the wall-mounted monitoring cameras without extra hardware cost. The contributions of StrawberryTalk are the utilization of IoT for automatic photo shoot and the wind detection mechanism to eliminate the obscure photos due to the wind effects. Also, the data preprocessing and the infection detection models are manipulated as IoT devices to simplify the implementation of the multicascade artificial intelligence (AI) models. We derive the relationship between the camera zoom factor and the distance between the camera and the strawberries for optimal disease detection. Accuracy of detection may be affected by obscure photos. In terms of eliminating obscure photos due to wind effect, we analytically derive the relationship between the wind alert delay and the number of obscure photos that must be retaken. For the greenhouses in the Bao Mountain, we only need to retake one photo. Based on the experiments, the mean average precision (mAP) of StrawberryTalk (to detect exact spots in a leaf) can be up to 92.37%, which is better than the previous approaches. To detect if a pot has infected leaves, the accuracy of StrawberryTalk can be up to 97.92% at the zoom factor 30×. In commercial operation, it is important to detect all infected strawberry pots. StrawberryTalk is able to detect all infected pots (i.e., recall is 100%) with a camera of zoom factor of 12× . The accuracy is 96.88%. © 2014 IEEE.

This study presents a hybrid model, STL-ARIMA-ES-LSTM, developed to improve the accuracy of Gross Primary Productivity (GPP) forecasts in the Amazon region. The model integrates seasonal and trend decomposition using Loess (STL) with statistical methods (ARIMA and Exponential Smoothing-ES) and a machine learning technique (Long Short-Term Memory - LSTM). Applied to GPP data from the PE-QFR site, the hybrid model achieved significantly better error metrics, with RMSE of 1.69 gC/m2/day, MAE of 1.35 gC/m2/day, and MAPE of 0.20%, compared to the standalone LSTM (RMSE of 2.16 gC/m2/day, MAE of 1.78 gC/m2/day, and MAPE of 0.27%). Furthermore, the hybrid model showed stronger agreement with the observed data, with correlation coefficient r =0.62 and R2 =0.39 , whereas the LSTM alone yielded r =0.26 and R2 = –0.002. The STL decomposition allowed effective separation of trend, seasonality, and residual components, enabling tailored modeling of each, which contributed to the improved predictive performance. These results demonstrate the advantage of hybrid approaches in capturing the nonlinear and seasonal patterns of GPP, supporting enhanced environmental monitoring and more informed climate change mitigation strategies in the Amazon. © 2013 IEEE.
