In this paper, the authors investigate the current state of the lighting design and control sector in Thailand's creative industry. The government aims to promote the creative industry as a key source of income, but there needs more skilled professionals in the industry. The authors have found that successful cases have used the Internet for remote controlling in the creative industry in other countries. Therefore, the paper will explore the potential of using technology to improve professional efficiency and assess the feasibility of implementing remote lighting control systems via the Internet with Thai lighting designers and lighting console operators. Data will be collected through qualitative in-depth interviews and quantitative surveys. The results have shown a promising acceptance rate of wireless devices for lighting control due to their mobility, flexibility, cost-effectiveness, and positive attitudes toward adopting Internet technology. The authors have also proposed a concept design for an internet-based control system tailored to Thai users, focusing on simplicity, ease of connection, and user-friendliness to accommodate those with limited network configuration knowledge. The proposed system aims to reduce professionals, save time, and increase convenience, leveraging Thailand's extensive wireless internet coverage. These systems could significantly benefit Thailand's creative industry by addressing the shortage of skilled professionals and improving efficiency. © 2024 IEEE.

In recent years, our country attaches great importance to the development of rail transit, Urban rail transit system has become one of the most important ways of travel in people's life. Therefore, it is of great theoretical and practical significance to analyze the energy consumption of rail transit, and give energy saving and emission reduction measures according to the results. This paper first studies and summarizes the relevant concepts and prediction methods in the energy consumption prediction field of urban rail operation, and finds that the technical effect of BP neural network is good and relatively common. Therefore, according at the energy consumption of urban rail transit, this paper constructs the energy consumption prediction model based on BP neural network based on the real energy consumption data of a line of Nanjing metro. The input layer of the initial prediction model is 14 influencing variables. After error detection and model training, the average accuracy of the model energy consumption prediction reached 96.15%.In order to reduce the computational complexity of the model, make the model play more value in practical application, this paper and on the basis of the initial model model, using the grey scale correlation analysis, variable reduction, established the input layer for eight variables energy consumption prediction model, model after simplified average accuracy reached 96.55%, also has a good prediction effect. © VDE VERLAG GMBH ∙ Berlin ∙ Offenbach.

In terms of planning aspect,nuclear power plant(NPP)development needs analyses,consideration,and right decision making due to multi criteria *** study prioritizes the best site development of Indonesian NPPs in terms of 21 social,economic,and technical perspectives which comprise transmission network,oper-ating cost,economic impact,geology,geotechnic,seismology,population density,environment,cooling water,meteorology,hydrology,proximity to hazardous facilities,topography,land use,proximity to wetland,evacu-ation route,security,transportation network,legal consideration,impact of tourism,land ownership,historical places,and public acceptance,all identified to be considerations for the best *** Fuzzy algorithms(Chang’s Extent Analysis and Buckley’s Fuzzy AHP)were used to determine the criteria priorities as well as NPP site feasibility of two locations in *** results found that geology,geotechnic,and seismology(SA1);security(SO1),population density(SA2),environment(SA3),and cooling water(SA4)had the highest priorities among the 21 *** on the 5 top priority criteria,West Kalimantan and East Kalimantan provinces serve as the best candidates for the NPP *** an innovative and novel multi criteria Fuzzy AHP–based decision making(MCDM)approach has been proven to become a useful reference to select NPP sites in Indonesia.

There are the following three steps to increase users of cutting-edge measurement instruments produced by university research: (1) providing information on their use at scientific conferences, (2) conducting collaborative research between the developers and users of the instruments, and (3) providing a contract measurement service to researchers wanting to use the instruments as needed. This research study aims to determine the criteria for selecting suitable operating organization handling contract measurement service above when it is located within or outside the university. As model cases, we investigated the following two types of businesses that operate university-owned instruments to provide measurement results: shared-use facilities for industry-academia collaborations operated by universities (university organizations) and university-launched companies (companies) performing outsourced services under an instrument-use agreement with the universities. We interviewed three university organizations and three companies about their challenges and success points in managing their organizations. A comparison of the interviews revealed that 'maintenance of the organization,' 'hiring human resources,' and 'expanding customer base' are the criteria for selecting the two types of businesses. © 2023 PICMET (Portland International Center for Management of Engineering and technology(.

Structure-based design of new anticancer N3-Substituted quinazolin-4-ones as type I ATP-competitive inhibitors targeting the deep hydrophobic pocket of EGFR

Epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) is amongst the earliest targeted kinases by small-molecule inhibitors for the management of EGFR-positive cancer types. While a few inhibitors are granted FDA approval for clinical use, discovery of new inhibitors is still of merit to enhance ligand-binding stability and subsequent enzyme inhibition. Thus, a structure-based design approach was adopted to devise a new series of twenty-nine N3-substituted quinazolin-4-ones as type I ATP-competitive inhibitors targeting the deep hydrophobic pocket of EGFR. The most active compounds demonstrated potent IC50s against MDA-MB-231 and HepG2 cancer cells being comparable to or better than the reference drugs erlotinib and lapatinib. IC50s of 5f and 15a against MDA-MB-231 were 3.34 and 4.99, whilst those against HepG2 were 6.37 and 2.18 μM, respectively. Also, members of this series demonstrated selective cytotoxicity against cancer cell lines showing low toxicity on human skin fibroblast normal cells hFB-4. Both 5f and 15a also effectively inhibited EGFR with sub-micromolar respective IC50s of 0.07 and 0.12 μM. The two derivatives halted the cell cycle progression of treated cancer cells and induced apoptosis as affirmed by flow cytometry along with RT-PCR-determined overexpression of the pro-apoptotic genes p53, Caspase 3, and Bax. Notably, docking and molecular dynamics simulations of members of this series of quinazolin-4-one derivatives showed that analogs with a short linker at the N3 position of the quinazoline ring exemplified by 5f bind to the active form of EGFR with their terminal aryl ring dwelling in the BPI pocket similar to erlotinib, while those with a longer linker represented by 15a bind to the inactive form in a comparable manner to lapatinib lodging the terminal phenyl in the BPII pocket. © 2024 Elsevier Ltd

This study aims to obtain data on estimated annual radiation doses for 3 age groups of the community residing in several mining locations and control areas to be used as consideration in the management of environmental radioactivity in mining areas in general. In this study, several mining areas have been selected, including: tin mining areas in the Bangka Belitung Islands, traditional gold mining in Kuantan and Pongkor, steam-electric power plant in Pacitan and Rembang as well as control areas which are Mamuju and Lampung. The radioactivity of Ra-226 in water on all study sites were used as secondary data for calculating the estimated annual effective dose for infants, children and adults. The results of the calculation of the estimated annual effective dose showed that the highest was received by the infant age group 1-2 years at the tin mining location, namely 6.55-18.3 E-04 Sv/y, the group of children aged 7-12 years at 4.52- 9.25.E-04 Sv /year and adults 0.35-18.3.E-04 Sv/year. While the lowest was in Mamuju area, respectively for infants = 6.65.E-07, children 3.36.E-07 and adults 1.30.E-07 Sv/year. There is a significant relationship between the activity of Ra-226 in water with the annual effective dose at each study site and the highest dose for infants aged 1-2 years compared to the children and adult groups. This needs attention in environmental management in the area, especially in the setting of public residential areas. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

In facing the dependence on unsustainable energy sources such as fossil fuels, diversifying the energy supply becomes crucial. As Indonesia's new capital city, Nusantara significantly requires new and renewable energy sources as it can enhance energy security by reducing dependence on energy imports while also providing economic stimulus and creating new job opportunities. The potential development of new and renewable energy *** Nusantara is a solution to Indonesia's dependence on fossil energy, which negatively impacts the environment and public health. One of these energy sources is the NuScale SMR type of nuclear power plant. The research method employed is a literature study based on various relevant sources related to the research topic. The results of the literature study indicate that the NuScale SMR is a nuclear reactor that possesses advantages in terms of size, high safety, reliability, resource efficiency, support for renewable energy, as well as affordable modularity and scalability, making it a prime choice to fulfil the energy needs in Nusantara. By utilising new and renewable energy sources from smaller and modular nuclear technology, Indonesia can reduce its dependence on fossil energy and promote a transition towards cleaner and more sustainable energy sources. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Providing robust prognosis predictions for cancers with limited data samples remains a challenge for precision oncology. In this study, we propose a novel approach that combines multi-task learning (MTL) and graph neural networks (GNNs) to address this issue. By representing gene-gene interactions as a graph network, our approach leverages multi-task learning to effectively capture the relationships of genes relevant to the oncogenesis and progression of breast, lung, and colon cancer. We demonstrate that our approach improves the cancer prognosis prediction for cancers with fewer samples, such as colon adenocarcinoma, by leveraging the shared gene-gene interactions across different cancer types, obtaining increases in the area under the precision-recall curve (AUPRC) of 24%. Our work contributes to the field of smart healthcare by demonstrating the potential of MTL and GNNs for enhancing cancer prognosis prediction, even with limited data samples. © 2024 IEEE.

A previous study found that local Indonesian seas play a significant role in causing extreme precipitation and spread over the Maritime Continent during the anomalously wet dry season. However, the influence of sea surface temperature on convective rainfall still needs to be investigated. Here, we analyzed the response of convective activity to the sea surface temperature (SST) using monthly data of SST and outgoing longwave radiation (OLR) derived from the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecast (ECMWF) reanalysis 5th Generation (ERA5) with a spanning record from 2010 to 2019. The monthly variation shows that the significant response (60–80%) of convective activity to SST was initiated from May to October over mostly local Indonesian sea. The spatial correlation between SST and OLR shows that SST leads to OLR over the entire local sea except in the Arafura and Banda seas during May, which might correspond to the strengthening of meridional wind from the Pacific Ocean. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

Drought stress exacerbated by climate change severely compromises crop productivity and global food security, particularly in maize-dependent regions. To mitigate drought stress, a method based on local maize varieties and field capacity management can be the appropriate solution. Field capacity (FC) defined as the maximum water content soil retains after drainage serves as a key parameter for drought stress evaluation. Therefore, this study aimed: (1) to investigate the effect of local varieties, FC, and the interactions on agrohistological, proline, and maize yield, and (2) to find drought-tolerant local varieties of maize crops at a specific FC. This study was carried out using a factorial Randomized Block Design. The first factor was selected local varieties from North Sumatra (BI-3, SB-5, DS-2, MN-3, and hybrids as a comparison), and the second factor was FC (20, 40, 60, 80, 100%). This study was repeated three replicates and conducted in farmers' fields from June to October 2023 in a modified greenhouse. The parameters were analyzed by ANOVA and continued with DMRT at 5% level through IBM SPSS. Heritability, drought tolerance index, and Pearson correlation analysis were calculated. The results showed that the local variety DS-2 (Deli Serdang) had a higher level of drought tolerance (0.595), as characterized by an increase in agrohistological, proline, and yield reaching 1,385.24 kg ha⁻¹. A 80% FC showed the lowest inhibition to agrohistological and proline, indicating the potential to be tolerated and support maize yield. The interaction of DS-2 with FC-80% had great potential to be applied to dryland. © The Author(s) 2025.
