Our paper introduces a novel video dataset specifically for Temporal Intention Localization (TIL), aimed at identifying hidden abnormal intention in densely populated and complex environments. Traditional Temporal Action Localization (TAL) frameworks, focusing on overt actions within constrained temporal intervals, often miss subtle pre-abnormal actions that unfold over extended periods. Our dataset comprises 228 videos with 5790 clips, each annotated to capture fine-grained actions within ambiguous temporal boundaries using the Joint-Linear-Assignment methodology. This approach enables detailed analysis of the evolution of abnormal intention over time. To detect subtle, hidden intention, we developed the Intention-Action Fusion module, an creative approach integrating dynamic feature fusion across 11 behavioral subcategories, significantly enhancing the model's ability to discern nuanced intention. This enhancement has led to performance improvements of up to 139% in specific scenarios, dramatically boosting the model's sensitivity and interpretability, crucial for advancing proactive surveillance systems. By pushing the boundaries of technology, our dataset and methodologies foster proactive surveillance systems capable of preemptively identifying potential threats from nuanced behavioral patterns, encouraging further exploration into the complexities of intention beyond observable actions. Smart Grids (SG) rely on Home Area networks (HAN) and Neighborhood Area networks (NAN) to ensure efficient power distribution, real-time monitoring, and seamless communication between smart devices. Despite these advantages, the use of public communication channels in HAN and NAN networks introduces critical challenges, such as vulnerability to impersonation, physical tampering, and scalability issues in resource-constrained environments. These issues compromise the stability, reliability, and security of SG environments. Existing protocols often fail to adequately address these challenges, particularly in ensuring resistance to physical tampering of supply lines and impersonation attacks. Additionally, they struggle to minimize the computation, communication, and energy costs associated with securing a resource-constrained SG environment. Therefore, we propose a robust key exchange and tamper-resistant protocol for HAN and NAN networks to address these limitations. The proposed protocol leverages the Physical Unclonable Function (PUF) mechanism to offer physical tampering resistance to smart meters. We validate our protocol formally using the Random or Real (RoR) model, which confirms its security robustness. Additionally, our informal security analysis highlights the protocol's resilience against impersonation, physical tampering attacks, etc. We analyze and compare the performance of the proposed protocol, which further demonstrates our protocol's effectiveness and security compared to competing protocols. Moreover, the proposed protocol achieves resource efficiency with 45.99% and 58.85% substantial reductions in computation overhead and energy overhead, respectively, compared to competing protocols. These results showcase the protocol's enhanced security and practicality for resource-constrained SG environments. © 2014 IEEE.

software debugging plays a crucial role in fault localization tasks, and spectrum-based fault localization (SBFL) is a hot topic in software automation debugging research. However, existing SBFL technologies are generally limited by tie within ranks, where a large number of elements share the same suspiciousness, which in turn severely limits the performance of SBFL. To this end, we propose an SBFL model based on eigenvector centrality (FLEC). This algorithm first utilizes the statement coverage information in the program spectrum to construct a statement network, and adopts the correlation between statements as edge weights. Then, FLEC takes statement suspiciousness as node weight. On this basis, the algorithm utilizes the eigenvector centrality to calculate the weighted suspiciousness of each statement while considering both node importance and correlation between nodes. Finally, FLEC conducted experimental validation on 3 datasets of Defects4J, and the results showed an average improvement of 10.7% in ACC@N compared to the optimal baseline. © 2024 IEEE.

Given the increasing population, the underground spaces are widely used. The existing research on wireless sensor networks (WSNs) development has mainly focused on overground space;also, the existing work was based on an ideal deployment environment and simple sensor behaviour. As a consequence, they do not satisfy requirements for practical 3D environment. The 3D wireless sensor networks (WSNs) deployment has new difficulties in the underground space. The signal transmission is impacted by obstacles in the underground space. Thus, we propose a geometry-based 3D signal propagation model to calculate the signal path loss caused by obstacles. Then, taking both coverage and connectivity into account, we transform the WSNs deployment problem into a multi-objective optimization problem (MOP). Finally, we compare some state-of-the-art multi-objective evolutionary algorithms (MOEAs) for the WSNs deployment problem in underground sheltered space. Accurately segmenting polyp regions in colonoscopy images is crucial for the diagnosis and intervention of colorectal cancer. However, the task of polyp segmentation remains challenging due to the diverse size and shape variations among polyps, their extreme similarity to the background, and frequent rotation of the lens, which further increases the diversity in polyp presentation. To address these challenges effectively, we propose a comprehensive polyp segmentation network (CPSNet). Specifically, we introduce a Comprehensive Spatial Feature Extraction Module (CFEM) that progressively and densely integrates features while forming receptive windows with various shapes. This enables enhanced perception of polyps at manifold sizes and shapes. Additionally, we propose a Fine-grained Region Strengthen Module (FGSM) to supplement uncertain areas around polyps by mitigating background noise interference. In terms of training strategy, we further introduce a Rotation-augmented Constrained Loss (RC Loss), which reinforces consistency constraints on polyp images under multiple rotation angles. Qualitative and quantitative experiments conducted on five public datasets demonstrate both the plug-and-play capability of CFEM as well as the effectiveness and excellence achieved by CPSNet. © 2025 IEEE.

With the development of Internet of Things (IoT) technology, sensor networks are widely used for data collection in various IoT scenarios. Traditional sensors use multi-hop communication to transmit data back to the data center, which can lead to excessive energy consumption in some nodes and cause the collapse of sensor networks. Solving the data transmission problem in sensor networks has become a critical issue. In recent years, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) capable of hovering have been increasingly applied in military and civilian fields, such as smart logistics, edge computing, and wireless power transfer (WPT). UAVs, with their strong controllability and high mobility, can effectively perform the task of data transmission in sensor networks. In the task of UAV -assisted sensor data collection, UAVs can establish communication connections with ground sensors through small communication devices and act as mobile aggregation nodes to collect data from the ground wireless sensor network. To achieve energy balance among sensor network nodes as much as possible while ensuring service quality based on information age, we propose a combinatorial optimization problem. Ultimately, we solve the combinatorial optimization problem by optimizing the trajectory of UAV flight. As the problem is a mixed-integer non-convex optimization which is difficult to solve, we propose a UAV swarm-based sensor trajectory planning algorithm using multi-agent reinforcement learning. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm has a better effect than baseline approaches on optimization objective. © 2023 IEEE.

In this study, we introduce a novel Hybrid Federated Learning (HybridFL) approach aimed at enhancing privacy and accuracy in collaborative machine learning scenarios. Our methodology integrates Differential Privacy (DP) and secret sharing techniques to address inference risks during training and protect against information leakage in the output model. Drawing inspiration from recent advances, we present a HybridFL framework that combines the strengths of Homomorphic Encryption (HE) and Multi-Party Computation (MPC) to achieve secure computation without the computational overhead of pure HE methods. Our contributions include a privacy-preserving design for Federated Learning (FL) that ensures local data privacy through secret sharing while leveraging DP mechanisms for noise addition. The system offers resilience against unreliable participants and is evaluated using various machine learning models, including Convolutional Neural networks (CNN), Multi-Layer Perceptrons (MLP), and linear regression. Furthermore, we address potential external threats by deploying predictive model outputs as robust services against inference attacks. Experimental results demonstrate improved accuracy and convergence speed, establishing the viability of HybridFL as an effective solution for collaborative machine learning with enhanced privacy guarantees. © ICST Institute for Computer Sciences, Social Informatics and Telecommunications engineering 2025.

Underwater vision is typically more difficult to tackle than open-air vision due to the degraded visibility and geometrical distortion, which impedes the development of underwater machine vision. Hence, we propose a joint depth estimation and color correction framework for underwater monocular images via data hallucination and reciprocal guidance learning. Specifically, due to the lack of labeled underwater data, we first design a data hallucination network to translate terrestrial images to multi-style synthetic underwater images while retaining the scene structure of terrestrial images from a single-source-multi-target perspective, benefiting the effective training of the joint tasks. Then, considering the strong connection between both tasks, we design a collaborative network to learn the reciprocal guidance between tasks from a multi-task perspective, thus improving the performance of each task. The whole framework can be trained end-to-end, and performs favorably against state-of-the-art methods in both depth estimation and color correction tasks. © 2022 IEEE.

Transferring fashion to surveillance with weak labels

In this paper, we address the problem of automatic clothing parsing in surveillance images using the information from user-generated tags, such as "jeans" and "T-shirt." Although clothing parsing has achieved great success in the fashion domain, it is quite challenging to parse target under practical surveillance conditions due to the presence of complex environmental interference, such as that from low resolution, viewpoint variations and lighting changes. Our method is developed to capture target information from the fashion domain and apply this information to a surveillance domain by weakly supervised transfer learning. Most target tags convey strong location information (e.g., "T-shirt" is always shown in the upper region), which can be used as weak labels for our transfer method. Both quantitative and qualitative experiments conducted on practical surveillance datasets demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed surveillance data enhancing method. © 2020, Springer-Verlag London Ltd., part of Springer Nature.
