To enhance the voltage stability of power system, the bus-bar splitting is employed on the look-ahead base case with a credible set of disturbances. The purpose of this paper is identify a 'best' bus-bar splitting scheme for a look-ahead power system that can enhance the load margin of the look-ahead power system and ensure the load margins of contingency cases are great than a threshold preset by operators. Considering the complexity of online solution of the proposed problem, the group property of contingencies and a four-stage methodology are proposed in this paper. Results of the IEEE 118 bus-power system indicate the effectiveness of bus splitting and the four-stage methodology. © 2020 IEEE.

The tendency to use renewable energies in DC microgrids (MGs) has been increased in the past decades. Due to the unpredictable behavior of renewable resources, it is vital to utilize energy storage resources in the MG structure. The generation sources and storages in DC MGs should be chosen in order to meet the maximum demand in both grid-connected and islanded mode. Also, penetration of power electronic based devices is essential to connect these resources to the network. The control of these devices are another challenge in this regard. So, a proper configuration along with an efficient control approach is needed for development of DC MGs. In this paper, a new structure for DC MG is presented which includes solar photovoltaic (PV) as generation sources and supercapacitor and battery as storages. Furthermore, an innovative control method based on voltage variations is introduced for the proposed structure. It is shown that simultaneous usage of battery and supercapacitor improves the performance of the MG in handling the abrupt load changes in the both grid-connected and islanded mode operations. To evaluate the performance of the proposed structure and control algorithm, different conditions are simulated in MATLAB/Simulink software and the results are presented. The results confirm a high degree of performance for proposed structure and control method.

A cybersecurity problem for a multi-agent consensus problem is investigated through a dynamic game formulation. Specifically, we consider a game repeatedly played between a jamming attacker and a defender. The attacker attempts to jam the links between a number of agents to delay their consensus. On the other hand, the defender tries to maintain the connection between agents by attempting to recover some of the jammed links with the goal of achieving faster consensus. In each game, the players decide which links to attack/recover and for how long to continue doing so based on a Lyapunov-like function representing the largest difference between the states of the agents. We analyze the subgame perfect equilibrium of the game and obtain an upper bound of the consensus time that is influenced by the strategies of the players. The results are illustrated with a numerical example.

Grid-connected photovoltaic (PV) systems are considered as the best options for home solar electric system applications. Compared to other alternatives, grid-connected PV systems offer the least expensive and lowest-maintenance choice for residential usage. The PV systems are constructed using some solar cells to extract the energy from sun radiations and power converters to convert the output DC voltage into AC one. In the present study a hybrid scheme is suggested to control the grid-connected PV converters. The developed scheme is able to inject the power created by solar arrays into the network. Also, it can rectify the problems associated with the reactive power and load harmonics in the system. Moreover, the suggested technique can secure the load active and reactive power during the network failure conditions. One of the contributions of the proposed method is that it can manage the power of solar arrays to supply the load, filter the harmonics and compensate the reactive power in a situation where the power produced by solar arrays is less than the power of converters. In this condition, the proposed technique can make the current drawn from the grid completely sine at unity power factor.

A cyber security problem in a networked system formulated as a resilient graph problem based on a game-theoretic approach is considered. The connectivity of the underlying graph of the network system is reduced by an attacker who removes some of the edges whereas the defender attempts to recover them. Both players are subject to energy constraints so that their actions are restricted and cannot be performed continuously. For this two-stage game, which is played repeatedly over time, we characterize the optimal strategies for the attacker and the defender in terms of edge connectivity and the number of connected components of the graph. The resilient graph game is then applied to a multi-agent consensus problem. We study how the attacks and the recovery on the edges affect the consensus process. Finally, we also provide numerical simulation to illustrate the results. Copyright © 2020, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) is an important remote measurement in agriculture as it has high correlation with plant growth and yield result. NDVI used together with other industrial greenhouse sensors would provide more detailed information on which greenhouse operation individual parameter or parameter group change (temperature, natural light level, air humidity, irrigation cycle. etc.) have greater impact on plant wellbeing and yield. NDVI or other remote contactless measurement methods, like chlorophyll Fluorescence and Multispectral imaging could provide an instant feedback on current tomato plant state and wellbeing. In this paper, we present our experimental setup and corresponding approach on long term NDVI sensor setup and data capturing in industrial greenhouse environment which has artificial light component along with the natural light. In details we discuss differences in NDVI calculation in environments with different kind of artificial and natural lighting combinations.

We explore the networked control problem of a linear continuous-time plant under jamming attacks. We introduce a state-feedback control framework where the sensor transmits state information packets to the controller at random time instants. We show that our randomized transmission approach can handle jamming attacks with high occurrence frequencies and closed-loop stability can be achieved as long as the average jamming duration is sufficiently small. We illustrate the efficacy of our approach with a numerical example.

Machine learning are vulnerable to the threats. The Intruders can utilize the malicious nature of the nodes to attack the training dataset to worsen the process and manipulate the learning and make the over all system with less efficiency and performance. The optimized poison attack procedures are already introduced to estimate the overall bad scenario, design the intrusion as bi-level optimization and it is considered computational complexity is high and demanding, in contrary the applicability is limited such models deep neural networks. In this research papers, we have proposed, novel proposed system, poisoning attacks against the Machine learning training dataset, including the genuine data points that reduce the accuracy of the classifier in the process of training. The proposed system have 3 components of Generative Adverserial networks (GAN) generator, discriminator, and the target classifier. The proposed system allows to detect the vulnerability easy and it can be found as similar as realistic attacks to detect the area where the underlying data distribution have more possibility of poising attack which cause vulnerability to the network. Our experimentation, proves the claim our that the proposed model is effective on compromising the classifiers uses the machine learning algorithms and also deep learning networks.

The task of estimating, tracking and controlling the speed of user equipment (UE), particularly with speed above allowed limits, is a challenge which has a significant impact on radio resource and mobility management in Long Term Evolution (LTE). This is very essential to control the speed and avoid traffic accidents with the help of the LTE networks application. In this paper, we propose an algorithm that relies on transmitting Channel Quality Indicator CQI bits through LTE network's to remote IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) application server to analyze and to map the UE speed and to determine if the UE is above the speed limit. The paper presents a new approach to estimate, track, and control users moving above speed limits in LTE-Advanced (LTE-A) networks using mapping of the uplink CQI index of the UE since the CQI range can provide an indication to the system regarding the movement and the speed of the UE. The approach can be achieved by sending an emergency warning message to the evolved base station (eNB) that sends a downlink (DL) signal to the control channel to activate a radio frequency identification (RFID) unit mounted on the car. The mapping system via the RFID sends a control signal to the Engine Control Unit (ECU), traction control (TC), electronic stability program (ESP) and automatic brake system (ABS) mounted in the car to reduce the speed if the alarm is activated to the inattentive driver. The proposed system has been simulated and evaluated using the Vienna system level simulator. The results show that the estimation of the CQI is dropped significantly to (2-3) as the UEs speed is increased to 150 km/h. Thus, with the availability of estimation of CQI at LTE-A networks, action can be made to warn or reduce the UE speed. Finally, the proposed system can be utilized in recent and future trends of controlling smart cars for long range as the 5G-Internet of Things (IoT) tries deeply to accomplish this system but for short range. © 2018 IEEE.
