Kalman filters (KFs) are popular methods to estimate position information from a set of time-of-flight (ToF) values in radio frequency (RF)-based locating systems. Such filters are proven to be optimal under zero-mean Gaussian error distributions. In presence of multipath propagation ToF measurement errors drift due to small-scale motion. This results in changing phases of the multipath components (MPCs) which cause a drift on the ToF measurements. Thus, on a shortterm scale the ToF measurements have a non-constant bias that changes while moving. KFs cannot distinguish between the drifting measurement errors and the true motion of the tracked object. Hence, very rigid motion models have to be used for the KF which commonly causes the filters to diverge. Therefore, the KF cannot resolve the short-term errors of consecutive measurements and the long-term motion of the tracked object. This paper presents a data-driven approach that uses training sequences to derive a near-optimal position estimator. A Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) Recurrent Neural Network (RNN) learns to interpret drifting errors in ToF measurements of a tracked dynamic object directly from raw ToF data. Our evaluation shows that our approach outperforms state-of-the-art KFs on both synthetically generated and real-world dynamic motion trajectories that include drifting ToF measurement errors.

IntroductionLipidomic profiling allows 100s if not 1000s of lipids in a sample to be detected and quantified. Modern lipidomics techniques are ultra-sensitive assays that enable the discovery of novel biomarkers in a variety of fields and provide new insight in mechanistic investigations. Despite much progress in lipidomics, there remains, as for all high throughput "omics" strategies, the need to develop strategies to standardize and integrate quality control into studies in order to enhance robustness, reproducibility, and usability of studies within specific fields and *** aimed to understand how much results from lipid profiling in the model organism Caenorhabditis elegans are influenced by different culture conditions in different *** this work we have undertaken an inter-laboratory study, comparing the lipid profiles of N2 wild type C. elegans and daf-2(e1370) mutants lacking a functional insulin receptor. Sample were collected from worms grown in four separate laboratories under standardized growth conditions. We used an UPLC-UHR-ToF-MS system allowing chromatographic separation before MS *** found common qualitative changes in several marker lipids in samples from the individual laboratories. On the other hand, even in this controlled experimental system, the exact fold-changes for each marker varied between *** results thus reveal a serious limitation to the reproducibility of current lipid profiling experiments and reveal challenges to the integration of such data from different laboratories.

The paper represents theoretical and experimental vibration analysis of electronic packages. The research objectives are bearing parts, such as printed circuit boards, walls of the cases and electronic components, in enclosed electronic packages subjected to vibration during their operation. The theoretical :model of the oscillation system representing electronic package installed on the support subjected to vibration is described. Vibration transmission from the shaker to the tested electronic package is explained as the complex problem to solve. The experimental measurement: verified significant difference in amplitudes of vibrations transmitted nisi de the package and incident to. The elements of plate bending theory is used for main boards, case walls and other planar rectangular structures considered as equivalent homogeneous plates, in order to estimate their natural frequencies and forms of tree cross oscillations and hence to identity their possible resonances with purpose to avoid them in operation. The significant attention was paid to the experimental research of dynamic characteristics, representing results in form of Chladni figures and amplitude frequency responses.

The effective development and dissemination of the open integration for the next generation of operating rooms require a comprehensive testing environment. In this paper, we present the various challenges to be addressed in demonstration applications, and we discuss the implementation approach, the foci of the demonstration sites and the evaluation efforts. Overall, the demonstrator setups have proven the feasibility of the service-oriented medical device architecture (SOMDA) and real-time approaches with a large variety of example applications. The applications demonstrate the potentials of open device interoperability. The demonstrator implementations were technically evaluated as well as discussed with many clinicians from various disciplines. However, the evaluation is still an ongoing research at the demonstration sites. Technical evaluation focused on the properties of a network of medical devices, latencies in data transmission and stability. A careful evaluation of the SOMDA design decisions and implementations are essential to a safe and reliable interoperability of integrated medical devices and information technology (IT) system in the especially critical working environment. The clinical evaluation addressed the demands of future users and stakeholders, especially surgeons, anesthesiologists, scrub nurses and hospital operators. The opinions were carefully collected to gain further insights into the potential benefits of the technology and pitfalls in future work.

this article describes the approach that was used for building service processor of Multiprocessor Computer systems (MPCS) Elbrus-1 and Elbrus-2. This service processor has gotten the name Universal Engineering Console (UEC). In addition, the article describes the hardware structure of UEC and different software systems. All those systems have been designed for off-line setting-up and repair of MPCS components: central processor units, input-output processors, data transfer processors, and technical status controlling device. Also described are structure and general features of UEC special real-time operating system that was intended for setting-up and repair processes of MPCS hardware devices automation, UEC simulation system that was used to build system prototype is also briefly described.

Methods of spatial indexing of dynamic scenes based on regular octrees

The paper is devoted to study and development of spatial indexing methods as applied to three dimensional scenes arising in computer graphics, CAD/CAM systems, robotics, virtual and augmented reality applications, nD-modeling systems, and in project planning. Such scenes are compositions of a great number of extended geometrical objects exhibiting individual dynamic behaviors. The main focus is placed on algorithms for executing typical spatial queries with the use of regular dynamic octrees. In particular, algorithms for determining collisions, region search and nearest neighbor search are studied. For the model datasets introduced, average complexity estimates of index construction and execution of typical queries are derived based on probabilistic analysis. The estimates obtained significantly improve known pessimistic results and justify the suitability of regular octrees to spatial indexing of large-scale dynamic scenes. Results of computational experiments substantiate theoretical results and demonstrate possibilities of creating efficient computer graphics applications under the condition of permanently growing complexity of visual models.

Networks of human interactions (like social and mobile call networks) in most cases inherit natural properties of society, e.g. community structure or tie strength. The method for generating large random mobile call graphs is introduced. Generated graphs reflect real network properties, such as community structure or Double Pareto Log-Normal degree distribution. Generation time is linear in the number of edges. The proposed method is intended to facilitate evaluation of algorithms designed for mobile call network analysis.

In this paper we present preliminary results of the multi-fractal analysis for describing the behavior of turbulence evolution in the wake behind two model wind turbines using the program ImaCal. The wind energy is an important component of renewable energy sources. Nowadays the research community focuses on studying the turbulent wakes behind wind turbines and its interactions with the Atmospheric Boundary Layer. For finding the fractal dimension a multi-fractal analysis was performed using the results of a numerical simulation of the flow over two model wind turbines. The latter was carried out by means of the Large Eddy method with the Lagrangian Dynamic Smagorinsky subgrid model. The SOWFA library was employed as a part of OpenFoam software to perform the simulation.
