A novel neural network named comp.tition-based Self-stimulative Network (CSN) is proposed in this paper. Firstly, each input vector is presented to the network to comp.re with the prototype vector that it most closely matched. If there are not any prototype vectors to match the input pattern, a new prototype is generated to hold it. Then Hebb rule is used to activate neurons simultaneously in the second scanning. If more than two prototype vectors match, the strength of the synapse will increase. After activated neurons in comp.titive layer stimulate each other, neuron fuzzy graph made up of neurons of comp.titive layer is formed. Finally, making X cut graph to get connected comp.nents, neurons in the same connected comp.nents of 2. cut graph export to the same neuron of output layer created currently. Being not sensitive to the input sequence of data and the noises ART existing, it can either hold the former memory, or memorize the new patterns. Web log files mined by this algorithm can dispose noises and get good results of the clusters in users and pages. Not only can it help us to discover the user access patterns effectively, but it can provide the valid decision-making for the Web master to devise the personalized web site. Our experiments on a large real data set show that the approach is efficient and practical for clustering of Web users and pages.

This paper addresses a broad spectrum of machine learning problems. Actions by embodied agents automatically generate training data for the learning mechanisms, so that a humanoid robot develops categorization autonomously. Cognitive capabilities of the humanoid robot are developmentally created, starting from abilities for detecting, segmenting, and recognizing objects. Such mature abilities are integrated with the deeper developmental learning mechanisms required to create those abilities out of the robot's physical experiences. This paper presents strategies for learning task sequences and to recognize objects employed on such tasks from human-robot interaction cues. Learning strategies are also presented for the control of both osci.latory and non-osci.latory movements for the execution of these learned tasks. Self-exploration of the world automatically introduces the robot to new training data.

This paper introduces an algorithm based on equivalence classes for tableau with equality - CECA, which use the method based on the transformation into disjunctions of inequalities and the calculation of equivalence classes. It restricts equality applications and avoids the generation of useless new formula. It is possible to restrict search space. In the same time, to study the effectiveness of the algorithm, an example is made to analyze and comp.re its performance with Fitting's approach and Jeffrey's approach. In addition, we have implemented the algorithm on a PC workstation using PROLOG. The results show tableau based on equivalence classes is superior to that of other algorithms.

A wide range of sensor network applications deals with an issue often referred to as data collection: sensor nodes periodically transmit data to a base station. The base station analyzes incoming data for interesting events. In this paper, we introduce a novel Data Collection Protocol (DCP)for wireless sensor networks. DCP is tailored to Bluetooth-based sensor nodes and therefore enables sensor network applications based on inexpensive COTS-hardware. DCP is scalable, robust, and not limited to piconet or scatternet structures. As a potential application of DCP, we describe a wireless sensor network deployed as flood prevention system.

Data Replication can be used to improve the system availability of distributed systems. In such a system, a mechanism is required to maintain the consistency of the replicated data. The grid structure technique based on quorum is one of the solutions to perform this while providing a high availability of the system. It was shown in the study that, it still requires a bigger number of copies be made available to construct a quorum. So it is not suitable for large systems. In this paper, we propose a technique called the neighbor replication on grid (NRG) technique by considering only neighbors to have the replicated data. In comp.rison to the grid structure technique, NRG requires a lower communication cost for an operation, while providing a higher system availability, which is preferred for large systems.

A method is proposed to a real time visual tracking system for automated guided vehicle. To eliminate the change of light, the threshold for binary image is chosen by searching table. To improve manipulating rate of image, the characters are picked up based on comp.essed data. A hybrid classifier to identify the signs is formed by combining the distance classifier method with an artificial neural algorithm, which improves the identification rate. Experimental results prove satisfactory operation of the automated guided vehicle.

Managing the large amount of learning content, involved in the development of an expandable Learning Management System (LMS) is a critical task for most educational organizations. In designing such a system, consideration must be given not only to the requirement of inst.uctors and students, but also to the adaptive qualities of the system itself, because of the rapidly changing software environment. Unlike most enterprises, educational organization can't afford high system maintenance. Development of a flexible, expandable and reliable Learning Management System is, therefore, imperative. This paper proposes a web service oriented framework in building a Sharable Content Object Reference Model (SCORM) comp.tible LMS. We integrated the SCORM concept with distributed comp.ting technologies to build the comp.nents of the LMS and demonstrate how these services can be configured to create a comp.ete system. This framework increases reusability and reduces the maintenance requirements of the LMS. It provides a way for small educational organizations, with limited resources, to build a comp.ete SCORM comp.tible LMS. In such an ideal situation, the content provider not only provides the content, but also the service for the consumers of that content.
