In this study, the current tracking problem of PMSM is handled as static feed-forward controller design for Linear Parameter Varying (LPV) system. H infinity controller formulated by means of Linear Matrix inequalities (LMI) with bounded and measurable system parameters is used. Parameter-dependent Lyapunov function is preferred to achieve robust stability against.inconstant parameters, throughout the control process. The LPV controller is used in two degrees of freedom (2-DOF), by jointly adding static LPV feed-forward controller on a PI feedback controller. Space vector pulse width modulation (SVPWM) is used to generate switching signals. Overall system is simulated by Matlab/Simulink Software to evaluate the validity of the method in transient and steady state response by computer simulation. Simulation results reveal that proposed method has good dynamic performance and robustness. © 2013 IEEE.

Recent achievements in the Intelligent Transport System related research induced the need for further extensions of the newly standardized ITS Station Architecture, integrating an increasing number of emerging new technologies. In this paper preliminary results of the integration of the 6LowPAN protocols related to the use of the IEEE 802.15.4 based access technologies in the generalized ITS Station Architecture are presented. By means of this extension ITS communications open up new possibilities towards the inclusion of emerging technologies, such as the implementationof sensor networks in various safety and non-safety road and vehicle applications and the harmonization of the architecture with the principle of the Internet of Things. The proof of concept implementation of the design has been integrated into a multimodal V2X road-safety scenario, where the sensor network is attached to a roadside ITS Station using industrygrade ITS hardware and software. The results presented in this paper introduce the detailed functional evaluation of the application. By formalizing the results, provided by the functional analysis of the scenario, a feasible input is created for the standardization of the protocols in the ITS Station Architecture.

Budget-related decisions in search auctions are recognized as a structured decision problem, rather than a simple constraint. Budget planning over several coupled campaigns remains a challenging but utterly important task in search advertisements. In this paper, we propose a multi-campaign budget plan- ning approach using optimal control techniques, with consideration of the substitute relationship between advertising campaigns. A measure of coupled relationships between campaigns is presented, e.g., the over- lapping degree (O) in terms of campaign contents, promotional periods and target regions. We also discuss some desirable properties of our model and possible solutions. Furthermore, computational experiments are conducted to evaluate our model and identified properties, with real-world data collected from logs and reports of practical campaigns. Experimental results show that, (a) coupled campaigns with higher over- lapping degrees can reduce the optimal budget level and the optimal revenue, and also arrive the budgeting cap earlier;(b) The advertising effort could be seriously weakened when ignoring the overlapping degree between campaigns.

Internal Model control Based on LS-SVM for a Class of Nonlinear Process

Aiming at a class of nonlinear process, an internal model control (IMC) scheme based on least squares support vector machines (LS-SVM) is proposed in this paper. By using LS-SVM algorithm and selecting the Gaussian kernel function, the internal model and its inversion of the nonlinear process are constructed, and the shortcomings of process identification and modeling based on neural network could be overcome. Then, combing with LS-SVM, the structure of internal model control was designed. The simulation results show that the nonlinear process identification based on LS-SVM has higher precision and better generalization than RBF neural network (NN) method, and IMC based on LS-SVM could achieve a good dynamic performance and robustness.

This paper considers the problem of the compensation of an unknown dead zone in the input of a plant. A new compensation method is presented based on the estimation of an equivalent input disturbance (EID). Unlike other methods, this method does not require the exact information of a dead zone. First, we consider the dead zone as an input-dependent disturbance and employ an EID estimator to estimate it. Then, we incorporate the estimate in the control input and compensate the effect of the dead zone almost completely. Simulation results demonstrate the validity of the method. Ultrafast-deposition and a-Si precursor or cap layer are analyzed as possible approaches to the control upon interface intermixing and film growth process. A simple and effective design is delivered providing deposition rates up to 104 nm/s. XPS results evidence formation of Fe3Si in the layered structure Fe/a-Si/Si. Cross-section HRTEM data demonstrate enhanced intermixing at the a-Si/Fe film interface. Magnetic properties of the Fe-Si structures grown by the above methods are studied by in situ magneto-optic Kerr effect. Intermixing at the Fe/Si interface is the result of chemical reaction rather than diffusion. © 2011 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

In order to improve the efficiency of spatial data access and retrieval performance, an index structure is designed, it solves the problem of low query efficiency of the single index structure when there are large amount of data. Through the establishment of correspondence between the logical records and physical records of the spatial data, the hybrid spatial data index structure is designed based on 2K-tree and R-tree. The insertion, deletion and query algorithm are implemented based on the hybrid tree, and the accuracy and efficiency are verified. The experimental results show that the hybrid tree needs more storage space then R-tree, but with the data volume increasing the storage space needed declining relatively, and the hybrid tree is better than the R-tree in the retrieval efficiency, and with the data volume increasing the advantage is more obvious. © 2011 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.

This paper investigates an opportunity to identify poles of systems with unknown structure on the basis of discrete-time spectral signal representations generated on the basis orthogonal Laguerre systems. The convergence of the Laguerre representation coefficients is analyzed within the framework of a hyperbolic metrics generated by the Blaschke functions associated with the Laguerre system, and a conceptual base is given to solve the task of finding the poles of the system. An algorithm is proposed to find the poles, and a discussion is given upon the criteria of finding all of them. An efficient implementation of the algorithm based upon frequency domain measurement is available for practical computations.

In this paper we consider a probabilistic method for extracting terrain maps from a scene and use the information to detect potential navigation obstacles within it. The method uses Gaussian process regression (GPR) to predict an estimate function and its relative uncertainty. To test the new methods, we have arranged two setups: an artificial flat surface with an object in front of the sensors and an outdoor unstructured terrain. Two sensor types have been used to determine the point cloud fed to the system: a 3D laser scanner and a stereo camera pair. The results from both sensor systems show that the estimated maps follow the terrain shape, while protrusions are identified and may be isolated as potential obstacles. Representing the data with a covariance function allows a dramatic reduction of the amount of data to process, while maintaining the statistical properties of the measured and interpolated features. © 2011 IEEE.
