This work describes the ongoing design and development of the METRIQA platform, hosting the Italian agrifood data space. Both are key components that the Italian National Research Centre for Agricultural Technologies is putting forward in its activities. We present a high-level description of the platform, which is designed to provide web-like access to digital resources and services following an approach called Web of Agri-Food, to support the digital transformation of the sector in Italy. To show its potential, we also present a real case study demonstrating both the benefits and impacts of the proposed architecture, connecting stakeholders and authorities at different levels.

GaN-based light emitting diode with transparent nanoparticles-embedded p -Ohmic Electrodes

Optoelectronics related to GaN-based semiconductors (i.e., InGaN, GaN, and AlGaN) are new technologies that have the potential to far exceed the energy efficiencies of incandescent and fluorescent lighting sources. Among the GaN-based optoelectronic devices like light emitting diode (LED) and laser diode (LD), the GaN-based LEDs are of interest for the next generation illumination because of the representative characteristics such as small, highly radiant, reliably long, and fast responding, compared with the existing general lighting systems. Achievement of high luminous intensity by flip-chip LED (FCLED) with Ag-metallic reflector or using top emitting LED (TELED) with highly transparent ITO contact is required to improve the external quantum efficiency (EQE) and light output of GaN-based LEDs. However, since the work function of Ag and ITO is lower than 5.0 eV, it is difficult to produce low-resistance p-ohmic electrode with Ag-metallic reflector or ITO only. In this study, in order to develop new ohmic contact materials having low contact resistance and high transmittance, transparent nanoparticles-embedded p-ohmic electrode, Mg-doped indium oxide (MIO) (3 nm)/indium tin oxide (ITO) (400 nm) ohmic contact for high brightness TELEDs for solid-state lighting, was suggested. The MIO/ITO contact become ohmic with specific contact resistances of 2.64 × 10−3 Ωcm2 and give transmittance higher than 94.6 % at a wavelength of 450 nm when annealed at 630 °C for 1 min in air. GaN-based LEDs fabricated with the annealed MIO/ITO p-contact layer give a forward-bias voltage of about 3.38 V at injection current of 20 mA. It is further shown that the output power of the LEDs with the MIO/ITO contact is enhanced by about 1.86 times at 20 mA as compared with that of LEDs with the conventional Ni/Au contact.

In this article, an operational transconductance amplifier (OTA)-based self-biased, ultra-low power inst.umentation amplifier is proposed. The design is performed in SCL 0.18 μm technology under 0.6 V power supply. The total current drawn from the supply is 144 nA, resulting in ultra-low power consumption of 86 nW. The entire circuit is self-biased by an in-built current reference circuit. The inst.umentation amplifier produces a fixed gain of 61 dB with unity gain bandwidth of 4.1 KHz and input RMS noise voltage of 2.01 μV rms . The amplifier is aimed for bio-medical applications and is capable of amplifying a signal as low as 0.5 μV with an ultra-low frequency of 1 Hz also, serving the range of even the weakest possible bio-potential signal quite efficiently.

Passengers are attempting to grasp how these airline businesses make judgments regarding flight ticket costs over time, since demand for air travel in India is growing more popular with multiple flight tickets purchasing on the internet. There are a variety of strategies that allow you to perform things at the right moment. Customers want the cheapest ticket possible, but airlines want to maximize their profit by keeping their entire income as high as feasible. To increase revenue, airlines use a number of computational tactics, including as demand forecasting and pricing discrimination. This is for the consumer who buys a flight ticket by estimating the amount of the flight fare. The major difficulty from the customer’s perspective, finding the perfect value or the ideal time to purchase tickets is the most difficult component. The bulk of the techniques rely on advanced computational intelligence, prediction models, and a branch of science called Machine Learning (ML). This research emphasizes the factors and provides inst.uctions for developing a machine learning-based aircraft fare prediction model.

In most cases, word embeddings are learned only from raw tokens or in some cases, lemmas. This includes pre-trained language models like BERT. To investigate on the potential of capturing deeper relations between lexical items and structures and to filter out redundant information, we propose to preserve the morphological, syntactic and other types of linguistic information by combining them with the raw tokens or lemmas. This means, for example, including parts-of-speech or dependency information within the used lexical features. The word embeddings can then be trained on the combinations inst.ad of just raw tokens. It is also possible to later apply this method to the pre-training of huge language models and possibly enhance their performance. This would aid in tackling problems which are more sophisticated from the point of view of linguistic representation, such as detection of cyberbullying. © 2022, CC BY-NC-ND.

Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) is an utter technological sensation that embraces the capability to hover peripatetically in the air. Multi UAV system designed on an effective but complex network needs a flying ad-hoc network (FANET) system to be employed. Due to the higher mobility degree and higher computational power FANET faces an enormous challenge in routing optimization. Other than conventional mobile ad-hoc network (MANET) protocols, metaheuristics-based Ant algorithm and Bee algorithm modifications have been developed as alternatives in FANET topology to exhibit high performance, but with limitations. A metaheuristics hybridization approach founded on Ant Colony Optimization-Levy flight and Firefly Algorithm is projected to make the AdHoc on demand distance vector (AODV) more adequate and thereby aiming in improved routing optimization in FANET system. Comparative analysis on the projected half brid algorithm and the preexisting routing algorithms (AODV and AntHocNet and BeeAdHoc) are conducted to overcome the Routing problem in FANET system. © 2020 IEEE.

Technology for motor rehabilitation faces challenges in uncontrolled settings, such as at home. In these real-world scenarios, robust signals like electromyographic (EMG) and inertial measurement unit (IMU) data are crucial for decoding continuous human actions. Classical modeling methods, such as linear, adaptive, or static filters, lack the capacity to capture complex relationships between surface EMG and kinematics, as well as generalizability across subjects. We propose a deep learning (DL) model for the continuous decoding of hand motion. Custom-made wearable devices acquired EMG-IMU data from 27 healthy subjects performing a wrist flexion/extension task. Two regression models were compared with a hybrid convolutional neural network and a gated recurrent unit. To address inter-subject variability, a leave-one-subject-out cross-validation approach was implemented. The DL model showed a mean R2 increase of 0.18 compared to the polynomial regressor. Our approach enhances wrist kinematics decoding providing a generalized model based on data captured with wearable devices. The findings hold potential for innovative home-based telemedicine solutions in motor rehabilitation. © 2024 IEEE.

In today's world, vehicle safety has become one of the most concerns for private. Nowadays, existing alarm systems of vehicles can be easily replaced as the necessary tools are equally available. While traveling safety is everyone's primary concern. This analysis explains the model of an efficient data model that can monitor and secure the condition of the vehicle / car. The use of IoT for tracking and monitoring is the components. Internet of Things (IoT) is significant for observing the vehicles, medical treatment and manufacturing approaches. By the uninterrupted growth of Internet of Things, many “things” are capable. In this framework, a new IoT based framework depended on Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) and System on Chip (SoC) that gives unified access for IoT is low as well as high-speed devices with extensibility and configurability. Hence, this model performs better accuracy and security.

Private Algorithms for Stochastic Saddle Points and Variational Inequalities: Beyond Euclidean Geometry

In this work, we conduct a systematic study of stochastic saddle point problems (SSP) and stochastic variational inequalities (SVI) under the constraint of (ǫ, δ)-differential privacy (DP) in both Euclidean and non-Euclidean setups. We first consider Lipschitz convex-concave SSPs in the p/q setup, p, q ∈ [1, 2]. That is, we consider the case where the primal problem has an p-setup (i.e., the primal parameter is constrained to an p bounded domain and the loss is p-Lipschitz with respect to the primal parameter) and the dual problem has an q setup. Here, we obtain a bound of Õ(√1n + √nΕd) on the strong SP-gap, where n is the number of samples and d is the dimension. This rate is nearly optimal for any p, q ∈ [1, 2]. Without additional assumptions, such as smoothness or linearity requirements, prior work under DP has only obtained this rate when p = q = 2 (i.e., only in the Euclidean setup). Further, existing algorithms have each only been shown to work for specific settings of p and q and under certain assumptions on the loss and the feasible set, whereas we provide a general algorithm for DP SSPs whenever p, q ∈ [1, 2]. Our result is obtained via a novel analysis of the recursive regularization algorithm. In particular, we develop new tools for analyzing generalization, which may be of independent interest. Next, we turn our attention towards SVIs with a monotone, bounded and Lipschitz operator and consider p-setups, p ∈ [1, 2]. Here, we provide the first analysis which obtains a bound on the strong VI-gap of Õ(√1n + √nΕd). For p − 1 = Ω(1), this rate is near optimal due to existing lower bounds. To obtain this result, we develop a modified version of recursive regularization. Our analysis builds on the techniques we develop for SSPs as well as employing additional novel components which handle difficulties arising from adapting the recursive regularization framework to SVIs. © 2024, CC BY.
