This paper presented a concatenated maximum-likelihood (ML) decoder for space-time/space-frequency block coded orthogonal frequency diversion multiplexing (ST/SFBC-OFDM) systems in double selective fading channels. The proposed decoder first detects space-time or space-frequency codeword elements separately. Then, according to the coarsely estimated codeword elements, the ML decoding is performed in a smaller constellation element set to searching final codeword. It is proved that the proposed decoder has optimal performances if and only if subchannels are constant during a codeword interval. The simulation results show that the performances of proposed decoder is close to that of the optimal ML decoder in severe Doppler and delay spread channels. However, the complexity of proposed decoder is much lower than that of the optimal ML decoder.

A real-time animation technique for a kind of non-rigid objects, flexible and thin objects, is proposed, which can update with stability the state of n mass points of the mass-spring (MS) modei with time complexity of O (n ). The new implicit numerical integration technique of the authors, which is based on a simple approximation of the linear system, has great advantages over the existing implicit integration methods. Moreover, experiment shows that the new technique is highly efficient in animating a kind of non-rigid objects, and suitable for the draping module of the 3D garment CAD system.

In this paper, we propose a novel scalable video coding algorithm based on adaptively weighted multiple reference frame method. To improve the coding efficiency in enhancement layer, double reference picture and double motion vector algorithms are employed for motion compensated prediction. Furthermore, a enhancement layer frame is predicted from the adaptively weighted superposition of the corresponding base layer frame and the double motion compensated frames, according to the input video characteristics and the feedback channel condition. By employing adaptive reference selection scheme at the decoder, the proposed method can reduce the drift problem significantly. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm yields higher PSNR performance than H.263+ both in error-free and severe packet loss channel conditions.
