This paper defines how to select the correct method or combinations of methods to minimize the impact of production system and common operation. Before any method is chosen it is necessary to know the primary system and its databases structures for optimal use of the actual data structure setup and the best design for the ETL process. Usually databases structures are categorized into groups, which define their quality. Classification helps to find an ideal method for each group and thus design the solution of the ETL process with minimal impact on the data warehouse and production system.

Modeling and control of the extruder temperature field is discussed, a process governed by a nonlinear partial differential equation. Utilizing finite element approximation a discretized input/output representation of the system is created with the inputs being powers of heaters and output the extruder temperature field. Local linearization is applied at the operating point and the controller is designed based on the lumped-input and distributed-parameter-output systems approach, using the time-space decoupling of system's dynamics. Nowadays,the achievement of proper steel billets temperature profile is not the only design priority of induction heaters for hot forming applications. Due to its high operating costs,its design is constantly improving in terms of electrical and thermal efficiency. Therefore the more efficient multi-coil design starts to be more used in industrial practice. Numerical model of mentioned heater based on partial differential equations were solved by finite element method in virtual software environment. Primary goal of computer modeling was to investigate the thermal dynamics of four-module heater working in steady-state operation regime. Obtained data were applied to design an advanced control circuit based on distributed parameter systems theory. This may open up the opportunity to make further progress in induction heaters design.

Industrial induction heating represents the environmentally clean, contactless method of steel heating. Same time it has high energy consumption, so in recent years, more efficient modular topology of heaters were introduced. Due to its multiple power modules, there is a possibility to apply the distributed parameter system control theory. By the usage of COMSOL Multiphysics solution, the model in the form of lumped-input and distributed-parameter-output system has been built. The process control is performed on the relations between the coil currents fed into four separate modules of heating device and desired billet temperature profile.

A basic control course is taught for electrical engineering students at the University of Debrecen, Hungary. Through two semesters the students get a basic knowledge on control concepts. Every week there are 2 hours of theoretical lectures immediately followed by 2 hours of MATLAB based interactive computer laboratories. In the curriculum besides the conventional material new aspects of control design such as Youla parametrization have also been included. Practical considerations as e.g. controller saturation are also dealt with. The paper reviews briefly the curriculum and the educational process of this program.

In the paper, the robust control of temperature fields of the casting mould in the benchmark casting plant is presented. Temperature fields of the mould are represented by dynamic models in the form of a finite-dimensional approximation of distributed parameter systems. Models are created by means of an experimental identification. The control synthesis is decomposed to the time and space domain. For the control synthesis with internal model control structure in the time domain, an uncertainty of the controlled system is considered and robust controllers are designed.

This paper is devoted to the measurable disturbance rejection problem in Generalized Predictive Control (GPC) using an adaptive GPC controller, which combines the process of on-line system identification and the process of generalized predictive feedback controller design. In this work, the GPC algorithm is extended to the case when the measurable disturbances are available for feedforward control. The proposed adaptive GPC algorithm with/without future disturbance compensation is implemented in real time and experimentally demonstrated for the application of motor revolutions tracking when subjected to deterministic and pseudo-random disturbance signals. The constraint handling capabilities of the controller are considered as well.

The paper compares the ability of forgetting methods to track time varying parameters using various method of regularized exponential forgetting (REF). Three forgetting methods are analyzed in this paper: regularized exponential forgetting, second is regularized exponential forgetting with alternative covariance matrix (REFACM) and third is the novel hybrid regularized exponential forgetting method with a choice to disable or enable alternative covariance matrix (HREFACM). The comparison is performed in the terms of the quality of the observed output parameters. The observed parameters for all benchmarks are the integral sum of the Euclidean norm of the deviation of the parameter estimates from their true values (IS) and a selected band prediction error count (PE). As a supplementary information the eigenvalues of the covariance matrix are observed. All algorithms are validated by simulations in the Matlab Simulink software environment.

This paper addresses the adaptive control design of a semi-active suspension system. The control system is focused on the driving comfort criteria. For this purpose, it is necessary to emphasize on modeling and connection between vehicle suspension system components. On the other hand, we will compare the obtained results using the designed adaptive control system with the optimal control design applying soft and hard suspension. Moreover, a hydro-pulse will be used for road vibration simulation purposes. In this case, the analysis has been performed over the frequency bandwidth 4-20 Hz considering a constant vehicle speed 80 km/h.
