To deal with the challenge of information overload, in this paper, we propose a financial news recommendation algorithm which help users find the articles that are interesting to read. To settle the ambiguity problem, a new presented OF-IDF method is employed to represent the unstructured text data in the form of key concepts, synonyms and synsets which are all stored in the domain ontology. For users, the recommendation algorithm build the profiles based on their behaviors to detect the genuine interests and predict current interests automatically and in real time by applying the thinking of relevance feedback. Finally, the experiment conducted on a financial news dataset demonstrates that the proposed algorithm significantly outperforms the performance of a traditional recommender.

Maintenance is an important activity in industry as it reduces costs and enhances availability. This can be done either to revive a system/component or to prevent it from breaking down. The increasing need for reliability has led maintenance strategies to evolve from corrective to condition-based and predictive maintenance. The key process of the latter is prognostics and health management, a tool that predicts the remaining useful life of engineering assets. As plants are requested to offer both safety and reliability, planning a maintenance activity requires accurate information about the system/component health state. Usually, this information is gathered through independent sensors or a wired network of sensors. The use of a wireless sensor network has many advantages. First of all, the absence of wires gives sensor networks the ability to cover a large scale surveillance area. Second, it has become possible to monitor hostile and inaccessible areas by simply dropping the sensors from an aircraft to the monitoring region. Finally, the accuracy of measurements can be improved as the sensors can be placed at specific locations without being wired. Even though the deployment of wireless sensor networks is gaining great importance in monitoring applications, there are some research issues that still need to be studied to provide more accurate and reliable data. Indeed, we strongly believe that a good prognostic process starts with a reliable source of information;the wireless sensor network in our case. For this matter, in this paper, we discuss the dependability of wireless sensor networks, we highlight the attributes that have an impact on data accuracy, and present the state of the art in prognostics.

The paper proposes the design of the speed of road vehicles, which minimizes control energy and fuel consumption while keeping travelling time and, moreover, considers the local traffic information to avoid conflicts in congestions. Topographic data and speed limits on the road are incorporated into the design of fuel efficient operation of the vehicle. Since the biased consideration of fuel consumption may lead to the reduction of speed, the traffic flow in the surroundings of the vehicle may be impaired. Thus, the information about the local traffic is an important factor considering the wider transportation system. In the paper the energy-efficient predicted cruise control strategy is presented, which is able to adapt to the motion of the surrounding vehicles. In this way a balance between the designed speed and the flow of the local traffic can be guaranteed.

This paper deals with the problem of trajectory tracking and definition in monocular vision based sense and avoid scenarios for small UAVs where the intruder aerial vehicle should be held in camera field of view. After defining effective field of view (EFOV) and introducing its possible calculation tracking of a triangular waveform trajectory by a conventional roll angle based tracker is examined. This results in zero EFOV and so probably impossible sensing and avoidance. In the next step the authors propose a new tracking solution which uses large sideslip angles to hold aircraft roll angle around zero. This way an acceptable EFOV can be provided. Further improvements in EFOV are gained through the definition of a sinusoidal trajectory which gives smoother tracking. All the results are demonstrated with software-in-the-loop simulation data.
