The paper considers a mathematical model that describes the interactions between the economic system and the ecological system through waste emissions, resource consumption, and the restoration of restorable resources. It is assumed that the state levies a tax on waste emissions, thereby controlling emissions and the consumption of resources by the economy. The model also describes the impact of economic and environmental factors on demographics. The state should strive for economic growth and avoid environmental disasters, and the model can be useful for achieving these goals. Besides, a software implementation of the model was constructed. Some technical details of the software implementation were also considered. Numerical experiment with one of the possible sets of parameters’ values was carried out, which displayed one of the possible situations of stable development. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2025.

The global economy increasingly responds to industrial digitization trends and develops its digitalization strategies, i.e., through application of Industry 4.0 concepts. Thereby, initiatives and developments are often carried out on a company-, industry- or country level. Hungary is one of the most industrialized countries in Europe since many leading car companies, together with their suppliers and related industries have production sites in this area. Witnessing the unprecedented scale and speed of industry transformation due to digitization in general and the emergence of autonomous solutions in all aspects of production and logistics in particular, it is well justified to deal with the question of what Autonomous Systems (ASys) will look like. How influential will it be when the changes' hard challenges and disruptive effects will be overcome, and what are the chances to meet the critical requirements of collaboration and cooperation? What are the technological and management tools to avoid being stuck in the so-called pilot purgatory? To analyse the ASys development status on a high level in the main part of this study, we introduce a conceptual model, including pillars and dimensions aiming to understand the Hungarian ecosystem in terms of ASys. The suggested framework follows a holistic approach in assessment by integrating the following pillars: ecosystem smart factory, human, product. In the second part a questionnaire's first results are presented: there is yet a lot to do to facilitate a definite turn in the mindset of the actors and to make them realize the relevance of simultaneous and continuous cultural and technological development. It's a newly developed, but already tested model to evaluate ASys ecosystems, which can be used in other countries, as well. © 2023 Proceedings of the European Conference on Management, Leadership and Governance. In today's world, connectivity and performance-driven technology are rapidly advancing each year, and new platforms and mechanisms are being utilized to enhance the security and performance of databases and cloud computing, which are trending in the global market. This examination focused on customer information security in cloud computing, i.e., information stockpiling security issues and how to control unapproved access to data by proposing access control;valuable measures were characterized subsequently, and an entrance control show was prescribed. Cloud computing can be described as an innovation that depends on the web and the sharing of resources. It has an adaptable foundation that customers can use with much of a stretch. With its wide event relationship, there are numerous obstacles to continuing with cloud computing because of security issues, mostly considering customer data security. The proposed study helped hesitant clients sensibly continue forward in the cloud while understanding the dangers of cloud computing. The research objective is to examine the security techniques employed in cloud technology to improve its performance by utilizing data mining within a unified cache system. We will apply the Apriori algorithm as a proposed solution to be used in a single cache while considering the security measures in the cloud. The study expects to apply this method to all cloud providers and vendors by entering data into a single cache mechanism that can be extended into different components and implemented using SPSS modelers to improve the security of the database. © 2024 IEEE.

A Novel Visual Transformer for Long-Distance Pipeline Pattern Recognition in Complex Environment

The effective warning of dangerous events along long-distance pipelines is critical to ensure the safety of oil and gas transportation. Distributed optical fiber sensing (DOFS) technology can assist operators to identify threat vibration signals. However, due to the complex and changeable environmental background noise along long-distance pipeline, most of the existing methods only extract one-dimensional features of the signal, making it difficult to distinguish various types of environmental noise, strong interference, and dangerous events. Besides, the samples of different classes in the actual scene are unbalanced. The sample size of dangerous events is often smaller than others. To address these problems, we use image encoding to transform the time series signals collected by the DOFS system into image data, and fully extract the time dependence and the correlation between different elements in the signal. Moreover, a visual transformer model PipelineADWinT is proposed. The self-attention mechanism of diagonal-axial window designed in this model can perfectly combine image encoding features, and obtain local to global multiscale features through hierarchical structure. By optimizing the loss function, the model's ability to handle the class imbalance problem is enhanced. The experimental results show that PipelineADWinT has more comprehensive classification performance and fewer false alarms than all the baseline models, which proves the effectiveness and superiority of the model. © 2020 IEEE.

Fifth-generation (5G) networks are expected to revolutionize wireless communication by enabling faster and more reliable data transfer rates. However, the use of millimeter-wave frequencies in 5G networks introduces unique challenges in data transmission due to phenomena such as dynamic signal blockage, which can result in sudden and intense resource demands for customers. This paper presents a mathematical model of a 5G base station using a resource allocation system with waiting and non-homogeneous resource requirements for customers. The study aims to determine the most efficient way to select customers from the waiting buffer to increase system performance and minimize the probability of blocking data customers and reduce waiting time in the waiting buffer. As a result of the research, it was found, that the service discipline that prioritized customers with the highest resource requirements and took them from the waiting buffer until the system reached its limit, demonstrates the best system performance under certain parameters. In particular, in this paper, an analytical model was obtained for one of the service disciplines with the calculation of a system of equilibrium equations and performance measures. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.

Training summarization models requires substantial amounts of training data. However for less resourceful languages like Hungarian, openly available models and datasets are notably scarce. To address this gap our paper introduces HunSum-2 an open-source Hungarian corpus suitable for training abstractive and extractive summarization models. The dataset is assembled from segments of the Common Crawl corpus undergoing thorough cleaning, preprocessing and deduplication. In addition to abstractive summarization we generate sentence-level labels for extractive summarization using sentence similarity. We train baseline models for both extractive and abstractive summarization using the collected dataset. To demonstrate the effectiveness of the trained models, we perform both quantitative and qualitative evaluation. Our dataset, models and code are publicly available, encouraging replication, further research, and real-world applications across various domains. © 2024 ELRA Language Resource Association: CC BY-NC 4.0.

Intelligent and autonomous vehicle safety is a rapidly developing field. With the increasing number of electric vehicles as well as following consumer trends, cars are getting quieter and also heavier which may lead to severe traffic accidents. To help avoiding potential dangerous situations leading to accidents, this paper proposes a collision danger model for individual pedestrians that can aid vehicle safety features and help decision making, using only forward facing optical cameras. Multi pedestrian detection and tracking is performed with a fast joint model. Semantic segmentation and classification is used to refine pedestrian contours and find the 3D positions as well as to understand the location context of pedestrians in the environment. Pedestrian position is tracked and orientation is estimated using 2D bounding boxes. The proposed pedestrian danger model is the combination of the awareness estimated from orientation, passing distance estimated from trajectories and location context from the segmentation results. © 2022 IEEE.

Paraphrase identification, with the objective to determine whether two sentences are paraphrases of each other, has fostered many applications including natural language inference and document retrieval. Traditional machine learning models for paraphrase identification are generally based on hand-crafted features. Recent deep neural network models generally take semantic vectors as inputs and generate classification results directly. However, existing solutions still have much room for improvement. First, existing models do not fully exploit sequence information (i.e., the order of words) and topic information, which are important for text under-standing. Second, although deep models achieve promising results, they require a large amount of labelled data and have low interpretability. To cope with these problems, we propose a new model called PIM-ST (Paraphrase Identification Model Incorporating Sequence and Topic Information). Specifically, besides semantic information, PIM-ST extracts sequence information and topic information, and adopts a simple machine learning model LightGBM as the classifier. We conduct comparative experiments and ablation studies on two public datasets Microsoft Research Paraphrase Corpus (MSRP) and Quora Question Pairs. Experimental results show that PIM-ST achieves better results than existing state-of-the-art models. © 2024 IEEE.

Field programmable gate arrays (FPGAs) serve as a convenient tool for prototyping and debugging developed digital circuits. Their circuitry is optimized for synchronous unit implementation. computer-aided design systems for digital circuits on FPGAs are also focused on synchronous projects. However, one can also use FPGAs for prototyping self-timed (ST) circuits in the mode of emulating a single-stage representation of some logical and indication cells. The paper analyzes the ST circuit indication cell implementations on the FPGAs and proposes a technique for emulating ST circuits on typical FPGAs. The paper estimates a hardware redundancy of the ST circuit implementations on FPGAs and the results of prototyping an ST unit multiplying two operands with subsequent third operand addition and subtraction without intermediate rounding on the Intel Cyclone and Arria families FPGAs. © 2024 IEEE.

This study presents the architecture and performance evaluation of a high-capacity free-space optical (FSO) communication system that makes use of dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) and a 1.28 Tb/s link. The system under consideration comprises 64 individual channels, each of which is capable of transferring data streams at a speed of 20 Gbps. A return-to-zero (RZ) line coding algorithm is incorporated to maximize performance across 2.0 km of FSO link. Important parameters that affect the system's performance, like beam divergence and atmosphere attenuation, are taken into account in the analysis. The signals' bit-error-rate (BER), quality factor (Q), and eye diagrams are calculated and examined to assess the system's performance. For future optical-wireless networks that require significant bandwidth capabilities, cost-effective implementation, and increased flexibility, this novel high-capacity design offers a promising solution. The results aid in the development of dependable and useful high-speed FSO communication systems. © 2024 IEEE.
