Introduction:A novel recombinant antigen-based capture enzyme immunoassay(RAg-CEIA)was optimized and used to determine technical parameters for estimating human immunodeficiency virus type 1(HIV-1)incidence in ***:We employed orthogonal experimental design to optimize RAg-CEIA by adjusting raw material dilution *** assay was used to measure normalized optical density(ODn)values in 171 longitudinal plasma specimens from 51 HIV-1 seroconverting individuals,plotted against estimated days *** determined the optimal ODn threshold value for differentiating recent from long-term infections and calculated the mean duration of recent infection(MDRI)for incidence *** false recent rate(FRR)was determined using 481 HIV-1 antibody-positive specimens with infection durations exceeding twice the ***:Optimal RAg-CEIA parameters were established with a raw material dilution ratio of 1/12 for calibrator preparation and an enzyme conjugate titer of 1:*** values demonstrated consistent temporal increases across HIV-1 seroconverting individuals,though with notable kinetic heterogeneity in individual *** optimal ODn threshold value of 0.8 for distinguishing recent from long-term infections corresponded to an MDRI of 205 days and an FRR of 4.78%.Conclusions:The optimized RAg-CEIA effectively differentiates recent from long-term HIV-1 infections at the population level,enabling reliable HIV-1 incidence estimation in China.

Objective To analyze the awareness of HCV infection status and willingness for HCV-RNA testing among hepatitis C cases in four provinces in China and to provide a reference for adjusting HCV prevention and control strategies. Methods From September 2021 to September 2022, a cross-sectional survey was conducted using stratified random cluster sampling in four provinces (Jiangsu, Henan, Hubei, and Yunnan) in China, with an estimated sample size of 6 468 participants. The questionnaire included sociodemographic information, HCV infection awareness, willingness for HCV-RNA testing, and history of high-risk behaviors from the survey participants. Logistic regression models were used to analyze the factors associated with HCV infection awareness and willingness for HCV-RNA testing among hepatitis C cases. Statistical analysis was performed using R 4.1.3 software. Results A total of 10 563 hepatitis C cases were surveyed. The awareness rate of HCV infection was 86.74% (9 162/10 563), and the willingness rate for HCV-RNA testing was 85.21% (9 001/10 563). Multivariate logistic regression models analysis showed that the awareness rate of HCV infection was lower among individuals aged ≥60 years, urban residents (with New Rural Cooperative Medical Insurance ), those without a history of blood transfusion, those without a history of paid blood donation, those without a history of injection drug use, and those without a family member with hepatitis C *** awareness rate was higher among individuals with high or technical secondary school education, college education or above, and those married with a spouse (all P<0.05). In terms of willingness for HCV-RNA testing, it was lower among females, individuals aged ≥60 years, and those without a history of blood transfusion, paid blood donation, or injection drug use. The willingness was higher among farmers or migrant workers, employees of enterprises or institutions, and those in other occupations (all P<0.05). Conclusions There

Analysis of HIV antibody positivity and influencing factors among new type drug users at aids surveillance posts in Zhejiang Province from 2017 to 2023

Objective To analyze the HIV antibody positivity of new type drug users in drug abuse monitoring sites in Zhejiang Province from 2017 to 2023 and its influencing factors. Methods From 2017 to 2023, a continuous cross-sectional survey was carried out in HIV monitoring posts among new type drug users in Zhejiang Province,the sample size was 400 people per site of 9 drug abuse surveillance sites in 7 cities. Questionnaires were conducted to investigate their social demographic information, related behavioral information, aids awareness, and acceptance of intervention measures, and blood was collected for HIV and syphilis antibody detection, with new type drugs users in the monitoring population as the research object. SPSS 22.0 software was used for statistical analysis. Results A total of 13 955 new drug users were surveyed, and the number of new drug users was 2 518, 2 292, 2 526, 2 119, 2 161, 1 064 and 1 275 from 2017 to 2023, respectively, the HIV antibody positive rate of new type drugs users was 0.44%, 1.09%, 2.06%, 1.09%, 1.39%, 1.50%, 2.90%, respectively, and the HIV antibody positive standardized rate showed an increasing trend (all P<0.001). The results of multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that marital status: unmarried/divorced/widowed (aOR=3.92, 95%CI: 2.46-6.25), provincial household registration (aOR=3.54, 95%CI: 2.34-5.35), high school education or above (aOR=5.42, 95%CI: 3.68-7.98), sexual activity within the last 1 year after drug use (aOR=1.84, 95%CI: 1.19-2.84), and knowledge that the use of new drugs increases the risk of HIV infection (aOR=2.27, 95%CI: 1.17-4.39) were associated with increased HIV antibody favorable rates among new type drugs users. Conclusions During 2017-2023, the HIV antibody-positive rate of new type drug users in Zhejiang Province showed an upward trend. BACKGROUND Enhancing awareness and use of pre-exposure prophylaxis(PrEP)and postexposure prophylaxis(PEP)is vital to curb human immunodeficiency virus(HIV)***-risk behaviors prevalent among sexually transmitted infection clinic outpatients underscore the need for increased PrEP/PEP education in this *** To investigate the effects of both onsite and online health education on the knowledge of,and willingness to use,PrEP and PEP among individuals receiving PEP *** Participants were drawn from a cohort study on PEP service intervention at an std/aids outpatient clinic in designated HIV/aids hospitals in Beijing,conducted from January 1 to June 30,*** education was provided both onsite and online during *** assessing knowledge of,and willingness to use,PrEP/PEP were administered at baseline and again at 24 wk *** A total of 112 participants were enrolled in the study;105 completed the follow-up at week *** percentage of participants with adequate knowledge of,and willingness to use,PrEP significantly increased from 65.2%and 69.6%at baseline to 83.8%and 82.9%at the end of the intervention(both P<0.05).Similarly,those with adequate knowledge of,and willingness to use,PEP increased from 74.1%and 77.7%at baseline to 92.4%and 89.5%at week 24(P<0.05).Being between 31 years and 40 years of age,having a postgraduate degree or higher,and reporting a monthly expenditure of RMB 5000 or more were found to be significantly associated with knowledge of PrEP and PEP(both P<0.05).CONCLUSION The findings show that both onsite and online health education significantly improved the knowledge of,and increased willingness to use,PrEP and PEP in individuals utilizing PEP services.
