This study investigates the combined effects of heat and mass transfer on free convection flow of Brinkman fluid over a plate embedded in porous media, focusing on applications in engineering and environmental science where efficient thermal and mass transport are essential. This research addresses the complexity of controlling fluid behavior in porous structures, where factors like heat, mass, and momentum fluxes play a critical role. The Atangana–Baleanu fractional derivative is employed to model the flow, integrating Fourier's and Fick's laws to handle heat and mass transfer, with added effects from slip conditions and chemical reactions to capture a more realistic flow scenario. The governing partial differential equations are transformed into dimensionless form and solved semi-analytically using the Laplace transform method. Model validation is achieved by comparing results obtained through algorithmic solutions, confirming the robustness of the fractional approach by taking the values of fractional parameter γ in the range 0.2≤γ≤1, whereas the values of slip parameter λ lies in the range 0≤λ≤0.8. The model also discussed the effect of magnetic lines of force relative to fluid as well as relative to plate by taking values of ϵ is equal to 0 and 1. Key findings reveal that increasing thermal and mass Grashof numbers by 10% results in a 12% rise in fluid velocity, emphasizing the positive impact of buoyancy forces on flow acceleration. Conversely, stronger magnetic fields, chemical reactions, and the Brinkman parameter exhibit a damping effect, reducing velocity by up to 8% when these parameters increase. Additionally, heat sink intensification further slows down fluid motion. A comparative analysis between fractionalized and classical models highlights that fractional techniques capture flow behaviors more precisely, revealing a more flexible and accurate description of convection phenomena. This paper considers the problem of designing a feeding buffer included in a manufacturing system, in combination with a manufacturing shop equipped with multiple pallets where items (raw material) are periodically delivered in batches, according to the ''order up to R'' inventory policy from a central warehouse to the local feeding buffer and then loaded by pallet for processing at the manufacturing shop whenever pallets are available. The objective is to determine the optimal storage capacity of the feeding buffer, for which the problem analysis is *** a periodic-review inventory model approach under the assumptions that demand rates at the manufacturing shop are dependent on on-hand raw-item inventory (state-dependent) and the periodic review interval is given. In the problem analysis, a sufficient condition for the total cost function to be convex is derived. Therewith, the problem solution is found so as to minimize the sum of the expected inventory holding costs and the expected production loss (due to raw-item shortage) costs.

This paper investigates the high-temperature pyrolysis of wild hemp, focusing on converting into valuable gaseous products, bio-oil (BO) and biochar (BC), which can be explored for energy and environmental applications. The pyrolysis products were characterized through various advanced techniques to identify the product composition, physicochemical properties and their suitability in further applications. The yield of the pyrolysis process resulted in 55.68 % gaseous products, 11.11 % BO and 31.86 % BC. The composition of gaseous products include hydrogen (H₂), methane (CH₄), and carbon monoxide (CO). Whereas, the BO contains phthalates and fatty acid esters that are relatively in higher quantity. The physicochemical properties of BC revealed the d-spacing of graphitic (d₀₀₂ = 3.0 Å) and calcite peaks (d₁₀₁ = 2.12 Å), as well as exhibiting the porous structure. Moreover, the Density Functional Theory (DFT) of BC revealed that the sum of Mulliken charges is 0.00 in the armchair model. Given that all free-edge carbon atoms have negative charges, they were particularly susceptible to the chemisorption of oxygen atoms and molecules from the reactant gas, leading to the formation of the semi-quinone structure, which contains oxygen content. Finally, based on the characterization and DFT, the potential application of BC in energy and environmental prospects is revealed. © 2025 Elsevier B.V.

Functional programming is now at the forefront of a new generation of programming technologies, and enjoying increasing popularity and inluence. In this paper, we review the impact of functional programming, focusing on how it has changed the way we may construct programs, the way we may verify programs, and fundamentally the way we may think about programs.

Experimental analysis on Feed force reduction performance by nano fluid of nano- alumina particles enriched waste coconut oil in wet machining of SAE 1045 steel shaft

Waste utilization is act of clean technology. The multiple times used cooking oils are called as waste cooking oil. This investigation focuses specific type of such vegetable oil (coconut oil) for synthesizing the nanofluid for metal machining purposes Used coconut oils are considered as waste and disposed on open channel and that is against to eco-friendliest. The use of such liquid waste for machining coolant is investigated in this piece of research. Liquid Waste used for creating nanofluid for metal cutting is novel approach. If it is feasible the coolant cost will be significantly reduced and waste such oil disposal will also be reduced. This piece of research work aims to investigate the effect of Nano- alumina based Nanofluid in machining of steel work in the lathe machine. The novelty in this investigation is the used coconut oil is reused as base fluid for preparing the nanofluid. Feed force response is used for optimizing the parameters of the metal removal process. For investigating the effects, the cutting speed varied as 40 to 190 m/min, feed rate of the tool varied as 0.05 to 0.20 mm/rev and the CVD coated tool with 4 different nose radiuses used such as 0.3 mm, 0.6 mm 0.9 mm, and 1.2 mm, L16 orthogonal array involved to form the minimum experimental combinations. The results compared with existing practice of dry machining. The test revels that the feasibility of use of liquid waste of used coconut oil for coolant as in the proposed Nanofluid form. The new fluid based cutting out performed and its process parameters influences were studied, optimized and mathematical model developed for prediction of feed force. The Nanofluid reduced the cutting force averagely 35.83% © 2022

Electrocatalytic reduction of CO_(2) to fuels and chemicals possesses huge potential to alleviate current environmental *** doping in metal-nitrogen-carbon(M-N-C)single-atom catalysts(SACs)has been found to be capable to promote the electrocatalytic CO_(2) reduction reaction(CO_(2)RR).However,the origin of the enhanced activity is still ***,we report that sulfur-doped cobalt-nitrogen-carbon single-atom catalyst(Co1-SNC)exhibits superior CO_(2)RR performance compared to sulfur-free counterpart(Co1-NC).On the basis of in situ attenuated total reflectance surface-enhanced infrared absorption spectroscopy(ATR-SEIRAS),kinetic isotope effect(KIE)and theoretical calculation,it is demonstrated that sulfur doping can promote water activation,elevate the d-band center of Co active site,and reduce the free energy of*COOH intermediate *** work deepens the understanding of the CO_(2)RR chemistry over heteroatom-doped SACs for designing efficient CO_(2)RR processes.

High-throughput assessment of Nb, Co, Ti, and Al effects on microstructure and mechanical properties in wrought nickel-based superalloys

The influence of Nb, Co, Ti, and Al on the microstructural evolution and mechanical properties of GH4061 superalloy was simultaneously investigated using diffusion multiple techniques combined with double aging heat treatment. Co exhibited the highest penetration depth with monotonic concentration decrease, significantly inhibiting the formation of needle-like δ phase and reduced the precipitation size of the γ′ phase. Nb diffusion formed distinct layers with clear interfaces, promoting substantial γ′′ phase precipitation, while simultaneously enhancing hardness through solid solution strengthening. Ti and Al diffusion generated substantial diffusion layers containing Ti-Ni enriched needle-like η phases and enhanced γ′ phase growth, characterized by increased size and volume fraction compared to the base alloy. In contrast to the base alloy, this diffusion layer was devoid of phases enriched with Nb. Mechanical property analysis demonstrated that high concentrations of Nb, Al, and Ti enhanced alloy hardness through various strengthening mechanisms, whereas increased Co content diminished the size of the γ′ phase at the interface, resulting in reduced hardness. This high-throughput experimental approach significantly reduced experimental workload while enabling detailed analysis of varying element concentrations on microstructure and properties.

Conventional vehicles depend on crude energy extracted from the fossil fuels such as diesel and petrol, which undergoes internal combustion to liberate the chemical energy stored inside the fuel. This energy is then converted into mechanical energy inside the engine to produce the necessary work for propelling the vehicle accompanied with release of incomplete combustion products such as CO and CO2. Now days a lot of research is concentrated on developing more efficient and eco-friendly ways of generating the energy for propulsion so as to reduce the amount of carbon footprint in the atmosphere. The present work is an effort in the direction of generation of energy for propelling the vehicles in an environmental friendly way by utilising compressed air. During the process of compression, work is being done on the air, which causes an increment in the total pressure of the air. This increment of the total pressure is stored as the energy inside the compressed air, which will be utilised for the running the vane of the motor to generate the necessary work for propulsion. The present work utilises the compressed air at 3 atm to run the motor. The work output of the motor for different vane angles was measured for various casing diameters of 50 mm, 100 mm, 150 mm respectively and the results were plotted. The average time of running of the motor was found out to be 7 h. © 2020 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

Material science is one of the interesting areas of specialization in research and development in all fields of engineering, especially all major civil engineering developments can be related to advancement in materials. This also has a significant influence on our ecosystem. In the present study, the principles of green engineering have been demonstrated using the example of heritage buildings that have survived more than 500–700 years with minimal damage. Even though depreciation of material takes place over a period of time, there is a gulf of difference between materials used in present construction and the past mortars and binders used in ancient construction. Most of the heritage monuments require retrofitting, and there is a need to observe the concept and interphase keenly. Present work focuses on the study of heritage materials as microanalysis to get a precise inference about the mortars and binders used in these structures centuries ago. As part of this case study, one sample has been extracted from the ancient structures and were analysed for chemical analysis by Energy dispersive X-ray spectrometry (EDS) to find-out the exact mix proportion of elements in specific volume.
