Based on TCP/IP networking technology, multi-biped robot remote monitor and coordinated control manage system by cell phone emulator was designed and achieved. It includes Robot server/client module, video capture module, image transmission module, data management module. And introduced its design and implementation; elaborated the design concept of multi-biped robot control with coordination. Finally, we gave the BREW mobile test platform for monitoring and controlling multi-biped robot.

We have considered the degree of enhancement in the transmitted power through the subwavelength aperture, which can be achieved by introducing some perturbation in small aperture shape. The maximum transmission condition has been described from the viewpoint of equivalent circuit representation. This study may find applications such as optical data storage and nanolithography as well as small aperture-type antenna design.

Since pixel level snakes (PLS) were introduced, several algorithms implementing this cellular active contour technique have been proposed. In this paper, we review the main features of these algorithms and propose some modifications to optimize the computation performance of PLS when they are executed on fine-grain pixel-parallel processor arrays. The modified algorithm has been implemented on a focal plane cellular processor array (SCAMP-3 vision chip) and tested on several applications of practical interest.

This paper presents a novel approach for quantifying chromatin in cell nuclei by using 3D texture analysis on PI dyed prostate nuclei. This was rendered possible by the use of the proposed 3D segmentation method for extraction of the volumetric data. The method is a generalization of evolutionary snake approach to the case of 3D objects. The segmentation is followed by 3D texture feature extraction performed on a group of normal and malignant prostate nuclei. Student's t-test results show a statistically significant differentiation between malignant and normal cells in many of the 3D texture features used showing the effectiveness of the proposed approach for quantifying nuclei state of malignancy

Short-term load forecasting has become increasingly important since the rise of the competitive energy markets and has become one of the major areas of research in recent years. Toward to this important topic, this paper proposes a new approach- the self-organizing fuzzy neural network (SOFNN) modeling method for the short-term load forecasting. The main advantages of this approach are that, firstly, it is very user friendly as SOFNN can automatically determine the model structure and identify the model parameters without requiring the in-depth knowledge about fuzzy systems and neural networks; secondly, it provides the excellent forecasting accuracy. Applying this approach based on the real data, the achieved average mean absolute percentage error (MAPE) for load forecasting is less than 1%.

In practical wireless systems, the design of linear MIMO transceivers should be robust to imperfect channel state information (CSI), especially in multiuser systems where accurate CSI is difficult to obtain. This paper considers the case in which the CSI is perturbed at both sides of the link. In such a case, it is possible to optimally design robust MIMO transceivers to minimize the average sum MSE of all the data streams and the users. For systems with a sum power constraint, our robust design can be shown to be a convex SDP problem; for systems with individual power constraints, our robust design is based on an underlying SDP problem.

In this paper, an S-parameter measurement based modeling methodology is proposed for characterization of coupled interconnects on silicon substrate. First, a set of single transmission lines in ground-signal-ground configuration is measured and modeled as multiple Gamma-sections. A pair of coupled lines is then modeled as two single lines interconnected by coupling capacitance, mutual inductance and mutual resistance. Asymptotic techniques and closed-form analytical expressions are used to determine the initial guesses for optimization of the model parameters of single and coupled lines. It is found that in extending the single line model to the coupled lines, only a couple of model parameters need to change due to the proximity effect. Further, the time-domain crosstalk is measured for Cu/oxide and Cu/Ultra low-kappa interconnects and analyzed using the proposed model. Good agreement is found between the simulated and measured results in both the frequency and the time domains for different lengths, widths and spacing (for coupled-lines) confirming the accuracy of the modeling methodology. The compact modeling approach presented here facilitates accurate characterization and modeling of coupled interconnects based on measured S-parameters data.

In this paper, we employ probabilistic neural network (PNN) with image and data processing techniques to implement a general purpose automated leaf recognition for plant classification. 12 leaf features are extracted and orthogonalized into 5 principal variables which consist the input vector of the PNN. The PNN is trained by 1800 leaves to classify 32 kinds of plants with an accuracy greater than 90%. Compared with other approaches, our algorithm is an accurate artificial intelligence approach which is fast in execution and easy in implementation.

Recommendation system is one of the most important technologies applied in e-commerce. Similarity measuring method is fundamental to collaborative filtering algorithm, and traditional methods are inefficient especially when the user rating data are extremely sparse. Based on the outstanding characteristics of Cloud Model on the process of transforming a qualitative concept to a set of quantitative numerical values, a novel similarity measuring method, namely the likeness comparing method based on cloud model (LICM) is proposed in this paper. LICM compares the similarity of two users on knowledge level, which can overcome the drawback of attributes' strictly matching. This work analysis traditional methods throughly and puts forward a novel collaborative filtering algorithm, which is based on the LICM method. Experiments on typical data set show the excellent performance of the present collaborative filtering algorithm based on LICM, even with extremely sparsity of data.

Recently, Internet connectivity in mobile ad hoc network (MANET) has been studied extensively in order to support ubiquitous Internet services to MANET users and provide interworking with other networks such as wireless local area network (WLAN) and cellular networks to extend the coverage of these networks. Although there have been a lot of works on connecting MANET with Internet, few works have been performed on the detailed performance analysis of the effect of routing path discovery for Internet connection from MANET with reactive routing protocol such as ad hoc on demand distance vector (AODV) protocol from the aspect of routing discovery delay and control overhead. In this paper, we propose a hierarchical mobile AODV6 network architecture, which combines the concept of hierarchical Mobile IPv6 and AODV ad hoc routing protocol. In the proposed architecture, Internet gateway performs the role of mobility anchor point (MAP) of hierarchical mobile IP (HMIP), and a novel routing path discovery and data delivery scheme is proposed by managing address information of connected nodes in Internet gateway. Then, the performance of the proposed scheme is analyzed in terms of routing path discovery overhead and control packet overhead for Internet connection from AODV6 node. The result shows that the proposed scheme has lower control packet overhead and routing path discovery delay compared with conventional AODV6 scheme
