The challenges in measuring and recording the power loss in magnetic components are critical and require attention. This is based on the development of new grid topologies, inverters/rectifiers and the associated progress in semiconductor technology, e.g. gallium nitride (GaN) semiconductors, which increase the switching frequencies for chokes and enable use in higher frequency ranges. Conventional precision power meters reach their measuring limits and deliver increasingly higher inaccuracies of >10%. In order to offer an alternative in measurement technology, a closed single-chamber calorimeter has been developed, which can measure a power loss of 1000 W at a current of up to 500 A with a frequency range of 25 kHz. The single-chamber calorimeter determines this power loss via the heat dissipation of a device under test (DUT) in a homogeneous environment to a cooling circuit and the measuring chamber walls, taking into account potential error variables such as the heat loss via the electrical conductor of the DUT, varying thermal properties of the cooling media or additional interfering heat sources (fans to generate the homogeneous airfield within the measuring chamber). In the future, the system will be expanded to include a variably adjustable operating temperature and a dynamic software code for recording the varying thermal properties of the air in the measuring chamber. © VDE VERLAG GMBH · Berlin · Offenbach

The NiCr micro-heater is a key element of MEMS-based electro-explosive device (mEED), while electrostatic discharge (ESD) may excite the micro-heater accidentally. To discover mechanism that how the ESD excitations effect on heat response performance of NiCr micro-heater, electro-thermal conversion process was numerically modelled by using commercial software. Three different shapes of micro-heaters, including rectangular, V-shape and square ones, are designed, and a series of simulation models are built under ESD events of 25kV, 5000ω, 500pF and 25kV, 500ω, 150pF. Heat response performance of NiCr micro-heater with different shapes and sizes were numerically computed under the said ESD events and compared with. The critical safety value at which LTNR and copper azide would not be ignited accidentally were calculated according to the fitted formulas. Conclusions are that maximum temperature decreases exponentially with increase of width of rectangular micro-heater, decreases exponentially with increase of wm and α of V-shape micro-heater, and decreases exponentially with increase of length or width of square micro-heater. The ESD event of 25kV, 500ω, 150pF is a more severe case for micro-heater than ESD event of 25kV, 5000ω, 500pF. These results could supply critical data to guide the design of MEMS -based EED for ESD protection. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

The determination of the bank angle profile is crucial for Mars atmospheric entry guidance. A significant limitation of existing bank angle profile construction methods is their neglect of the dynamic process of the bank angle. This paper introduces a novel parameterized bank angle profile construction method using deep operator networks (DeepONet). Initially, a design strategy for parameterized bank angle profiles, considering the dynamic characteristics of the bank angle, is presented. The bank angle profile is then modeled as an operator dependent on specific parameters. The DeepONet, which is tailor-made for learning operators, is utilized to construct parameterized bank angle profiles of unknown analytical forms. To handle rapid changes in the bank angle, Fourier feature layers are incorporated into the network to encode the time inputs. Numerical simulations demonstrate that the proposed network can effectively approximate the desired bank angle profile. In the guidance design, using the proposed network-based parameterized bank angle profile can effectively reduce the deviation between the predicted and actual flight states. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper presents an experimental evaluation of an Active Snubber Cell (ASC), developed to reduce switching losses for a PV boost converter with a nominal output power of 50 kW. The presented evaluation compares a conventional hard-switching boost converter with an ASC boost converter, focusing on the effects of the ASC on the main switch as well as a comparison of the overall losses with and without the ASC. The reported findings are based on Double Pulse Tests (DPT) measurements. © VDE VERLAG GMBH · Berlin · Offenbach.

Traditional wireless sensor privacy data measurement and classification process has the problems of low accuracy and very time-consuming. A new wireless sensor privacy data measurement and classification model is proposed. The measurement module of the model establishes two levels of privacy measurement elements from three dimensions, calculates the weight of level privacy elements by using Shannon information entropy, and obtains the privacy quantity of each data privacy measurement element in the data set. With the help of internet of things technology, the privacy data measurement and classification model of wireless sensor is designed. The experimental results show that the misjudgement rate of this model is very low, less than 5%, and the misjudgement error is kept below 10%. Using this model to protect the wireless sensor privacy data, the data running cost and time cost show a low level, has a certain application value. Copyright © 2023 Inderscience Enterprises Ltd.

Diabetes is a chronic disease caused due to metabolic disorder and management of diabetes can be understood by glucose- insulin dynamics. The mathematical models of differential equation describe the various aspects of diabetes, including glucose- insulin dynamics, management and complications of diabetes, parameter estimation and their effectiveness are growing day by day. Here, we discussed numerous mathematical models based on delay differential equation dealing with various aspects of diabetes and using parameter estimation techniques of the last few decades. The underground mining environment is one of the most hazardous for workers. Monitoring the miner's location precisely is essential for the miner's safety in this situation. Roof collapses, toxic gas releases and crashes of vehicles in mines are some of the factors that make this occupation more hazardous to human life than others. In order to determine the location of miners, however, a positioning system must be accurate and precise. The synchronization signal between transmitters and receivers is crucial in emergency situations. By using the synchronization signal, it is possible to prevent both data loss and misinterpretation. This article describes a method for combining visible light with an acoustic-based 2D positioning system. The developed proof-of-concept makes use of loudspeakers and a microphone as an acoustic transmitter and receiver, respectively. In addition, LED and LDR are used as transmitter and receiver for visible light. Using a timer circuit, synchronization has been achieved, and the transmitters are turned on sequentially using time division multiplexing. For the safety of miners, the system establishes the viability of using visible light as a synchronization signal and locates the miner with an error of ± 3 cm. © 2023 IEEE.

Aluminum (Al)/Copper oxide (CuO) are mostly common thermites in energetic materials. However, the ignition and combustion of Al/CuO are constrained by the oxide shell coating on the Al core. Titanium (Ti) nanoparticles have been incorporated into Al/CuO system to tune their energetic behavior. The reactivity and combustion heat of Al/Ti/CuO ternary composites have been measured via combustion cell and calorimetry, respectively. The pressurization rate of Al/30% Ti/CuO (the molar percent of Ti in the fuel is 30%) and Al/70% Ti/CuO is 1 and 1.5 times greater than Al/CuO. Consequently, Ti nanoparticles are promising candidate for enhancinging the reactivity of Al/CuO thermites. The results also suggest that Ti nanoparticles could be employed as useful additive in Al-based thermites to tune their combustion behavior. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

In this work, a novel methodological approach to multi-attribute decision-making problems is developed and the notion of Heptapartitioned Neutrosophic Set Distance Measures (HNSDM) is introduced. By averaging the Penta-Partitioned Neutrosophic Distance Measures under particular conditional criteria, the suggested technique ranks the options. Additionally, we explore the fundamental characteristics of HNSDM and provide several illustrative theorems. The Heptapartitioned Neutrosophic Set Distance Measures are formulated based on the Hepta Neutrosophic Set. Lastly, a practical numerical example is provided to illustrate the efficacy of the suggested methodology. © 2025, University of New Mexico. All rights reserved.
