Consider a class of continues linear time-varying switched systems and study its sampled-data iterative learning control output tracking problem under event triggering. Firstly, in order to reduce the update batch of the control input in the direction of the iteration axis, an event-triggered sampled-data iterative learning control law is designed and the event-triggered conditions are derived by the Lyapunov function method. Secondly, a fixed threshold method is proposed to accelerate the convergence of the system. Then, according to the activation intervals of the switched subsystem,triggered and untriggered are analyzed for convergence, and the sufficient conditions for consistent convergence of the system are derived by the compression mapping method. Finally, the effectiveness of the algorithm is verified by the numerical simulation.

Cancer-associated biomarker genes play an indispensable role in the intricate tapestry of cancer development and manifestation. The expression of biomarkers in different types of tumor cells has beneficial implications for shedding light on the development of various cancers, guiding clinical diagnosis, and treatment. Microarray technology enables the expression levels of thousands of genes in samples to be sequenced simultaneously. However, sparse and high-dimensional microarray data present a formidable challenge in identifying biomarker genes. This study presents EREF-NSGA2, a novel method for cancer biomarker selection from microarray data, employing a hybrid gene selection approach. Firstly, the combination of the wrapper and embedded gene selection methods is proposed to filter the microarray data, which efficiently decreases the search space of the algorithm. After that, the improved NSGA-II algorithm is used to search the genes subset obtained from the previous step to reach the optimal subset of cancer biomarker genes. The proposed EREF-NSGA2 is compared with other reported methods on six cancer benchmark gene expression datasets. A detailed biological analysis is performed to analyze the relationship between the selected genes and the cancer data sets they belong to. To summarize, EREF-NSGA2 proves its effectiveness in selecting a feature subset comprising the fewest genes while maintaining the highest classification accuracy. © 2023 IEEE.

Camouflaged object detection (COD) remains a challenging task in computer vision. Existing methods often resort to additional branches for edge supervision, incurring substantial computational costs. To address this, we propose the Co-Supervised Spotlight Shifting Network (CS 3 Net), a compact single-branch framework inspired by how shifting light source exposes camouflage. Our spotlight shifting strategy replaces multi-branch designs by generating supervisory signals that highlight boundary cues. Within CS 3 Net, a Projection Aware Attention (PAA) module is devised to strengthen feature extraction, while the Extended Neighbor Connection Decoder (ENCD) enhances final predictions. Extensive experiments on public datasets demonstrate that CS 3 Net not only achieves superior performance, but also reduces Multiply-Accumulate operations (MACs) by 32.13% compared to state-of-the-art COD methods, striking an optimal balance between efficiency and effectiveness.

Nowadays, manufacturing companies face more difficulties than ever. Unrest in global supply chains triggered by fluctuating customer demand, raw material shortages and crises (Covid pandemic, global warming, wars) complicate the utilization of production resources necessary for economic success. Also, the rapidly changing environment causes existing production plans to be adapted, which results in order changes, causing additional costs for manufacturers. One solution to cope with these problems is cooperation and sharing resources: requesting capacity from partners when having shortages and offering them temporarily in case of excess capacity. In this paper, a platform-based resource sharing mechanism is investigated from the economic perspective. In the mechanism, requests and offers are matched by a central platform applying a complex matching logic. The platform provides valid alternatives based on the incoming ordersthat the requesting company can choose from. Companies are rating each other's performance after each interaction based on delivery accuracy;choosing between resource offers is made based on the cumulated rating about the offeror and the price of the offer. Within this paper, the aim is to investigate the resource sharing mechanism from the economic point of view based on an approach to the responsiveness of a supply chain structure to turbulence, to support decision-makers trying to cope with unexpected changes. For this purpose, here the mechanism is briefly introduced, and basic concepts about turbulences in supply chains are also presented. Cost types related to resource sharing manufacturing companies are distinguished, and the model is validated with agent-based simulation. A simulation experiment is performed to investigate the use-case of outsourced jobs having different price levels. Based on the experiment, it can be concluded that there is a price level limit in such a resource sharing federation, under which it is worth it to collaborate

Today, manufacturing companies are surrounded by constantly changing external influences. These entail the risk of inefficiencies in the operational process, especially when existing plans have to be adapted. A common trigger of such modifications are customer order changes. They cause unplanned costs, which endanger the profitability of the company. However, the estimation of these additional costs is complex and therefore missing in today's operation. This paper therefore defines customer order change types and determines their effects based on the Aachener PPS-Model. The individual processing areas of a customer order are described and mathematically formulated. Agent-based simulation is used to evaluate the critical change dimensions. Simulation experiments showed that the additional costs generated due to customer order changes decrease if the average relative date and quantity change are reduced. If both change scopes are reduced equally, in the case of reducing quantity, the additional costs are a slightly higher than in the case of reducing date change. © 2022 IEEE.

EARLY PREDICTION OF NATURAL GAS PIPELINE LEAKS USING THE MKTCN MODEL

Natural gas pipeline leaks pose severe risks, leading to substantial economic losses and potential hazards to human safety. In this study, we develop an accurate model for the early prediction of pipeline leaks. To the best of our knowledge, unlike previous anomaly detection, this is the first application to use internal pipeline data for early prediction of leaks. The modeling process addresses two main challenges: long-term dependencies and sample imbalance. First, we introduce a dilated convolution-based prediction model to capture long-term dependencies, as dilated convolution expands the model’s receptive field without added computational cost. Second, to mitigate sample imbalance, we propose the MKTCN model, which incorporates the Kolmogorov-Arnold Network as the fully connected layer in a dilated convolution model, enhancing network generalization. Finally, we validate the MKTCN model through extensive experiments on two real-world datasets. Results demonstrate that MKTCN outperforms in generalization and classification, particularly under severe data imbalance, and effectively predicts leaks up to 5000 seconds in advance. Overall, the MKTCN model represents a significant advancement in early pipeline leak prediction, providing robust generalization and improved modeling of the long-term dependencies inherent in multi-dimensional time-series data. The lithium-ion battery is increasingly critical in the fields of electric vehicles and sustainable energy. Accurate prediction of the Remaining Useful Life (RUL) of lithium-ion batteries is essential to mitigate risks and minimize potential losses. This paper introduces a novel fusion algorithm, FPSOGWO, which combines Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) and Grey Wolf Optimization (GWO) with an enhanced Circle chaos strategy and a random adaptive weighting strategy. The FPSOGWO algorithm, integrated with Support Vector Regression (FPSOGWO-SVR), was utilized to predict the RUL of health factors in lithium batteries. Compared to other optimization algorithms, FPSOGWO exhibits superior optimization speed and value, effectively overcoming issues of local optimality. Specifically, when benchmarked against the Whale Optimization Algorithm-SVR (WOA-SVR), the R-Square values of FPSOGWO-SVR showed improvements of 15.62%, 1.28%, 5.67%, and 10.65% across four different types of batteries. Experimental results demonstrate that FPSOGWO-SVR provides more accurate RUL predictions for lithium batteries, highlighting its potential for broader application in battery health management systems. © The Institution of Engineering & Technology 2024.

Grasp detection is an essential task in robotics with various industrial applications. However, traditional methods often struggle with occlusions and do not utilize language for grasping. Incorporating natural language into grasp detection remains a challenging task and largely unexplored. To address this gap, we propose a new method for language-driven grasp detection with mask-guided attention by utilizing the transformer attention mechanism with semantic segmentation features. Our approach integrates visual data, segmentation mask features, and natural language instructions, significantly improving grasp detection accuracy. Our work introduces a new framework for language-driven grasp detection, paving the way for language-driven robotic applications. Intensive experiments show that our method outperforms other recent baselines by a clear margin, with a 10.0% success score improvement. We further validate our method in real-world robotic experiments, confirming the effectiveness of our approach.

Turntable servo systems are important experimental equipment used for semi-physical simulation and testing of aircraft, which have very strict requirements for tracking performance. To achieve high-precision servo performance, some advanced model-based control methods have been used recently, but the control performance is greatly influenced by the accuracy of the model. Therefore, this paper proposes evolving temporal convolutional networks (TCNs) for accurately modeling turntable servo systems. Considering the advantages of TCNs in capturing local dependencies in sequence data and parallel computing, a TCN is adopted to compensate the unmodeled dynamics to significantly improve the accuracy of the existing dynamics model. Then, an evolutionary algorithm (EA) based architecture optimization algorithm for the above TCN model is proposed, and the network performance is continuously improved by simulating the population evolution in nature. Finally, the weight inheritance method is utilized to evaluate the performance of individuals during the evolution process to effectively improve the execution efficiency of the whole algorithm. In addition, the subnets inherited from the supernet meet the real-time requirements of the actual tasks by setting real-time constraints on the supernet. The experimental results demonstrate the superiority of the proposed model against the peer competitors in terms of the prediction performance. In addition, the proposed optimization algorithm also shows higher execution efficiency as verified by ablation experiments. © 2025 Elsevier B.V.

In this work, a novel reinforcement learning-based adaptive fault-tolerant control (FTC) scheme with actuator redundancy is presented for a nonlinear strict-feedback system with nonlinear dynamics and uncertainties. A learning-based switching function technique is established to steer different groups of actuators automatically and successively to mitigate the impact of faulty actuators by observing a switching performance index. The optimal tracking control problem (OTCP) of strict-feedback nonlinear systems is transformed into an equivalent optimal regulation problem of each affine subsystem via adaptive feedforward controllers. Subsequently, the designed objective functions associated with Hamilton–Jacobi–Bellman (HJB) estimate errors caused by neural network (NN) approximations can be minimized by the reinforcement learning algorithm without value or policy iterations. It is proved that the tracking objective can be achieved and all signals in the closed-loop system can be guaranteed to be bounded, as long as the minimum time interval between two successive failures is bounded. Theoretical results are verified by simulations.
