The semantic segmentation of point clouds is an important part of the environment perception for robots. However, it is difficult to directly adopt the traditional 3D convolution kernel to extract features from raw 3D point clouds because of the unstructured property of point clouds. In this paper, a spherical interpolated convolution operator is proposed to replace the traditional grid-shaped 3D convolution operator. This newly proposed feature extraction operator improves the accuracy of the network and reduces the parameters of the network. In addition, this paper analyzes the defect of point cloud interpolation methods based on the distance as the interpolation weight and proposes the self-learned distance-feature density by combining the distance and the feature correlation. The proposed method makes the feature extraction of spherical interpolated convolution network more rational and effective. The effectiveness of the proposed network is demonstrated on the 3D semantic segmentation task of point clouds. Experiments show that the proposed method achieves good performance on the ScanNet dataset and Paris-Lille-3D dataset. Copyright © 2020, The Authors. All rights reserved.

A variety of heterogeneous information is produced after the application of various emerging technologies in education, which is of great research value as educational assets. The traditional educational asset management system has emerged. In view of the disadvantages of traditional system centralization process, people begin to use decentralized blockchain technology for innovation. This paper proposes an educational digital asset management system architecture based on blockchain 3.0 technology system, which forms various data formed by students in and out of class learning process, courseware and experience data generated by teachers in the process of teaching into educational digital assets, and carries out the right confirmation and storage on the blockchain. The system can use a variety of heterogeneous data in digital assets to analyze the development status of school users, achieve the teaching purpose of teaching students according to their aptitude and different people.

The problem of the rapid creation of effective web applications of one class using formal means is considered. A conceptual approach to its solution is offered based on an analysis of the peculiarities of the construction of web applications. Our approach is based on defining the standard web application architecture and selecting its components using formal methods in accordance with user requirements. A formal logical system is proposed that uses the design of web applications as a process of outputting a formula specified according to the needs of the user, which defines the schemes of execution of the modules of the system. An important feature of this approach is the ability to visualise the process of designing the system in 3D, which creates the conditions for effective interaction between developers and machine development tools.

Multiple phase transitions in networks of directed networks

The robustness in real-world complex systems with dependency connectivities differs from that in isolated networks. Although most complex network research has focused on interdependent undirected systems, many real-world networks—such as gene regulatory networks and traffic networks—are directed. We thus develop an analytical framework for examining the robustness of networks made up of directed networks of differing topologies. We use it to predict the phase transitions that occur during node failures and to generate the phase diagrams of a number of different systems, including treelike and random regular (RR) networks of directed Erdős-Rényi (ER) networks and scale-free networks. We find that the the phase transition and phase diagram of networks of directed networks differ from those of networks of undirected networks. For example, the RR networks of directed ER networks show a hybrid phase transition that does not occur in networks of undirected ER networks. In addition, system robustness is affected by network topology in networks of directed networks. As coupling strength q increases, treelike networks of directed ER networks change from a second-order phase transition to a first-order phase transition, and RR networks of directed ER networks change from a second-order phase transition to a hybrid phase transition, then to a first-order phase transition, and finally to a region of collapse. We also find that heterogenous network systems are more robust than homogeneous network systems. We note that there are multiple phase transitions and triple points in the phase diagram of RR networks of directed networks and this helps us understand how to increase network robustness when designing interdependent infrastructure systems.

Modern power systems are evolving into sociotechnical systems with massive complexity, whose real-time operation and dispatch go beyond human capability. Thus,the need for developing and applying new intelligent power system dispatch tools are of great practical significance. In this paper, we introduce the overall business model of power system dispatch, the top level design approach of an intelligent dispatch system, and the parallel intelligent technology with its dispatch applications. We expect that a new dispatch paradigm,namely the parallel dispatch, can be established by incorporating various intelligent technologies, especially the parallel intelligent technology, to enable secure operation of complex power grids,extend system operators' capabilities, suggest optimal dispatch strategies, and to provide decision-making recommendations according to power system operational goals.

Many systems on our planet shift abruptly and irreversibly from the desired state to an undesired state when forced across a "tipping point". Some examples are mass extinctions within ecosystems, cascading failures in infrastructure systems, and changes in human and animal social networks. The ability to avoid such regime shifts or to recover quickly from such a non-resilient state demonstrates a system's resilience;system resilience is a quality that enables a system to adjust its activities to retain its basic functionality when errors and failures occur. In the past 50 years, attention has been paid almost exclusively to low-dimensional systems;scholars have focused on the calibration of the resilience functions of such systems and the identification of indicators of early warning signals based on two to three connected components. In recent years, taking advantage of network theory and the availability of lavish real datasets, network scientists have begun to explore real-world complex networked multidimensional systems, as well as their resilience functions and early warning indicators. This report presents a comprehensive review of resilience functions and regime shifts in complex systems in domains such as ecology, biology, society, and infrastructure. The research approach includes empirical observations, experimental studies, mathematical modeling, and theoretical analysis. The central aim of this research is to propose a solution to rehabilitate historic places using a robotic manipulator. In this pursuit, the objective is to clean flat or curved surfaces of mihrab/muqarnas and to write lost Arabic inscriptions on spandrel using 7 Degree of freedom (DOF) robotic manipulator. Inverse kinematics solution for 7 DOF is derived by fixing redundant joint and solving the remaining 6 DOF inverse kinematics. Image processing techniques are used to get data from the given image for the robotic calligraphy operation on the spandrel to restore the lost inscriptions. Path planning exercise is implemented to navigate the end-effector on the desired path to write lost inscriptions and to clean curved surfaces of muqarnas. Proposed solutions are verified by simulation using MATLAB. The results showed that the manipulator successfully tracked the given path to perform the desired operation in mihrab as well as calligraphy operation on spandrel.

We address efficient modeling of the intracellular action of a drug binding to the nuclear pregnane X receptor. The binded complex enters the cell nucleus and acts on DNA, resulting in enhanced production of an enzyme which metabolizes, among others, co-administered drugs. Pharmacodynamic modeling is traditionally based on a compartmental approach, which simplifies the complex processes in the human body through the definition of a small number of compartments representing organs, tissues, cells, cytoplasm or abstract units. Inside a compartment, the concentrations of all substances are assumed to be distributed homogeneously, i.e. there is no spatial dependence. They lead to a system of ODEs for the time-dependence of the concentrations of the active substances. We will present an extension of a model from the literature for the action of the tuberculose-drug Rifampicin. The extension consists of a first attempt to add spatial resolution for substances that are active in the cytoplasm. Spatial resolution can be benecifial to analyze important issues like, among others, local exceeding of toxic drug levels, delay of transport and drug-drug interactions. We address efficient solution of the linear systems arising when numerically integrating the resulting PDE's and consider some preconditioning techniques based on properties of the underlying biochemical network.

In a practical control system the process always has a time delay. The uncertainty in the knowledge of the time delay i.e. the delay mismatch strongly influences the quality of the closed-loop control. It can cause unwanted instability and influences the robustness of the control. Stability region applicable for this uncertainty is investigated in this paper in connection with the required performance and robustness. © 2018
