Numerous learning methods for fuzzy cognitive maps (FCMs), such as the Hebbian-based and the population-based learning methods, have been developed for modeling and simulating dynamic systems. However, these methods are faced with several obvious limitations. Most of these models are extremely time consuming when learning the large-scale FCMs with hundreds of nodes. Furthermore, the FCMs learned by those algorithms lack robustness when the experimental data contain noise. In addition, reasonable distribution of the weights is rarely considered in these algorithms, which could result in the reduction of the performance of the resulting FCM. In this article, a straightforward, rapid, and robust learning method is proposed to learn FCMs from noisy data, especially, to learn large-scale FCMs. The crux of the proposed algorithm is to equivalently transform the learning problem of FCMs to a classic-constrained convex optimization problem in which the least-squares term ensures the robustness of the well-learned FCM and the maximum entropy term regularizes the distribution of the weights of the well-learned FCM. A series of experiments covering two frequently used activation functions (the sigmoid and hyperbolic tangent functions) are performed on both synthetic datasets with noise and real-world datasets. The experimental results show that the proposed method is rapid and robust against data containing noise and that the well-learned weights have better distribution. RF chain reduction for MIMO systems: A hardware prototype

RF chain circuits play a major role in digital receiver architectures, allowing passband communication signals to be processed in baseband. When operating at high frequencies, these circuits tend to be costly. This increased cost imposes a major limitation on future multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) communication technologies. A common approach to mitigate the increased cost is to utilize hybrid architectures, in which the received signal is combined in analog into a lower dimension, thus reducing the number of RF chains. In this work we present a hardware prototype implementing analog combining for RF chain reduction. The prototype consists of a specially designed configurable combining board as well as a dedicated experimental setup. Our hardware prototype allows to evaluate the effect of analog combining in MIMO systems using actual communication signals. The experimental study, which focuses on channel estimation accuracy in MIMO channels, demonstrates that using the proposed prototype, the achievable channel estimation performance is within a small gap in a statistical sense from that obtained using a costly receiver in which each antenna is connected to a dedicated RF chain. Furthermore, in the considered scenarios, this gap becomes negligible when the reduction rate, i.e., the ratio of the number of RF chains to the number of antennas, is above 62.5%. In the blast furnace,due to the different changing frequency of different operations,and the different reaction time of gas,liquid and solid materials,there exists multi-timescale characteristics in the iron-making ***,not enough attention has been paid to this characteristic,most of the analyses on the blast furnace state before are under a fixed time ***,this paper makes a analysis of influencing factors on carbon monoxide utilization rate of blast furnace based on multi-timescale ***,the factors that affect the carbon monoxide utilization rate are analyzed from different time ***,in the short time scale,the individual influencing time scale of the permeability index,total pressure difference and top temperature is found by the support vector machine（SVM） *** in the long time scale,the influencing time scale of burdening is *** the validity of each model is verified by the field data of the blast furnace.

In this study, consensus problem for general high-order multi-agent systems with communication delay is investigated. Given the unstable agent dynamics and a known communication delay, two consensus protocols are designed to guarantee consensus over undirected network. By jointly researching the effects of agent dynamics and network topology, allowable delay bounds depending on the maxima of concave functions are easy to calculate. Especially, the maximum delay bound is derived when the network topology is completely connected. The main approach for the same involves designing the control gains on the basis of the solution of a parametric algebraic Riccati equation. Finally, the theoretical results are demonstrated via numerical simulations.

This paper proposes a robust iterative learning control method for the refining furnace alloy weighing process to solve the problem of the poor control accuracy and stability caused by the changing of alloy properties and the frequency of the vibration feeder. First, a two dimensional（2D） weighing model was established based on the analysis of the dynamic characteristics of alloy weighing process. Second, a control scheme is proposed for the 2D model of alloy weighing ***, a robust iterative learning controller is developed and a stability condition of the 2D system is derived through linear matrix inequality（LMI） obtained by a 2D Lyapunov-Krasovskii function. Finally, the simulation results show that the proposed method can sufficiently improve the control precision of the alloy weighing process.

Recently, generative adversarial networks(GANs)have become a research focus of artificial intelligence. Inspired by two-player zero-sum game, GANs comprise a generator and a discriminator, both trained under the adversarial learning *** goal of GANs is to estimate the potential distribution of real data samples and generate new samples from that *** their initiation, GANs have been widely studied due to their enormous prospect for applications, including image and vision computing, speech and language processing, etc. In this review paper, we summarize the state of the art of GANs and look into the future. Firstly, we survey GANs' proposal background,theoretic and implementation models, and application ***, we discuss GANs' advantages and disadvantages, and their development trends. In particular, we investigate the relation between GANs and parallel intelligence,with the conclusion that GANs have a great potential in parallel systems research in terms of virtual-real interaction and integration. Clearly, GANs can provide substantial algorithmic support for parallel intelligence.

Lane detection is a fundamental aspect of most current advanced driver assistance systems(ADASs). A large number of existing results focus on the study of vision-based lane detection methods due to the extensive knowledge background and the low-cost of camera devices. In this paper, previous visionbased lane detection studies are reviewed in terms of three aspects, which are lane detection algorithms, integration, and evaluation methods. Next, considering the inevitable limitations that exist in the camera-based lane detection system, the system integration methodologies for constructing more robust detection systems are reviewed and analyzed. The integration methods are further divided into three levels, namely, algorithm, system,and sensor. Algorithm level combines different lane detection algorithms while system level integrates other object detection systems to comprehensively detect lane positions. Sensor level uses multi-modal sensors to build a robust lane recognition system. In view of the complexity of evaluating the detection system, and the lack of common evaluation procedure and uniform metrics in past studies, the existing evaluation methods and metrics are analyzed and classified to propose a better evaluation of the lane detection system. Next, a comparison of representative studies is performed. Finally, a discussion on the limitations of current lane detection systems and the future developing trends toward an Artificial Society, Computational experiment-based parallel lane detection framework is proposed.

Computational prediction of the interaction between human leukocyte antigen (HLA) and peptide (pHLA) can speed up epitope screening and vaccine design. Here, we develop the TransMut framework composed of TransPHLA for pHLA binding prediction and AOMP for mutated peptide optimization, which can be generalized to any binding and mutation task of biomolecules. Firstly, TransPHLA is developed by using a Transformer-derived self-attention model to predict pHLA binding, which is significantly superior to 11 previous methods on pHLA binding prediction, neoantigen and human papilloma virus vaccine identification. For vaccine design, the AOMP program is then developed to automatically optimize mutated peptides to search for mutant peptides with higher affinity to the target HLA and with high homology to the source peptide. Among 3660 non-binding pHLAs, 3630 were successfully mutated. Of these, 94% were verified by the IEDB recommended method, and 88% have homology higher than 80% to the source peptide. © 2021, CC BY.

Recent years have witnessed much interest in Low Power Wide Area (LPWA) technologies, which are gaining unprecedented momentum and commercial interest towards the realisation of the Internet of Things (IoT). Long Range (LoRa), as a representative LPWA technology, has the potential to satisfy the growing demand for the longer range and larger amount connectivities in vehicular communication networks. In this paper, LoRa is firstly applied into two typical vehicular networks, namely Vehicle-to-Infrastructure (V2I)and Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V), and performance of LoRa schemes with different parameter configurations are evaluated and compared. Further, Monte Carlo simulations indicate that the schemes equipped with higher bandwidth or lower spreading factor exhibit significant advantages in combating the fast fading caused by Doppler effect in networks. © 2018 IEEE.
