Model-oriented safety analysis of dynamic technological systems

The paper deals with the safety analysis for dynamic technological systems. The analysis is performed in the phase of control system development. The SQMD method has been proposed to use for safety analysis of dynamical systems. We created models for safety-critical states of system using this method. The models are divided to qualitative and quantitative. Qualitative models are created by using of fuzzy logic. There we will use the knowledge and experience of safety analysis of similar systems. Quantitative models are constructed by using of differential and difference equations. Mathematical models are verified by simulation. Hybrid models for individual safetycritical states are constructed by synthesis of qualitative and quantitative models. Finally is performed on-line monitoring and fault detection in real system by using these hybrid models. © (2014) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

A filtering technique of neutron flux during the nuclear reactor restarting is presented in this paper. The nuclear reactor model is described by equation of inverse kinetics. The ionization chambers are used for neutron flux measure. To minimize the undesired noise of measurement the extended Kalman filter (EKF) method is used. The filter EKF is designed using the nuclear reactor model. © 2012 IEEE.

In the article are analyzed the possibilities of the real-time data exchange between small mount device (SMD) 'Assembleon Topaz X' and PLEX EPR information system. Main objective of the project was not only to design solution for the real-time data exchange for the SMD mentioned above, but also to design the standard applicable to all needful machines and PLCs in the factory which are or would be connected with PLEX ERP system (based on the proposed solution). The proposed solution and standard corresponds with the global aim - create extendable modular system for the real-time data integration of the production outputs, states and data with PLEX with all the benefits (e.g. extendibility, connectivity with the various systems and networks, connectivity with the various systems and networks etc.) © 2013 The Science and Information Organization.

Smart electricity grids are key to a successful transition towards a future sustainable energy system. Network topology processing (NTP) is an important and frequently reoccurring task in most power grid analysis and simulation applications' including power flow calculations, short circuit and contingency analysis. NTP is applied to a detailed node-break-er representation of the power grid, as provided by the IEC Common Information Model (CIM). It is performed in order to obtain a reduced bus-branch representation, which serves as input to downstream analysis and simulation applications. The present paper introduces a novel approach to NTP that utilises a semantic knowledge base for network model management and exploits semantic reasoning over the formal CIM ontology and instance data. The proposed system is tested on publicly available ENTSO-E data, validated by converting the generated bus-branch model to Matpower and running power flow calculations in a power grid modelling and simulation framework. © 2019 IEEE.

The most frequent research methods applied in various areas of scientific research are computer modelling and numerical simulation. The trend of using finite element method (FEM) gradually replaces classical methods of exploring phenomena. The method is suitable for investigating technical phenomena in the field of construction, mechanics and strength, as well as in other disciplines. Its suitability for the area of strength will be demonstrated in the current paper which presents solutions to various embeddings of a beam under bend. The beam was loaded with an external uniformly distributed load q(x) along its entire length. The research aim was to determine the maximum load and maximum deflection of the beam depending on the beam position and the material used. The beam under bend was selected as the most commonly used structural element. Analytical solution to bending moment and displacement forces is suitable for simple beam loads. Modelling and numerical simulations provide solution to complex problems and different load variations, while identifying changes in material properties of the structural element under consideration. The results are then evaluated and judged on the basis of the maximum strength of the structural material, while meeting the safety condition of the maximum load or maximum deflection. Modelling via FEM is a flexible research method applicable in all research areas. © 2018 Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

The need to de-carbonize the current energy infrastructure, and the increasing integration of renewables pose a number of difficult control and optimization problems. Among those, the optimal power flow (OPF) problem—i.e., the task to minimize power system operation costs while maintaining technical and network limitations—is key for operational planning of power systems. The influx of inherently volatile renewable energy sources calls for methods that allow to consider stochasticity directly in the OPF problem. Here, we present recent results on uncertainty quantification for OPF problems. Modeling uncertainties as second-order continuous random variables, we will show that the OPF problem subject to stochastic uncertainties can be posed as an infinite-dimensional L2-problem. A tractable reformulation thereof can be obtained using polynomial chaos expansion (PCE), under mild assumptions. We will show advantageous features of PCE for OPF subject to stochastic uncertainties. For example, multivariate non-Gaussian uncertainties can be considered easily. The article provides the general overview and base proposal of solution in the area of controlling the IT resources within the company. It points out some common deficits of integrating systems and running data transfers. Lack of functionality in some large systems is supplemented by using interim database and proposed SQL processing prior to data loads. Interim database is also used for storing the import result status and log functionality. © 2010 IEEE.

Federated learning (FL) has gained prominence in electroencephalogram (EEG)-based emotion recognition because of its ability to enable secure collaborative training without centralized data. However, traditional FL faces challenges due to model and data heterogeneity in smart healthcare settings. For example, medical institutions have varying computational resources, which creates a need for personalized local models. Moreover, EEG data from medical institutions typically face data heterogeneity issues stemming from limitations in participant availability, ethical constraints, and cultural differences among subjects, which can slow model convergence and degrade model performance. To address these challenges, we propose FedKDC, a novel FL framework that incorporates clustered knowledge distillation (CKD). This method introduces a consensus-based distributed learning mechanism to facilitate the clustering process. It then enhances the convergence speed through intraclass distillation and reduces the negative impact of heterogeneity through interclass distillation. Additionally, we introduce a DriftGuard mechanism to mitigate client drift, along with an entropy reducer to decrease the entropy of aggregated knowledge. The framework is validated on the SEED, SEED-IV, SEED-FRA, and SEED-GER datasets, demonstrating its effectiveness in scenarios where both the data and the models are heterogeneous. Experimental results show that FedKDC outperforms other FL frameworks in emotion recognition, achieving a maximum average accuracy of 85.2%, and in convergence efficiency, with faster and more stable convergence. © 2013 IEEE.

The goal of this work is to allow domain experts to properly perform data integration themselves and not to rely on external resources. This way the long-term data integration quality is not endangered and therefore cost for external resources can be saved. To achieve this, we propose a new approach that enables data integration based on entity-relationship (ER) models derived from arbitrary data sources. ER models are abstract and simply define all entities and relations needed for integration, which makes them easy to understand. Strategies to extract ER models from various standard data sources - relational databases, XML files and OWL data - are presented and a concept on how to extend it to arbitrary other data sources is introduced. Furthermore, the extracted models are a foundation to perform graphical data integration into an ontology based model and, thus, contribute to a harmonized knowledge management in heterogeneous data and information environments. It can be summarized as a strategy to improve the interoperability of existing data according to the FAIR principles. © 2024 by SCITEPRESS – Science and Technology Publications, Lda.
