The basis of this project is to investigate whether the YOLO, an object detection algorithm where 'You Only Look Once' constitutes the name, could be applied to develop FMCG management;together with the management of FMCG, it becomes the gateway to increasing retail precision, efficiency, and agility. Under real-time processing, the system detects and counts FMCG products on retail shelves with an accuracy rate of 92.5%. This accuracy ensures that the optimum stock levels are maintained and there will be no discrepancies. The system processes video feeds at 0.08 seconds per frame, thus allowing inventory data to be updated in real-time to enable quick, data-driven decisions. YOLO's flexibility ensures consistent performance across different store layouts and product types. This system integrates with other retail management tools and allows integrating inventory data in the real time. This means that it would be made available with invaluable insights which would prevent stock depletion while helping to curtail costs. This project takes YOLO ahead of just being a game changer in the FMCG inventory management while operating to reduce expenses and customer satisfaction due to product availability. © 2024 IEEE.

Multimodal contrastive learning for radiology report generation

Automated radiology report generation can not only lighten the workload of clinicians but also improve the efficiency of disease diagnosis. However, it is a challenging task to generate semantically coherent radiology reports that are also highly consistent with medical images. To meet the challenge, we propose a Multimodal Recursive model with Contrastive Learning (MRCL). The proposed MRCL method incorporates both visual and semantic features to generate "Impression" and "Findings" of radiology reports through a recursive network, in which a contrastive pre-training method is proposed to improve the expressiveness of both visual and textual representations. Extensive experiments and analyses prove the efficacy of the proposed MRCL, which can not only generate semantically coherent radiology reports but also outperform state-of-the-art methods. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature.

The Sign Language Recognition System has been designed to capture video input, process it to detect hand gestures, and translate these gestures into readable text. The project consists of several key components and steps: Video Processing: Using OpenCV, the system captures frames from the video input. MediaPipe processes these frames to detect and track hand landmarks in real time. OpenCV capabilities allow for efficient frame extraction and basic image processing tasks such as resizing and normalization. Hand Detection and Tracking: MediaPipe pre-trained models identify and track hand movements within the video frames. The accurate detection and tracking of the hand movements are critical for the subsequent recognition of the sign language gestures. Sign Language Recognition: The core system is the deep learning model, trained using the TensorFlow and Keras on a dataset of sign language gestures. The model learns to classify the detected hand movements into corresponding sign language characters or words. Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) are typically used for task due to their effectiveness in image recognition tasks. Text Display: Once the system recognizes the signs, it converts them into text and displays the output. This can be done through a console output or a graphical user interface (GUI) built with Tkinter. The GUI provides a user friendly experience, allowing users to see the translated text in real-time. © 2025 IEEE.

The traditional job recruitment process is time consuming and also undergoes certain difficulties such as data privacy, lack of transparency, and inefficient credential verification. These difficulties lead to mistrust and also delay the process of hiring. There is a need for improvement in this process that could benefit both the companies and the job applicants. In this paper, a decentralized recruitment platform based on blockchain technology is proposed. This proposed technique will overcome the above-mentioned difficulties by ensuring secure, transparent, and efficient connections between the recruitment companies and the prospective candidates. This solution uses the merits of blockchain i.e., immutability and automation to record job postings, applications, and hiring decisions on an immutable ledger, protecting personal data with cryptographic techniques and automating qualification verification with smart contracts. By implementing the decentralization concepts in Job recruitment, it is proven that the transparency in the interview process is improved by 9 0 and fraud risks are reduced considerably. Moreover, the efficiency of the entire job recruitment process is improved largely. Thus, the decentralized solution proposed in this paper demonstrates its potential in revolutionizing the job recruitment process by providing a secure, transparent and efficient hiring ecosystem. © 2024 IEEE.

Evaluation of convolutional neural network models’ performance for estimating mango crop yield

In agriculture, crop yield estimation is essential;producers, industrialists, and consumers all benefit from knowing the early yield. Manual mango counting typically involves the utilization of human labor. Experts visually examine each sample to complete the process, which is time-consuming, difficult, and lacks precision. For commercial mango production to produce high-quality fruits from the orchard to the consumer, a quick, non-destructive, and accurate variety classification is required. Because of its effectiveness in computer vision, a convolutional neural network—one of the deep learning techniques—was chosen for this investigation. For yield prediction, a total of eight popular mango cultivars were utilized. A comparison with previously trained models was used to assess the proposed model. The performance of the classifiers was evaluated using evaluation metrics such as accuracy, loss, area under the receiver operating characteristic curve score, precision, recall, F1-score, sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, negative predictive value, and Cohen’s Kappa performance measure. In terms of performance evaluation criteria, it was found that the proposed approach outperformed the pre-trained models. The suggested model achieved 98.85% accuracy in the test set, which had 800 images. This outcome demonstrates the tangible applicability of the proposed methodology for mango crop estimation. © (2025), (Society of Sytematic Innovation). All rights reserved.

Point-of-interest(POI)recommendations in location-based social networks(LBSNs)have developed rapidly by incorporating feature information and deep learning ***,most studies have failed to accurately reflect different users’preferences,in particular,the short-term preferences of inactive *** better learn user preferences,in this study,we propose a long-short-term-preference-based adaptive successive POI recommendation(LSTP-ASR)method by combining trajectory sequence processing,long short-term preference learning,and spatiotemporal ***,the check-in trajectory sequences are adaptively divided into recent and historical sequences according to a dynamic time ***,an adaptive filling strategy is used to expand the recent check-in sequences of users with inactive check-in behavior using those of similar active *** further propose an adaptive learning model to accurately extract long short-term preferences of users to establish an efficient successive POI recommendation system.A spatiotemporal-context-based recurrent neural network and temporal-context-based long short-term memory network are used to model the users’recent and historical checkin trajectory sequences,*** experiments on the Foursquare and Gowalla datasets reveal that the proposed method outperforms several other baseline methods in terms of three evaluation *** specifically,LSTP-ASR outperforms the previously best baseline method(RTPM)with a 17.15%and 20.62%average improvement on the Foursquare and Gowalla datasets in terms of the Fβmetric,respectively.

The interfaces between in-situ Al3Ti particles and magnesium(Mg)matrix are crucial role in highperformance titanium(Ti)reinforced AZ31 ***,the interfaces between Al3Ti particles and the Mg matrix are fabricated and investigated using advanced characterization tools and first-principles *** orientation relationship(OR)and atomic interface structure between the Al_(3)Ti particles and matrix are characterized using a high-resolution transmission electron *** OR is determined to be(1010)Mg//(001)Al3Ti;[1213]Mg//[100]*** on the characterized OR,the interface properties(including atomic structure,work of adhesion,interface energy,and fracture mechanism)are investigated using first-principles *** relaxed interface structure indicates that the TiAl-terminated bridge site configurations(MT1)and hollow site configurations(HCP1)are unstable and would convert into other bridge site configurations(MT).Furthermore,the work of adhesion and interface energy suggests that Al-terminated hollow site configurations(HCP)and bridge site configurations(MT)are more stable than other *** addition,the calculations of work of fracture show that fracture of the interfaces with Al-MT1,Al-HCP,and TiAl-MT configurations may initiate from bulk Mg *** findings may help to understand and tailor the deformation mechanisms and mechanical properties of Ti-reinforced Mg alloys.

FERMixNet: An Occlusion Robust Facial Expression Recognition Model with Facial Mixing Augmentation and Mid-Level Representation Learning

Facial expressions can provide a better understanding of people's mental status and attitudes towards specific things. However, facial occlusion in real world is an unfavorable phenomenon that greatly affects the performance of facial expression recognition models. Recent works addressing the occlusion problem have primarily relied on attention mechanisms or occlusion discarding methods that focus on non-occluded regions of the face. However, these methods have not achieved a good balance between occlusion robustness and model efficiency. In this paper, we propose a simple and efficient model, called FERMixNet, for occluded facial expression recognition. The model incorporates a novel facial mixing augmentation strategy (FERMix) that generates new training samples by simulating real-world facial occlusion and preserving high expression-related semantic information. By co-training the original and newly generated samples, the model's occlusion robustness is improved without increasing its complexity during inference. Additionally, to further enhance the model's occlusion robustness, we include mid-level representation learning in the network to learn the discriminative non-occluded local features of the samples with low computational cost. Extensive experiments on four public facial occlusion datasets: Occlusion-RAF-DB, Occlusion-FERPlus and FED-RO show that the proposed model achieves state-of-the-art results which demonstrates the good robustness of our method for occluded facial expression recognition. Meanwhile, the proposed model also achieves state-of-the-art results on the in-the-wild facial expression datasets RAF-DB, AffectNet-8, and AffectNet-7. It proves that the proposed model has good application prospects in real world. © 2010-2012 IEEE.

Categorisation by Leveraging CNNs and Remote Sensing Satellite Imagery for Crop Analysis in Arid Environments

The classification of walnuts in the dry areas of Ganquan Township, Awati County, Xinjiang, is investigated in this research using traditional approaches, remote sensing photos taken by satellite, and convolutional neural networks (CNNs). Thorough field sampling and the collecting of Landsat-8 Level-2 data were necessary for correct analysis due to the different environmental features of the research region, which presented major hurdles. Despite some early difficulties, CNN design revisions led to significant gains in classification accuracy. These modifications included AlexNet, VGG, GoogleNet, ResNet, and EfficientNetV2. When compared to more traditional approaches, ResNet and EfficientNetV2 stood up as the most successful models. Nevertheless, challenges including computational complexity and low-resolution imaging highlight the necessity for more research to improve detection efficiency without sacrificing accuracy. The study emphasises the need to keep looking for new ways to analyse and monitor crops, and it suggests that combining remote sensing with advanced machine learning methods could help improve precision agriculture management and increase crop yields in dry areas. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.
