TPE for JPEG images with Dynamic M-ary Decomposition and Adaptive Threshold Constraints

Traditional JPEG image encryption that prioritizes solely confidentiality fails to account for the pressing usability requirements of cloud-based environments, thus boosting the boom in thumbnail-preserving encryption (TPE) to balance image privacy and usability. However, existing TPE schemes for JPEG images face numerous challenges, such as insufficient security, inability to achieve lossless decryption, and high file extension. To address these challenges, we propose a TPE scheme based on dynamic M-ary decomposition and adaptive threshold constraints (TPE-MDTC). First, the valid ranges of quantized DC coefficients for JPEG images are determined. Then, a sum-preserving encryption method for quantized DC coefficients with compliance threshold constraints is designed using the bit-plane permutation to preserve thumbnails with high accuracy. Next, the introduction of dynamic M-ary decomposition effectively changes bit statistical characteristics preserved by bit-plane permutation, enhancing the ciphertext security. Finally, a quantized AC encryption method with RV (Run/Value) pair global permutation is proposed, effectively modifying the unit block features, thereby significantly improving the security and attack resistance of encrypted images. Experimental results show that the proposed TPE-MDTC scheme can reconstruct the original JPEG images without loss, and the generated ciphertext images exhibit significant advantages over previous schemes regarding file extension and security. © 1991-2012 IEEE.

The 3D generative adversarial network (GAN) inversion converts an image into 3D representation to attain high-fidelity reconstruction and facilitate realistic image manipulation within the 3D latent space. However, previous approaches face challenges regarding the trade-off between the reconstruction ability and editability. That is, reversing a real-world image to a low-dimensional latent code would inevitably lead to information loss, and achieving a near-perfect reconstruction using high-rate triplane representation often limits the ability to manipulate the image freely in the latent space. To address these issues, we propose a novel latent conditioning encoder-based framework with the alignment between the low-dimensional latent and high-dimensional triplane. A non-semantic guided editing strategy bridges the intrinsic relation between the latent condition and triplane generation, making it possible to edit the high-dimensional representation by latent manipulation. As a result, our method can achieve high-fidelity reconstruction and editing simultaneously by directly controlling the latent code. Experimental results demonstrate that our approach excels in reconstruction and editing quality compared to previous 3D inversion methods. Furthermore, our method can also edit even real faces with large poses and out-of-domain cases.

For efficient and high-fidelity local facial attribute editing, most existing editing methods either require additional finetuning for different editing effects or tend to affect beyond the editing regions. Alternatively, inpainting methods can edit the target image region while preserving external areas. However, current inpainting methods still suffer from the generation misalignment with facial attributes description and the loss of facial skin details. To address these challenges, (i) a novel data utilization strategy is introduced to construct datasets consisting of attribute-text-image triples from a data-driven perspective, (ii) a Causality-Aware Condition Adapter is proposed to enhance the contextual causality modeling of specific details, which encodes the skin details from the original image while preventing conflicts between these cues and textual conditions. In addition, a Skin Transition Frequency Guidance technique is introduced for the local modeling of contextual causality via sampling guidance driven by low-frequency alignment. Extensive quantitative and qualitative experiments demonstrate the effectiveness of our method in boosting both fidelity and editability for localized attribute editing. Synthetic aperture radar (SAR) tomography (TomoSAR) has garnered significant attention due to its capability for three-dimensional reconstruction. Compressed sensing (CS) methods are widely employed to address the TomoSAR inversion challenge. Nevertheless, practical applications reveal phase errors among different channels, resulting in defocusing and blurring when relying solely on CS for 3D reconstruction. Current state-of-the-art autofocus techniques suffer from prohibitive computational complexity, limiting their applicability to large-scale 3D imaging. In pursuit of efficient TomoSAR 3-D autofocusing, we proposed ASAMP-Net, an innovative deep unfolding network. Operating within a two-step framework, each layer comprises two stages: phase error estimation and iterative scattering coefficient reconstruction using the sparse adaptive matching pursuit (SAMP) algorithm. Additionally, phase error estimation is obtained through mathematical derivation, while challenges associated with fixed sparsity and limited efficiency in conventional methods are mitigated through deep learning techniques. Simulation experiments and real data validation affirm the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed method. © The Institution of engineering & Technology 2023.

With the substantial increase in image transmission,the demand for image security is ***-like images can be obtained by conventional encryption schemes,and although the security of the images can be guaranteed,the noise-like images cannot be directly previewed and *** on the rank-then-encipher method,some researchers have designed a three-pixel exact thumbnail preserving encryption(TPE2)scheme,which can be applied to balance the security and availability of images,but this scheme has low encryption *** this paper,we introduce an efficient exact thumbnail preserving encryption ***,blocking and bit-plane decomposition operations are performed on the plaintext *** zigzag scrambling model is used to change the bit positions in the lower four bit ***,an operation is devised to permute the higher four bit planes,which is an extended application of the hidden Markov ***,according to the difference in bit weights in each bit plane,a bit-level weighted diffusion rule is established to generate an encrypted image and still maintain the same sum of pixels within the *** results show that the proposed scheme improves the encryption efficiency and can guarantee the availability of images while protecting their privacy.

The FAQ system is to match the questions asked by the user with the questions in the FAQ library, and subsequently return the answers to the questions according to the smenatic similarity between questions. The existing matching methods of question pair are not specially designated for the OS domain and do not incorporate domain knowledge. The screenshots of Operating System provided by user usually contain important information, which can be uesed to improve the effectiveness of question matching method. In this paper, we evaluate the important of text in image with the highlighted evaluation, location evaluation, and text evaluation, and filter out important text for question matching. In order to use knowledge of Operation System, we introduce a pretraining model incorporating the domain knowledge that can be used for problem matching. In the experiment, the method with knowledge graph and image information can fully improve the accuracy rate, recall rate and F1 score of the matching reuslts compared to the mainstream method. © VDE VERLAG GMBH - Berlin - Offenbach.

We define the reduced biquaternion tensor ring (RBTR) decomposition and provide a detailed exposition of the corresponding algorithm RBTR-SVD. Leveraging RBTR decomposition, we propose a novel low-rank tensor completion algorithm RBTR-TV integrating RBTR ranks with total variation (TV) regularization to optimize the process. This paper is centered on gridless direction of arrival (DoA) estimation for single-snapshot data collected by non-uniform linear arrays (NLAs) in the context of automotive applications. While recent single-snapshot DoA estimation algorithms rooted in grid-based compressed sensing (CS) offer super-resolution capabilities, they are notably sensitive to discrepancies between the assumed sparsity basis and the actual basis. Furthermore, the existing atomic soft thresholding (AST) algorithm, a promising gridless sparse recovery technique within the Toeplitz model, is constrained to uniform linear arrays (ULAs) exhibiting Vandermonde structure in their array manifolds. However, in automotive scenarios, it becomes imperative to efficiently apply gridless DoA estimation to NLAs featuring non-Vandermonde array manifolds. In this paper, we introduce the non-Vandermonde atomic soft thresholding (NVAST) algorithm and employ it for DoA estimation in NLAs. The novel algorithm establishes a link between Vandermonde and non-Vandermonde atoms by decomposing non-Vandermonde vectors and addressing them using semi-definite programming (SDP). Simulation and measurement experiments conducted with automotive radars underscore the remarkable performance of our proposed method. © The Institution of engineering & Technology 2023.

DAMPER: A Dual-Stage Medical Report Generation Framework with Coarse-Grained MeSH Alignment and Fine-Grained Hypergraph Matching

Medical report generation is crucial for clinical diagnosis and patient management, summarizing diagnoses and recommendations based on medical imaging. However, existing work often overlook the clinical pipeline involved in report writing, where physicians typically conduct an initial quick review followed by a detailed examination. Moreover, current alignment methods may lead to misaligned relationships. To address these issues, we propose DAMPER, a dual-stage framework for medical report generation that mimics the clinical pipeline of report writing in two stages. In the first stage, a MeSH-Guided Coarse-Grained Alignment (MCG) stage that aligns chest X-ray (CXR) image features with medical subject headings (MeSH) features to generate a rough keyphrase representation of the overall impression. In the second stage, a Hypergraph-Enhanced Fine-Grained Alignment (HFG) stage that constructs hypergraphs for image patches and report annotations, modeling high-order relationships within each modality and performing hypergraph matching to capture semantic correlations between image regions and textual phrases. Finally,the coarse-grained visual features, generated MeSH representations, and visual hypergraph features are fed into a report decoder to produce the final medical report. Extensive experiments on public datasets demonstrate the effectiveness of DAMPER in generating comprehensive and accurate medical reports, outperforming state-of-the-art methods across various evaluation metrics. Given the critical role of rotating machinery in industrial cyber-physical systems (ICPS), ensuring their reliable operation is essential for the stability and safety of ICPS. Deep neural networks have demonstrated competitive results for intelligent fault diagnosis, which are usually trained via the historical data of all fault modes. However, in real engineering, it is usually difficult to collect samples and exhaust all failures during the training stage. As a result, out-of-distribution fault diagnosis (OOD-FD) becomes a more realistic problem that requires the methods to not only accurately diagnose the known faults, but also effectively recognize unknown ones. Therefore, a novel orthogonal anchor clustering with focal attention (FA-OAC) is proposed in this paper for OOD-FD. Firstly, an orthogonal anchor clustering (OAC) algorithm is proposed to fix the class center of each fault mode orthogonally and distinguish the known and unknown faults at the class level. Then, because the identifiability of different fault modes changes a lot in OOD-FD, the focal attention mechanism is applied to dynamically adjust the attention to different fault modes according to the distance loss of OAC, thus addressing the identifiability imbalance problem. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed method, different OOD-FD tasks are designed based on two rotating machinery datasets. The experimental results and comparison with state-of-the-art fault diagnosis methods have demonstrated that the proposed method has improved the OOD-FD performance greatly and therefore provides an effective tool in real engineering. © 2023 IEEE.
