Two-Stage OD Flow Prediction for Emergency in Urban Rail Transit

Urban rail transit (URT) is vulnerable to natural disasters and social emergencies including fire, storm and epidemic (such as COVID-19), and real-time origin-destination (OD) flow prediction provides URT operators with important information to ensure the safety of URT system. However, hindered by the high dimensionality of OD flow and the lack of supportive information reflecting the real-time passenger flow changes, study in this area is at the beginning stage. A novel model consisting of two stages is proposed for OD flow prediction. The first stage predicts the inflows of all stations by Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) in real time, where the dimension is reduced compared with predicting OD flows directly. In the second stage, the notion of separation rate, namely, the proportion of inbound passengers bounding for another station, is estimated. Finally, The OD flow is predicted by multiplying the inflow and separation rate. Experiments based on Hangzhou Metro dataset show the proposed model outperforms the contrast model in weighted mean average error (WMAE) and weighted mean square error (WMSE). Results also suggest that the proposed prediction model performs better on weekdays than on weekends, and with greater accuracy on larger OD flows. © 2000-2011 IEEE.

This paper addresses the problem of localizing a stationary RF emitter with a mobile UAV, equipped with a single directional antenna. By rotating around its vertical axis, it determines a bearing towards the emitter. Our interest is in optimally selecting the measurement positions to achieve a fast localization. The majority of such systems described in the literature use greedy planning to select the next measurement position. This work experimentally tests an algorithm that performs a non-myopic planning until the final localization step. The algorithm is based on the policy rollout principle and showed good performance in previous simulative studies. It is adapted to match the needs of a real world setup and evaluated in flight trials. Adaptions include the avoidance of close range measurements to prevent inaccurate measurements at high elevation, and the filtering of poor measurements.

Previous studies have shown that there is potential semantic dependency between part-of-speech and semantic *** the same time,the predicate-argument structure in a sentence is important information for semantic role labeling *** this work,we introduce the auxiliary deep neural network model,which models semantic dependency between part-of-speech and semantic roles and incorporates the information of predicate-argument into semantic role *** on the framework of joint learning,part-of-speech tagging is used as an auxiliary task to improve the result of the semantic role *** addition,we introduce the argument recognition layer in the training process of the main task-semantic role labeling,so the argument-related structural information selected by the predicate through the attention mechanism is used to assist the main *** the model makes full use of the semantic dependency between part-of-speech and semantic roles and the structural information of predicate-argument,our model achieved the F1 value of 89.0%on the WSJ test set of CoNLL2005,which is superior to existing state-of-the-art model about 0.8%.

This paper explores the size-invariance of evaluation metrics in Salient Object Detection (SOD), especially when multiple targets of diverse sizes co-exist in the same image. We observe that current metrics are size-sensitive, where larger objects are focused, and smaller ones tend to be ignored. We argue that the evaluation should be size-invariant because bias based on size is unjustified without additional semantic information. In pursuit of this, we propose a generic approach that evaluates each salient object separately and then combines the results, effectively alleviating the imbalance. We further develop an optimization framework tailored to this goal, achieving considerable improvements in detecting objects of different sizes. Theoretically, we provide evidence supporting the validity of our new metrics and present the generalization analysis of SOD. Extensive experiments demonstrate the effectiveness of our method. Computing the optimal solution to a spatial filtering problems in a Wireless Sensor Network can incur large bandwidth and computational requirements if an approach relying on data centralization is used. The so-called distributed adaptive signal fusion (DASF) algorithm solves this problem by having the nodes collaboratively solve low-dimensional versions of the original optimization problem, relying solely on the exchange of compressed views of the sensor data between the nodes. However, the DASF algorithm has only been shown to converge for filtering problems that can be expressed as smooth optimization problems. In this paper, we explore an extension of the DASF algorithm to a family of non-smooth spatial filtering problems, allowing the addition of non-smooth regularizers to the optimization problem, which could for example be used to perform node selection, and eliminate nodes not contributing to the filter objective, therefore further reducing communication costs. We provide a convergence proof of the non-smooth DASF algorithm and validate its convergence via simulations in both a static and adaptive setting.

A four-port multi-input multi-output (MIMO) dielectric resonator (DR) antenna (DRA) is presented in this paper. Combing four rectangular DRs together can form a single DR element. With shape modification and conformal strips, the four ports can be decoupled. To verify the design idea, a transparent prototype can be designed and fabricated for 2.4-GHz band applications. The measured results show an impedance bandwidth of 5.8% and an isolation level of 24 dB. © 2024 IEEE.

Speech enhancement plays an essential role in various applications, and the integration of visual information has been demonstrated to bring substantial advantages. However, the majority of current research concentrates on the examination of facial and lip movements, which can be compromised or entirely inaccessible in scenarios where occlusions occur or when the camera view is distant. Whereas contextual visual cues from the surrounding environment have been overlooked: for example, when we see a dog bark, our brain has the innate ability to discern and filter out the barking noise. To this end, in this paper, we introduce a novel task, i.e. Scene-aware AudioVisual Speech Enhancement (SAV-SE). To our best knowledge, this is the first proposal to use rich contextual information from synchronized video as auxiliary cues to indicate the type of noise, which eventually improves the speech enhancement performance. Specifically, we propose the VC-S2E method, which incorporates the Conformer and Mamba modules for their complementary strengths. Extensive experiments are conducted on public MUSIC, AVSpeech and AudioSet datasets, where the results demonstrate the superiority of VC-S2E over other competitive methods. X-ray diffraction is employed to characterize the black phosphorus/bismuth oxysulfide/tungsten trioxide heterojunction composites to explore the alterations in crystallite size and micro-strain. The sample is immersed in sodium sulfite and tested each week. The Scherrer formula and Williamson-Hall plots are used to explore the effect of black phosphorus on improving the stability of the bismuth oxysulfide/tungsten trioxide heterojunction. The results show that the structure of black phosphorus/bismuth oxysulfide/tungsten trioxide heterojunction has changed as follows. The value of crystallite size of tungsten trioxide decreases from 13.82 nm to 9.23 nm, then to 7.45 nm per week, while the value of compressive micro-strain of WO3 increases from -2.02×10-3 to -7.58×10-3, then to -8.93×10-3. It illustrates that the lattice constant of WO3 is compressed due to the lattice mismatch. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

In the past several years,remarkable achievements have been made in the field of object *** performance is generally improving,the accuracy of small object detection remains low compared with that of large object *** addition,localization misalignment issues are common for small objects,as seen in GoogLeNets and residual networks(ResNets).To address this problem,we propose an improved region-based fully convolutional network(R-FCN).The presented technique improves detection accuracy and eliminates localization misalignment by replacing positionsensitive region of interest(PS-RoI)pooling with position-sensitive precise region of interest(PS-Pr-RoI)pooling,which avoids coordinate quantization and directly calculates two-order integrals for position-sensitive score maps,thus preventing a loss of spatial precision.A validation experiment was conducted in which the Microsoft common objects in context(MS COCO)training dataset was *** showed an accuracy improvement of 3.7%for object detection tasks and an increase of 6.0%for small objects.

Diabetic retinopathy (DR), with its large patient population, has become a formidable threat to human visual health. In the clinical diagnosis of DR, multi-view fundus images are considered to be more suitable for DR diagnosis because of the wide coverage of the field of view. Therefore, different from the previous single-view DR grading methods, we design a dynamic selection-driven multi-view DR grading method to fit clinical scenarios better. Since lesion information plays a key role in DR diagnosis, previous methods usually boost the model performance by enhancing the lesion feature. However, during the actual diagnosis, ophthalmologists not only focus on the crucial parts, but also exclude irrelevant features to ensure the accuracy of judgment. To this end, we introduce the idea of dynamic selection and design a series of selection mechanisms from fine granularity to coarse granularity. In this work, we first introduce an Ophthalmic Image Reader (OIR) agent to provide the model with pixel-level prompts of suspected lesion areas. Moreover, we design a Multi-View Token Selection Module (MVTSM) that prunes redundant feature tokens and dynamically selects key information. In the final decision stage, we dynamically fuse multi-view features through the novel Multi-View Mixture of Experts Module (MVMoEM), to enhance key views and reduce the impact of conflicting views. Extensive experiments on a large multi-view fundus image dataset with 34,452 images prove that our method performs favorably against state-of-the-art models.
