The discrete element method(DEM)is used to analyze complex practical granular systems;however,the representation of real shapes is an important consideration because behavior of non-spherical particles is unlike that of spherical particles both individually and *** this study,we use non-uniform rational basis-splines(NURBS)to describe the shapes of non-spherical particles and introduce a contact detection scheme based on quadratic convergence,to simulate the behaviors of elliptical *** simulation results are compared with those based on polygons,in terms of the shape description and contact treatment,to demonstrate the high accuracy and efficiency of NURBS-based DEM.

In scenarios where multiple parties such as the Internet of Things and Supply Chains participate in data sharing and computing, when accessing data, users not only need to accept the forward access control of the data owner, but also needs to perform reverse access control on the data, so as to realize two-way access control. In the traditional blockchain, all users can participate in accounting and view transaction data, and only protect user privacy through 'pseudo-Anonymity'. The access rights of different users cannot be distinguished, which cannot meet the user's two-way access control needs. However, most of the existing blockchain-based access control schemes are one-way access control, which cannot meet the needs of users for two-way access control in scenarios such as the Internet of Things and Supply Chains. Therefore, it is particularly important to design a two-way access control mechanism suitable for application in the blockchain. On this basis, this paper proposes a dual strategy attribute-based encryption (ABE) scheme for distributed outsourcing. This scheme combines two existing schemes, ciphertext-policy ABE and key-policy ABE, and proposes two access structures and a structure of attribute sets. The primary access structure and the secondary attributes are stored in the ciphertext, and the secondary access structure and the primary attributes are stored in the user's private key. Only when the primary attribute set satisfies the primary access structure and the secondary attribute set satisfies the secondary access structure can the user unlock the ciphertext. This scheme has no single authorization center;instead, blockchain nodes jointly participate in authorization. In addition, the proposed scheme outsources the encryption and decryption of the ciphertext to blockchain nodes to reduce the computing pressure on users and can adapt to the decentralized environment of the blockchain and provide users with two-way access control services. There are some defects on the surface of steel that are difficult to detect, so we propose an improved algorithm based on YOLOv8 for detecting defects that are difficult to be detected. This improvement includes the introduction of an SPD module to minimize the problem of information loss due to downsampling; the addition of a small object detection head combined with EMA attention to further enhance the detection capabilities for small targets; the use of BiFPN to replace the original PANet, applying different weights to different features to strengthen feature fusion. Experiments were conducted on the NEU-DET dataset, and the algorithm improved mAP to 80.2%, an improvement of 3.9% over the baseline model.

When matching similarity among pedestrians in images, pedestrian re-identification algorithms are often disturbed by occlusions. A typical tactic is to improve the robustness of occlusion features in the model. However, this approach neglects the noise introduced by other pedestrians in the image, leading to limited learning of relevant information between images. To address these issues, this paper introduces a pedestrian re-identification model that leverages perception-enhanced and attention mechanisms. By enhancing the perception of non-pedestrian noise and erasing non-pedestrian features, we then employ a cross-attention mechanism to subtly embed global and local features for finer feature recognition. Finally, through context attention, we learn the interaction between pedestrian images to improve re-identification accuracy. Results from studies performed on the Market-1501, CUHK03-D, and Duke-ReID datasets indicate that the suggested model surpasses leading contemporary models regarding Rank-1 scores and mean Average Precision (mAP), while maintaining good robustness.

Joint Task Scheduling and Container Image Caching in Edge Computing

In Edge Computing (EC), containers have been increasingly used to deploy applications to provide mobile users services. Each container must run based on a container image file that exists locally. However, it has been conspicuously neglected by existing work that effective task scheduling combined with dynamic container image caching is a promising way to reduce the container image download time with the limited bandwidth resource of edge nodes. To fill in such gaps, in this paper, we propose novel joint Task Scheduling and Image Caching (TSIC) algorithms, specifically: 1) We consider the joint task scheduling and image caching problem and formulate it as a Markov Decision Process (MDP), taking the communication delay, waiting delay, and computation delay into consideration;2) To solve the MDP problem, a TSIC algorithm based on deep reinforcement learning is proposed with the customized state and action spaces and combined with an adaptive caching update algorithm. 3) A real container system is implemented to validate our algorithms. The experiments show that our strategy outperforms the existing baseline approaches by 23% and 35% on average in terms of total delay and waiting delay, respectively. Copyright © 2023, The Authors. In formal concept analysis, attribute exploration is a very important methodology, which can explore the logical laws between attributes in a continuous and interactive way. Object-oriented exploration is very meaningful while it is similar to attribute exploration. It can explore the implication relationship between objects. But for the existing work, almost all are attribute exploration, object-oriented exploration is rare. Research on object-oriented exploration has great practical value, such as object classification, retrieval and excavation. In order to address this problem, this article takes the object as the main research point in formal concept analysis based on related knowledge of traditional attribute exploration, and proposes theories of object-oriented exploration. According to these related theories and the framework of attribute exploration algorithm, an object-oriented exploration algorithm is proposed in this paper. The algorithm can be used to explore and understand the relationship between objects, which facilitates to understand better the relationship between objects and attributes.

In view of the problem that it is dithcult to establish the mathematical model of elevator group control system and the optimization effect of traditional control method is not ideal,a group control model based on fuzzy control is ***,we analyze the basic principle of elevator group control system,then we elaborate the algorithm flow of elevator group control system scheduling optimization,and finally,we verify the algorithm in the simulation platform based on Visual Studio,and the simulation results show that fuzzy control can effectively solve the scheduling optimization problem of elevator group control system.

In brain-computer interface or neuroscience applications, generalized canonical correlation analysis (GCCA) is often used to extract correlated signal components in the neural activity of different subjects attending to the same stimulus. This allows quantifying the so-called inter-subject correlation or boosting the signal-to-noise ratio of the stimulus-following brain responses with respect to other (non-)neural activity. GCCA is, however, stimulus-unaware: it does not take the stimulus information into account and does therefore not cope well with lower amounts of data or smaller groups of subjects. We propose a novel stimulus-informed GCCA algorithm based on the MAXVAR-GCCA framework. We show the superiority of the proposed stimulus-informed GCCA method based on the inter-subject correlation between electroencephalography responses of a group of subjects listening to the same speech stimulus, especially for lower amounts of data or smaller groups of subjects.

The Mu3e experiment searches for the lepton flavor violating decay µ+ → e+ e+ e− with an ultimate aimed sensitivity of 1 event in 1016 decays. This goal can only be achieved by reducing the material budget per tracking layer to X/X0 ≈ 0.1 %. High-Voltage Monolithic Active Pixel Sensors (HV-MAPS) which are thinned to 50 µm serve as sensors. Gaseous helium is chosen as coolant. Results of recent studies related to the sensor prototypes, the helium cooling, and module prototyping are presented. The recent chip submission MuPix10 has proven its functionality regarding efficiency and time resolution. The helium cooling system for the inner tracker could be verified using a full-scale prototype. A complete prototype equipped with MuPix10 chips will be tested inside the Mu3e magnet in summer 2021. © LCWS *** right reserved.
