Code plagiarism poses a significant challenge in programming communities, necessitating effective detection mechanisms. This paper introduces a novel system that employs Abstract Syntax Trees (ASTs) for code representation and comparison. The system utilizes ASTs to capture the structural essence of code, facilitating a comprehensive analysis of code similarity, it offers flexibility for application across multiple programming languages. In addition to leveraging the Levenshtein Distance Algorithm for Python code comparison, the system incorporates node counting for other languages such as Java and C/C++. By integrating AST-based representation and a combination of comparison techniques, the system offers a robust solution for identifying plagiarized code instances accurately across various programming environments. Through a detailed exploration of the system's methodology, this paper underscores its potential to address the pervasive issue of code plagiarism in programming communities. © 2024 IEEE.

Twitter plays an important role in understanding the consumer sentiment about the products. The advanced analytics and Natural Language Processing (NLP) are used to extract actionable insights from this data and useful for a business to improve features and address issues on time for better customer satisfaction and brand loyalty. Most of the current models suffer from a lack of effective ways to handle subtle sentiment analysis because of a lack of contextual understanding and proper feature extraction. Most traditional models cannot combine and optimize features that lead to obtaining sentiments. This leads to overfitting and problems caused by local minima. The proposed Emotion-Enhanced BERT (EE-BERT) model is an extension of the standard BERT to learn contextual embeddings in user sentiment. In this work, data preprocessing includes text cleaning, tokenization, dealing with emojis and emoticons, and lemmatization with the best quality data. The proposed work is basically a dual-stream architecture extended with butterfly optimizer. First, the advanced tokenization and semantic understanding techniques is used for extracting textual features. Second, the emotion-enhanced features extracted through emotion-hash vectorization to enhance the model's contextual awareness in social media data. This provides a unified framework that combines the feature extraction methods to enhance the accuracy in sentiment analysis. It demonstrated with an impressive accuracy of 98.2% on sentiment in posts and comments with 0.15 losses. The proposed work is free from overfitting and local minima in product quality enhancement. © 2024 IEEE.

Universal and Efficient Adversarial Training Framework with Membership Inference Resistance

Adversarial training is an effective approach to enhance the robustness of machine learning models via adding adversarial examples into the training phase. However, existing adversarial training methods increase the advantage of membership inference attacks, which aim to determine from the model whether an example is in the training dataset. In this paper, we propose an adversarial training framework that guarantees both robustness and membership privacy by introducing a tailor-made example called reverse-symmetry example. Moreover, our framework reduces the number of required adversarial examples compared with existing adversarial training methods. We implement our framework using four adversarial training methods on the FMNIST and CIFAR10 datasets and compare its performance with deep learning differential privacy. Our experimental findings demonstrate that our framework mitigates model overfitting and outperforms the original adversarial training with respect to the overall performance of accuracy, robustness, privacy, and runtime. © 2014 IEEE.

A theoretical methodology is suggested for finding the malaria parasites’presence with the help of an intelligent hyper-parameter tuned Deep Learning(DL)based malaria parasite detection and classification(HPTDL-MPDC)in the smear images of human peripheral *** existing approaches fail to predict the malaria parasitic features and reduce the prediction *** trained model initiated in the proposed system for classifying peripheral blood smear images into the non-parasite or parasite classes using the available online *** Adagrad optimizer is stacked with the suggested pre-trained Deep Neural Network(DNN)with the help of the contrastive divergence method to *** features are extracted from the images in the proposed system to train the DNN for initializing the visible *** smear images show the concatenated feature to be utilized as the feature vector in the proposed ***,hyper-parameters are used to fine-tune DNN to calculate the class labels’*** suggested system outperforms more modern methodologies with an accuracy of 91%,precision of 89%,recall of 93%and F1-score of 91%.The HPTDL-MPDC has the primary application in detecting the parasite of malaria in the smear images of human peripheral blood.

CrossFi: A Cross Domain Wi-Fi Sensing Framework Based on Siamese Network

In recent years, Wi-Fi sensing has garnered significant attention due to its numerous benefits, such as privacy protection, low cost, and penetration ability. Extensive research has been conducted in this field, focusing on areas such as gesture recognition, people identification, and fall detection. However, many data-driven methods encounter challenges related to domain shift, where the model fails to perform well in environments different from the training data. One major factor contributing to this issue is the limited availability of Wi-Fi sensing datasets, which makes models learn excessive irrelevant information and over-fit to the training set. Unfortunately, collecting large-scale Wi-Fi sensing datasets across diverse scenarios is a challenging task. To address this problem, we propose CrossFi, a siamese network-based approach that excels in both in-domain scenario and cross-domain scenario, including few-shot, zero-shot scenarios, and even works in few-shot new-class scenario where testing set contains new categories. The core component of CrossFi is a sample-similarity calculation network called CSi-Net, which improves the structure of the siamese network by using an attention mechanism to capture similarity information, instead of simply calculating the distance or cosine similarity. Based on it, we develop an extra Weight-Net that can generate a template for each class, so that our CrossFi can work in different scenarios. Experimental results demonstrate that our CrossFi achieves state-of-the-art performance across various scenarios. In gesture recognition task, our CrossFi achieves an accuracy of 98.17% in in-domain scenario, 91.72% in one-shot cross-domain scenario, 64.81% in zero-shot cross-domain scenario, and 84.75% in one-shot new-class scenario. Electrochemical extraction of strontium from molten salts using reactive zincand aluminum electrodes

Herein, the electrochemical behaviors of Sr on inert W electrode and reactive Zn/Al electrodes were systematically investig-ated in LiCl–KCl–SrCl2molten salts at 773 K using various electrochemical methods. The chemical reaction potentials of Li and Sr on re-active Zn/Al electrodes were determined. We observed that Sr could be extracted by decreasing the activity of the deposited metal Sr onthe reactive electrode, although the standard reduction potential of Sr(II)/Sr was more negative than that of Li(I)/Li. The electrochemicalextraction products of Sr on reactive Zn and Al electrodes were Zn13Sr and Al4Sr, respectively, with no codeposition of Li *** on the density functional theory calculations, both Zn13Sr and Al4Sr were identified as stable intermetallic compounds with Zn-/Al-rich phases. In LiCl–KCl molten salt containing 3wt% SrCl2, the coulombic efficiency of Sr in the Zn electrode was ~54%. The depolar-ization values for Sr on Zn and Al electrodes were 0.864 and 0.485 V, respectively, exhibiting a stronger chemical interaction between Znand Sr than between Al and Sr. This study suggests that using reactive electrodes can facilitate extraction of Sr accumulated while elec-trorefining molten salts, thereby enabling the purification and reuse of the salt and decreasing the volume of the nuclear waste.

Task 2 of eRisk 2023 shared-tasks challenge at Conference and Labs of the Evaluation Forum (CLEF) was to focus on the early detection of pathological gambling via sequential text processing over social media conversations. The challenge organizers have released different datasets, consisting of social media posts and questionnaires, for all three tasks. The BioNLP research group at the Indian institute of science Education and Research Bhopal (IISERB) participated in task 2 of the challenge and submitted five runs that for five different text mining frameworks. The performance of different text classification frameworks and their effectiveness in detecting signs of pathological gambling are demonstrated in this paper. Several classifiers and feature engineering schemes are combined to build individual frameworks. The features from free text are generated following the bag of words model and transformer based embeddings methods. Subsequently, adaptive boosting, logistic regression, support vector machine, and transformer based classifiers were used to identify the signs of pathological gambling from the social media posts. The experimental analysis demonstrates that the support vector machine and adaptive boosting classifier respectively using the entropy and TF-IDF weighting scheme of the bag of words outperforms the other methods on the training set. Furthermore, the adaptive boosting classifier following TF-IDF-based weighting scheme achieves the best precision score among all other submissions of task 2 of erisk 2023. However, the rest of the frameworks could not achieve reasonable performance which needs to be introspected in future. © 2023 Copyright for this paper by its authors.

Effective monitoring of the environment over a large area will require mobilization of a considerable amount of information. Otherwise, the use of traditional methods will prove to be costly and would take up so much time. Also, assessing the land cover changes between two times is one of the other methods which can be adopted to measure the environmental sustainability. Using ML techniques for predictive modeling in remote sensing has emerged as a useful approach in solving some of the environmental and climatic challenges. This research proposes a novel method in remote sensing image-based climate detection utilizing cloud computing and machine learning algorithms. Here, the cloud computing module is used in the collection of remote sensing images for the detection of climate changes. Then, the collected image is processed for noise removal as well as normalization. The processed image is segmented, and features are extracted utilizing a fuzzy K-clustering-based contour Gaussian model with graph cut Boltzmann CNN. Experimental analysis is carried out for various remote sensing-based climate change datasets in terms of training accuracy, random precision, AUC, recall, and F-measure. The proposed technique obtained 97% of training accuracy, 95% of random precision, 96% of recall, 93% of AUC, and 94% of F-measure. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2025.

The pandemic creates a more complicated providence of medical assistance and diagnosis procedures. In the world, Covid-19, Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus-2 (SARS Cov-2), and plague are widely known pandemic disease desperations. Due to the recent COVID-19 pandemic tragedies, various medical diagnosis models and intelligent computing solutions are proposed for medical applications. In this era of computer-based medical environment, conventional clinical solutions are surpassed by many Machine Learning and Deep Learning-based COVID-19 diagnosis models. Anyhow, many existing models are developing lab-based diagnosis environments. Notably, the Gated Recurrent Unit-based Respiratory data Analysis (GRU-RE), Intelligent Unmanned Aerial Vehicle-based Covid data Analysis (Thermal Images) (I-UVAC), and Convolutional Neural Network-based Computer Tomography Image Analysis (CNN-CT) are enriched with lightweight image data analysis techniques for obtaining mass pandemic data at real-time conditions. However, the existing models directly deal with bulk images (thermal data and respiratory data) to diagnose the symptoms of COVID-19. Against these works, the proposed spectacle thermal image data analysis model creates an easy and effective way of disease diagnosis deployment strategies. Particularly, the mass detection of disease symptoms needs a more lightweight equipment setup. In this proposed model, each patient's thermal data is collected via the spectacles of medical staff, and the data are analyzed with the help of a complex set of capsule network functions. Comparatively, the conventional capsule network functions are enriched in this proposed model using adequate sampling and data reduction solutions. In this way, the proposed model works effectively for mass thermal data diagnosis applications.
