An equalizer of a room acoustic frequency responses is presented in this paper. Such equalizers often require the usage of a large number of weights adaptive filter that means a large computational complexity of the filter and the equalizer. The considered equalizer uses the modified x-filtered Recursive Least Squares (RLS) adaptive filter. The computationally efficient fast RLS adaptive filters are often unstable if the number of their weights is large. That is why such filters are not suitable for the application in the room equalizers. The Matrix Inversion Lemma (MIL) RLS adaptive filters are stable but they are computationally complex in such applications. The equalizer presented in this paper uses a simplified MIL RLS adaptive filter. The correlation matrix of the filter is diagonalized. Besides, each of a square submatrix at the diagonal of the simplified correlation matrix are inverted using the computationally efficient version of the MIL which takes into consideration the symmetrical structure of these submatrices. The simulation proves the operability of the equalizer and demonstrates the efficiency of the simplified equalizer comparting to its full version. The demonstration includes different pictures like the frequency responses, power spectral densities and signal waveforms. © 2023 IEEE.

The article is devoted to the analysis of methods for solving systems of multivalued logical equations by iteration methods. Iterative methods for solving such systems of equations are a mathematical description of the main process of functional-logical simulation, which is used at the design stage of digital systems to check the correctness of the design. Consideration of multivalued (finite-valued) values of logical signals at the outputs of blocks and elements of digital systems is explained by the fact that in a number of cases, to analyze the correctness of time relationships when simulating of digital system hardware, several-valued representations of binary logical signals are used, as well as those that recently, the development of logical elements that implement four or more significant logic is underway. Based on the analysis of the structure of the system of logical equations used in digital equipment simulation, using graph and logical models, an analysis of the existence of solutions and their number is carried out. Iterative methods of simple and generalized iteration are analyzed, the relationship between the number of solutions to a system of equations and its graph representation, reflecting a given connection scheme of elements of a digital system hardware, is shown. For the generalized iteration method, variants with different structures of the iteration trace are considered, in particular, it is shown that with a certain structure of the iteration trace, the generalized iteration turns into a simple iteration or Seidel iteration. It is shown that the generalized iteration most adequately describes the process of simulating the switching of logical signals in digital system hardware. The correspondence between various variants of functional-logical simulation of digital systems and the used method of iterative solution of systems of logical equations is shown. © 2020 IEEE.

Based on the analysis of the features of modern digital systems, the structure of a system for joint hardware/software simulation on functional-logic level are described. The purpose of the simulation is to debug a design of digital system before production. A hardware mathematical model is proposed, taking into account the peculiarities of modern digital systems, namely: The presence of bidirectional buses, high-impedance state of the outputs, internal memory of blocks. It is shown that the joint hardware/software simulation is reduced to solving systems of logical equations at each cycle of simulation. © 2021 IEEE.

In digital system design, it is necessary to check the infallibility of the design and to eliminate errors, if any. This process is called design debugging. It requires a debugging object, debugging modes for digital system functioning, a set of tests representing all modes of digital system functioning, the opportunity to define the correctness of output and internal variables of the debugging object and possibilities to correct the design. design debugging can be done on a hardware prototype or computer model of a digital system. Intermediate approaches include prototyping only non-typical electronic blocks and connecting them with a typical hardware core or adding special hardware blocks to the computer model of a digital system. All abovementioned components of the debugging process are discussed for four cases of debug objects representing digital system. Fundamental possibility, convenience, cost and efficiency are considered. It is shown that the most universal and convenient approach is to use the computer model of a digital system design as a debug object. This approach could be used for any structure and architecture of a digital system. Nevertheless, other approaches are also used. © 2022 IEEE.

The problem of taking into account the thermal processes in high-performance microcircuits based on heterostructural bipolar transistors (HBT) is considered. A new thermal model of the HBT is suggested, which differs from the known BJT504t model by the addition of thermal resistance and thermal capacity. The means to decrease the thermal resistance of the HBT and to correct the electrothermal coupling in the comparator are suggested. Simulation of the comparator using the simplified model of the transistor in a wide temperature range showed that the use of compensation makes it possible to attain a decrease in the magnitude of hysteresis by a factor of 10. © Pleiades Publishing, Ltd., 2012.

Abstract: The transition from planar MOSFET structures to 3D FinFET structures provides resistance to various types of radiation. However, the characteristics of irradiated devices created at different manufacturers differ significantly, and it is rather difficult to explain the dependence of the radiation resistance of FinFE-T structures on variations in their physical and topological parameters and electrical modes. We develop a radiation version of the TCAD model of a FinFET MOSFET on bulk silicon. Additional semiempirical radiation dependences specific for FinFET structures for the effective mobility of charge carriers and the concentration of traps in the volumes of SiO2 and HfO2 oxides and at the oxide–silicon interfaces are introduced in the basic model of a nanometer MOSFET. The model is implemented in the Sentaurus Synopsys TCAD environment. The model is validated on a test set of FinFET structures with a channel length of 60 to 7 nm without irradiation and in the range of gamma irradiation doses up to 1 Mrad. A comparison of the static current-voltage characteristics obtained by simulation with the experimental results showed an error not exceeding 15%. © 2022, Pleiades Publishing, Ltd.

This paper considers an Adaptive Antenna Array (AAA), which weights are shared with those of a Feed-Forward (FF) part of the channel equalizer and the array output signal is combined with that of the Feed-Backward (FB) part of the equalizer. The array and this distributed equalizer operate as an indivisible adaptive filter, providing a good performance and an ability to receive a multipath data signal in the presence of external interference sources. The architecture of the array/equalizer and mathematical description of the Recursive Least Mean Squares (RLS), Least Mean Square (LMS) and Normalized LMS (NLMS) algorithms for weights calculation of the adaptive filter are presented. The simulation results demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed solution. © 2020 IEEE.

This paper presents an algorithm of the signal source angular location tracking. The tracking is carried out by means of an antenna array. Traditional angular tracking is based on the usage of a monopulse (sum and difference) architecture which combines the output signals of the directional antennas (with mechanical or electronic steering). This requires the usage of a few antennas and a combiner of the antenna output signals. The algorithm, presented in this paper, allows to find the signal source angular location using only one directional antenna that is the antenna array. It is assumed the usage of the antenna array with the digital beamforming. However, the analog phased array can be used as well. This is because the algorithm is based on the processing of the antenna array output signal estimates after the changing (perturbations) only the phases of the array channel signals. This changing can be done by means of the phased shifters in a phased array or by means of the complex-valued weights with the unity absolute values in an antenna array with the digital beamforming. The paper considers the usage of the algorithm in a linear antenna array. To improve the signal-to-noise ratio, the array output samples are processed by a correlator or a matched filter. For this reason, the measured signal must be a pseudo noise sequence. The paper describes the proposed algorithm and the simulation results that confirm the algorithm's operation and demonstrate its efficiency. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper presents computational procedures for implementation of multi-beam adaptive antenna arrays with digital beamforming. The weights of the arrays are calculated using the Linearly Constrained Inverse QR Decomposition Recursive Least Squares adaptive filtering algorithms. Two versions of the algorithms are presented: With and without square roots arithmetic operations. The algorithms are fitted to the antenna arrays with odd symmetry. This symmetry allows to develop the adaptive filtering algorithms with most of the computations in real-valued arithmetic. This saves the number of the arithmetic operations required per algorithm iteration. Besides, this implementation decreases the transient response duration and improves the steady-state interference cancellation for about 3 dB in terms of the depths of the radiation pattern gaps towards the interference sources. The efficiency of the proposed solution is demonstrated via simulation of interference cancellation using a rectangular flat adaptive antenna array. © 2021 IEEE.

This paper considers the usage of the fast Recursive Least Squares (RLS) adaptive filtering algorithms for the weights calculation in the combined adaptive unit, which consists of an antenna array and a channel equalizer. The weights of the fractionally-spaced Feed-Forward (FF) filter of the equalizer are split and used simultaneously as the antenna array weights. The array output signal is combined with that of the Feed-Backward (FB) filter of the equalizer. Because the FF filter operates at the up-sampled rate and the FB filter of the equalizer operates at the symbol rate, the multichannel fast RLS algorithms cannot be used in the considered adaptive unit directly. It is proposed to use a polyphase representation of the FF filter to solve this problem. In this case, the architecture of the adaptive unit is presented as a multichannel adaptive filter with unequal number of weights in channels. The paper considers the architecture of the adaptive unit and the details of its FF part. The mathematical details of the multichannel fast RLS algorithm (Fast Kalman, FK), used for the adaptive unit weights calculation, are presented. The simulation of the array/equalizer demonstrates the ability of the proposed unit to steer the main lobe of the antenna array radiation pattern towards the desired signal source without a priory search of the source angular location and, at the same time, to remove the signals of the external interferences and the intersymbol interference in the array output signal. The simulation has been carried out, using a linear array with 16 omnidirectional antennas. It operates in the condition of-30 dB Signal-to-Interference Ratio and 10..30 dB Signal-to-Noise Ratio. The array receives the Phase Shift Keying (8-PSK) desired signal, passed through a two-rays communication channel with about-65 dB gaps in the channel amplitude-frequency response. © 2020 IEEE.
