Evaluating the similarity degree of digital watermarks

The popular formulas currently used to evaluate the similarity of digital watermarks have serious drawbacks: when the similarity degree is 1, the watermarks are not unique. This paper firstly analyze the drawbacks in the popular formulas. Then proposes a new formula similarity degree, which eliminates the shortcomings of the existing formulas and overcome the lack of uniqueness in theory. From the experiment results the new formula not only does well in evaluating the watermark's similarity degree, also is in good accordance with visual perception. © 2010 Binary Information Press.

Unlike a B'ezier curve,a spline curve is hard to be obtained through geometric corner cutting on control polygons because the degree elevation operator is difficult to be obtained and geometric convergence is hard to be *** order to obtain geometric construction algorithm on C-B-splines,firstly we construct the degree elevation operator by using bi-order splines in this *** we can obtain a control polygon sequence by degree elevation based on the degree elevation operator derived from a C-B-spline ***,we prove that this polygon sequence will converge to initial C-B-spline *** geometric construction algorithm possesses strong geometric *** is also simple,stable and suitable for hardware to *** algorithm is important for CAD modeling systems,since many common engineering curves such as ellipse,helix,*** be represented explicitly by C-B-splines.

The convergence analysis for the rational Bézier curves

This article considers the limit of a rational Bézier curve. Limits are considered using point-wise, uniform and L1 limits to a family of rational Bézier curves. The paper shows that a rational Bézier curve dose not uniformly converge on [0, 1] to its point-wise limit, when one of the weight goes to infinity. The goal of this paper is to clarify the ambiguity between the viewpoint of Goldman [1] and Piegl [2] on the limit of a rational Bézier curve. Adaptive feature selection and extraction approaches for image retrieval based on region

image retrieval based on region is one of the most promising and active research directions in recent year's CBIR, while region segmentation, feature selection and feature extraction of region are key issues. However, the existing approaches always adopt a uniform approach of segmentation and feature extraction for all images in the same system. In this paper, we propose adaptive image segmentation and feature extraction approach according to different category image for image retrieval system. To improve performance, we propose adaptive segmentation approach according to different category image. Textured image is segmented by Gaussian Mixture Models (GMM), while non-textured image is segmented by our proposed block-based normalized cut. To accurately describe feature of region, we propose weight assignment method for centroid pixel and its neighbor by convolution with normal distribution when image segmentation by GMM. To improve generalization, we propose adaptive number of Fourier descriptors of shape signature which depends on the energy distribution of Fourier descriptors, instead of fixed number by experience. To simply and efficiently describe the spatial relationships of multi-object or multi-region in same image, we apply simplified topological relationships. The experiments demonstrate that proposed approaches are superior to the traditional approaches. © 2010 ACADEMY PUBLISHER.

Automatic image annotation is an active topic and difficult task in computer vision domain, which has attracted more and more researchers' attention. Many approaches have been proposed to automatically annotate images. To improve the annotation quality, most of them have profound principlessophisticated modelsand high time complexities. How to efficiently annotate image is becoming one key issue in the field of computer vision. We propose a very efficient and effective approach called keyword vector classification approach, whose model is very simple. Experiments on Corel5K dataset show that the annotation performance of the our proposed approach is almost four times better than translation model and twice better than CMRM (in terms of precision, recall and F1) while the time cost of ours surprisingly decreases. In addition, to our knowledge, our proposed approach outperforms most of existing ones in terms of N+. © 2011 ISSN 1881-803X.

We propose a novel Markovian segmentation model which takes into account edge information. By construction, the model uses only pairwise interactions and its energy is submodular. Thus the exact energy minima is obtained via a max-flow/min-cut algorithm. The method has been quantitatively evaluated on synthetic images as well as on fluorescence microscopic images of live cells. © 2010 IEEE.

Skeleton extraction is essential for general shape representation. A typical skeletonization algorithm should obtain the ability to preserve original object's topological and hierarchical properties. However, most of current methods are high memory cost, computationally intensive, and also require complex data structures. In this paper, we propose an efficient and accurate skeletonization method for the skeleton feature points extracted from human body based on silhouette images. First, the gradient of distance transform is used to detect critical points inside the foreground. Then, we converge and simplify critical points in order to generate the most important and elegant skeleton feature points. Finally, we present an algorithm which connects the skeleton feature points and estimates the position of skeleton joints. © 2010 IEEE.

Traditional display fashions of housing design mainly depend on static pictures, which are short of the intuition of house space and do not support interaction during design periods. This paper proposes a virtual housing design experience platform consist of a cheap hardware VR environment and housing design software system we developed. With this design platform, a fast generating virtual house permits intuitive and precise interaction in the VR environment. Customers can modify the design of their home and have a pseudo experience of their virtual house in real time. The system will give advice on layout design, providing a complete and precise house space representation and the support for real time visualization. ©2010 IEEE.

Automatic image segmentation remains a challenging problem in the fields of computer vision, image analysis and understanding. A lot of algorithms and technologies have been proposed and developed for image segmentation, among which the N-cut has been a promising method and active research area due to better quality. But the N-cut can't process medium and large image dataset online due to incredible memory and time complexity. Moreover, the N-cut algorithm can't utilize texture information since its basic unit of clustering algorithm is pixel. To overcome the drawback and improve the description power, the paper proposes a block-based N-cut algorithm for image segmentation, whose basic unit of clustering is image block instead of individual pixel. Block-based algorithm not only decreases the time and storage complexity, but also improves the discrimination power of visual feature vector. The experiments demonstrate that proposed algorithm outperform the original N-cut algorithm in efficiency. Experiments show that the proposed block-based N-cut algorithm is more suitable for online processing large-scale data. © 2010 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.

In this paper we present a new cross-platform approach for video game delivery in wired and wireless local networks. The developed 3D streaming and video streaming approaches enable users to access video games on set top boxes and handheld devices that natively are not capable to run PC games. During the development of the distributed gaming system we have faced a number of challenges and problems posed by the hardware and network limitations. In order to solve these problems we have developed a multilevel testing methodology which is based on user assessment and technical measures for the system under development. In this paper we focus on the technical measures and instrumentation that we use for the system's performance measurement and testing. The benefits of our testing methodology are demonstrated through examples from the development and testing work. © 2010 IEEE.
