In our current work we have developed the homeML Application;a web based tool to support researchers engaged in the area of smart home research as they perform experiments. Within this paper the homeML Application is presented which includes the fundamental components of the homeML Repository and the homeML Toolkit. Results from a usability study conducted by 10 computer science researchers are presented;the initial results of which have been positive.

It is very challenging to compute the capacity region of a multi-radio multi-channel (MR-MC) network, which involves complex resource contention including the co-channel interferences and radio interface contentions. In this paper, we study the local sufficient rate constraints that can be constructed at each network node in a distributed manner to ensure a feasible flow allocation for the MR-MC network. The analysis of capacity region with the rate constraints is facilitated by our tool of multi-dimensional conflict graph (MDCG), which systematically describes all kinds of conflict relationships in an MR-MC network. Specially, we establish two types of local sufficient constraints, the neighborhood constraint and the sufficient clique constraint, respectively; and both types can ensure a constant portion of the optimal capacity region, termed as capacity efficiency ratio. The capacity efficiency ratios associated with the neighborhood constraint and the sufficient clique constraint are related to the analysis of the interference degree and the imperfection ratio of an MDCG, respectively. A specific challenge is that methodology computing the interference degree and the imperfection ratio of single-radio single-channel (SR-SC) networks could not be directly extended to the MR-MC context, because MR-MC network has disruptively different geometric properties compared to the SR-SC network: In an MR-MC network, the geometric closeness does not necessarily imply interference due to possible parallel transmissions over different radios and channels. The fundamental contributions of this paper are the theoretical studies of the interference degree and the imperfection ratio of an MDCG, revealing how such graphical characteristics are related to those in the SR-SC context under the impact of the MR-MC geometric property. We introduce a new type of superconducting charge qubit that has a V-shaped energy spectrum and uses quantum interference to provide independently tunable qubit energy and coherent coupling to a superconducting cavity. Dynamic access to the strong coupling regime is demonstrated by tuning the coupling strength from less than 200 kHz to greater than 40 MHz. This tunable coupling can be used to protect the qubit from cavity-induced relaxation and avoid unwanted qubit-qubit interactions in a multiqubit system.

It has been predicted that a processor's caches could occupy as much as 90% of chip area for technology nodes from the current. In this paper, we study the use of multi-level spin-transfer torque RAM (STT-RAM) cells in the design of processor caches. Compared to the traditional SRAM caches, a multi-level cell (MLC) STT-RAM cache design is denser, fast, and consumes less energy. However, a number of critical issues remains to be solved before MLC STT-RAM technology can be deployed in processor caches. In this paper, we shall offer solutions to the issue of bit encoding as well as tackle the write endurance problem. The latter has been neglected in previous works on STT-RAM caches. We propose a set remapping scheme that can potentially prolong the lifetime of a MLC STT-RAM cache by 80× on average. Furthermore, a method for recovering the performance that may be lost in some applications due to set remapping is introduced.
