Communication and collaboration are pivotal in today’s globalized and remote work environments. Traditional video conferencing solutions often struggle with diverse linguistic needs and high latency, leading to communication challenges. This paper presents a solution to overcome these limitations by optimizing WebRTC broadcasting for real-time, high-quality, and low-latency multilingual communication in virtual meetings. Recent improvements in WebRTC standards and the demise of flash technology have sped up the adoption of WebRTC for a range of media-based uses, such as broadcasting and video conferences. However, WebRTC’s lack of standardized signaling mechanisms has given rise to a variety of methods for building effective networks for users. The goal of this research is to develop a scalable architecture for video broadcasting to numerous users by optimizing peer-to-peer networks while addressing multilingual translation challenges. A modified partial mesh model with location-based signaling has been proposed in response to scalability issues with traditional mesh-based networks. Peers create connections in this model based on proximity, which lowers latency and boosts reliability. In comparison to standard models, the experimental results show that the modified partial mesh network significantly reduces broadcasters’ bandwidth consumption. It is acknowledged that there are scalability limitations with this model. A hybrid strategy that combines server-based solutions and the partial mesh model is examined as a workable way to solve this and scale beyond a certain user threshold. Overall, this paper focuses on efficient and scalable WebRTC broadcasting solutions, enhancing real-time multilingual communication in virtual meetings and addressing the challenges faced by traditional video conferencing systems.

Performance assessment and field-development planning for carbon geo-sequestration relies on reservoir simulation. The standard approach is to use regular (corner-point) grids in space and a fully implicit discretisation in time, solving for all primary unknowns at once using Newton’s method. While the former limits the physical realism of the simulation model built from the geomodel, the latter leads to a large ill-conditioned system of equations that is inefficient to solve. We overcome the regularisation issue via a hierarchy of fully unstructured, geobody-conforming, finite element meshes which can be refined until mesh convergence is achieved. To address the time discretisation issue we employ, for the first time, the linearly implicit extrapolation scheme (LIMEX) to solve the highly non-linear coupled two-phase flow and reactive transport equations. To solve the arising large sparse systems of linear equations, we apply the geometric multigrid (GMG) method that demonstrates optimal, linear complexity and allows an efficient parallelization on supercomputers. Another novel feature of our formulation is the consideration of the kinetics of mass transfer between the carbonic and aqueous phases. This approach removes the first-order dependence on mesh refinement of $$C\!O_2$$ that is dissolved, a characteristic feature of standard equilibrium models. We demonstrate the parallel scalability of our simulation framework with an implementation based on the UG4 platform. Proof-of-concept results accurately capture key features of $$C\!O_2$$ migration including filtration by capillary barriers and convective dissolution of $$C\!O_2$$ at the base of the plume.

Multi-Agent Performative Prediction Beyond the Insensitivity Assumption: A Case Study for Mortgage Competition

Performative prediction models account for feedback loops in decision-making processes where predictions influence future data distributions. While existing work largely assumes insensitivity of data distributions to small strategy changes, this assumption usually fails in real-world competitive (i.e. multi-agent) settings. For example, in Bertrand-type competitions, a small reduction in one firm’s price can lead that firm to capture the entire demand, while all others sharply lose all of their customers. We study a representative setting of multi-agent performative prediction in which insensitivity assumptions do not hold, and investigate the convergence of natural dynamics. To do so, we focus on a specific game that we call the "Bank Game", where two lenders compete over interest rates and credit score thresholds. Consumers act similarly as to in a Bertrand Competition, with each consumer selecting the firm with the lowest interest rate that they are eligible for based on the firms’ credit thresholds. Our analysis characterizes the equilibria of this game and demonstrates that when both firms use a common and natural no-regret learning dynamic—exponential weights—with proper initialization, the dynamics always converge to stable outcomes despite the general-sum structure. Notably, our setting admits multiple stable equilibria, with convergence dependent on initial conditions. We also provide theoretical convergence results in the stochastic case when the utility matrix is not fully known, but each learner can observe sufficiently many samples of consumers at each time step to estimate it, showing robustness to slight mis-specifications. The term MANET stands for Mobile Ad hoc Network. MANET is a structure of wireless communication network that is combined with various nodes that are movable in various directions in the network. They are accompanied with the absence of infrastructure which helps the nodes to interconnect with the neighboring one in a random fashion. They are highly dynamic in nature. The internet of things device have the ability to communicate with the various heterogeneous networks. These IoT nodes helps to communicate with each other without the need of infrastructure. The cloud helps to store the data and tends to transmit through the nodes in the network. The secure data transmission includes the intrusion detection system, neglecting malicious attacks and selfish nodes in the network. The secure data transmission system without any constraints helps in the improvement of overall efficiency of the system. This is done through the machine learning accompanied with genetic algorithm. These biologically inspired algorithms helps to obtain exact optimum solutions helps to provide secure data transmission. © 2023 IEEE.

A hybrid spoof planar plasmonic waveguide (HSPPW) is a microwave device that achieves strong field confinement and a significant reduction in plasma frequency by coupling the electromagnetic wave guided by a dielectric substrate and a structured metallic layer. It is formed by separating a structured metal from a surface plasmon polaritons surface by a small gap. In this research, we proposed a reconfigurable HSPPW-based beam-scanning antenna for fixed-frequency beam scanning. To validate this unique idea, rigorous simulations are performed, and compared with the theoretical analysis. The proposed single-layered, easy-to-fabricate model of HSPPW-based beam scanning antenna shows a wide scanning range of 90° (from −60° to +30°), with a high gain at 4.87GHz.

Enhanced photon routing beyond the blockade limit via linear optics

Directing indistinguishable photons from one input port into separate output ports is a fundamental operation in quantum information processing. The simplest scheme for achieving routing beyond random chance uses the photon blockade effect of a two-level emitter. But this approach is limited by a time-energy uncertainty relation. We show that a linear optical unitary transformation applied after the atom enables splitting efficiencies that exceed this time-energy limit. We show that the linear optical unitary improves the splitting efficiency from 67% to 82% for unentangled photon inputs, and from 77% to 90% for entangled photon inputs. We then optimize the temporal mode profile of the entangled photon wave function to attain the optimal splitting efficiency of 92%, a significant improvement over previous limits derived using a two-level atom alone. These results provide a path towards optimizing single photon nonlinearities and engineering programmable and robust photon-photon interactions for practical, high-fidelity quantum operations.

Chest diseases rank among the most prevalent and dangerous global health issues. Object detection and phrase grounding deep learning models interpret complex radiology data to as-sist healthcare professionals in diagnosis. Object detection locates abnormalities for classes, while phrase grounding lo-cates abnormalities for textual descriptions. This paper inves-tigates how text enhances abnormality localization in chest X-rays by comparing the performance and explainability of these two tasks. To establish an explainability benchmark, we proposed an automatic pipeline to generate image regions for report sentences using radiologists' eye-tracking data 1 . The better performance - mIoU = 36% vs. 20% - and ex-plainability - Containment ratio 48% vs. 26% - of the phrase grounding model infers the effectiveness of text in enhancing chest X-ray abnormality localization.

This paper presents a comprehensive framework for assessing the efficacy of Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) in IoT retail applications. The framework integrates five key algorithms: Data Validation Algorithm (DVA), Consensus Mechanism Algorithm (CMA), Fraud Detection Algorithm (FDA), Privacy-Preserving Algorithm (PPA), and Dynamic Smart Contract Algorithm (DSCA). Each algorithm addresses specific challenges, ensuring data integrity, achieving consensus, preventing fraud, preserving privacy, and enhancing smart contract adaptability. The ablation study evaluates the individual contributions of each algorithm, highlighting their significance in the overall framework. Comparative performance evaluations demonstrate the proposed framework's superiority, with higher scores across key parameters compared to existing assessment methods. The framework offers a robust solution for enhancing the security, integrity, and efficiency of DLT in IoT retail applications, addressing multifaceted challenges and requirements. © 2024 IEEE.

Radio frequency-based smart farming is revolutionising agriculture. To meet the growing demand of food, farm productivity should be improved by predicting crop performance in diverse environmental conditions. Farming becomes smarter with automation and radio frequency technology. Radio frequency collect and manage data about crop performance, climate change, livestock welfare, resource shortages and atmosphere that frequently influence farming construction via smartphone applications where the data container remains and is retrieved wherever. It also aids in animal nursing and termination. With smart sensors and equipment, farmers can increase crop production with reduced cost and time. Smart farming along with sensors offers the guarantee of expanding efficiency while diminishing generation costs and limiting ecological effects. The sensor data will be collected and stored in the cloud. Analysis of farming is done with computing the data stored in the cloud. Based on these cloud data, farmers perform farming in a proper annual time. Cloud-based storage is more appropriate for these computations.
