We investigate nonlinear behaviors of light known as bifurcation and chaos within a nonlinear silicon microring resonator (SMRR). The research is used to controlling SMRR's behaviors such as chaos applicable in security coding systems. The variable parameters affect the bifurcation to be happened in smaller roundtrip among total round trip of 20000 or input power. Simulated Results show that rising of the nonlinear refractive indices, coupling coefficients and radius of the SMRR leads to descending in input power and round trips wherein the bifurcation occurs. As result, bifurcation or chaos behaviors are seen at lower input power of 44 W, where the nonlinear refractive index is n 2 = 3.2×10 -20 m 2 /W. Smallest round trips of 4770 and 5720 can be seen for the R = 40 μm and k = 0.1 respectively. The controlled chaotic signals from the SMRR are passing through a polarizer beam splitter to generate quantum binary codes which are used in wireless network communication.

Vehicular Ad-hoc Networks are a very interesting self-organizing communication system that can make the traffic on our roads much safer. A lot of aspects of the behavior of these systems are studied using network simulation frameworks. While the upper communication layers of Vehicular Ad-hoc Networks are mainly simulated according to their specifications, in this paper we will highlight weak points in these simulations. They occur due the fact that the layers below the link layer are considered very rarely and are also almost neglected by the commonly used network simulation frameworks. This can potentially lead to inaccurate simulation results which can be fatal when studying safety relevant applications or application with real-time constraints. In this work in progress paper we are going to propose an approach to get this under control.

The aim of this work is to propose a multifractal analysis method for Multifractal Detrended Fluctuation analysis (MF-DFA) of Blood Oxygen Level Dependent (BOLD) functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI). The fMRI signals exhibit a 1/f power spectrum, hence their structure has self-similarity and long memory, being usually successfully analyzed by different fractal analysis methods without a previous knowledge of haemodynamic models. Therefore, to validate activation detection using the MF-DFA method, a comparison study between images obtained using General Linear Model (GLM) and Independent Component Analysis (ICA) was conducted and evaluated by discrimination power, applying Receiver Operating Characteristic (ROC) analysis to the results.

In this paper a novel decentralized approach for task sequencing within a multiple missions control framework is presented. The main contribution of this work concerns the decentralization of a control framework for multiple mission execution in order to enhance the robustness of the system, and the application of the latter to a heterogeneous robotic network. The proposed approach is based on the Matrixbased Discrete Event Framework (MDEF). This formalism is adapted to networks of heterogeneous robots, i.e., robots with different capabilities, and to the decentralized control of mission execution using a consensus-based approach which guarantees the agreement among robots on executed actions and their consequences.
