Objective: During autonomy-supportive consultations, professionals use a need-supportive interaction style to facilitate patients' self-regulated behaviour. To improve maternity care professionals' need-supportive interactions, it is important to provide insights into their interaction style. No tool is currently available for measuring need-supportive interactions in maternity care. Therefore, the aim of this study was to adapt the COUNSEL-CCE to evaluate need-supportive interactions in maternity care and to validate their measurements. Methods: A five-step adaptation and validation process was performed based on the guideline of Sousa and Rojjanasrirat: 1) adaptation of COUNSEL-CCE by two authors independently;2) development of a consensus-based tool: CONSUL-MCC;3) qualitative assessment of CONSUL-MCC;4) pilot testing of CONSUL-MCC in the target population (N = 10) and 5) psychometric testing in the target population (N = 453). Results: All indicators of the original tool remained relevant. Four items were rephrased, one indicator was added, and all examples were adapted to maternity care. The results of psychometric testing indicated good construct validity. However, the data characteristics made it impossible to prove the presumed factor structure and perform an accurate intraclass correlation. Conclusions and innovation: COUNSEL-CCE proved to be a new instrument to gain insights into professionals' interactions and be applied to maternity care. © 2023 The Authors

Bioceramics such as hydroxyapatite (HA) have been used as a coating to improve Ti-6Al-4V bioactivity and enhance osseointegration. Conventionally, HA was deposit onto the substrates surface using plasma spray producing amorphous phases when high temperature used. Therefore, HA coating deposited on the substrates at relatively low temperatures by modified cold gas spray. In this current study, influence of thermally oxidised Ti-6Al-4V substrate on the HA coating topography, roughness, thickness, phase composition, and Ca/P molar ratio were investigated. HA coating on the sand-gritted Ti-6Al-4V substrate surface was used as control. The sand-gritted Ti-6Al-4V substrate surface was treated with SiC paper. Then, the Ti-6Al-4V substrate was thermally oxidised at temperature 450°C to 600°C under atmospheric conditions. HA coating was analysed by atomic force microscope (AFM), back scattered electron microscope (BSEM), x-ray diffraction (XRD) and x-ray fluorescence (XRF) to analyse surface roughness, surface topography, coating thickness, phase composition and elemental composition. The results compared the HA coatings on sand-gritted substrate and thermally oxidised substrate. The HA coating surface roughness on the thermally oxidised was significantly different at p = 0.027 compared to the sand-gritted surface. HA coating on sand gritted gives surface roughness of 60.43 nm (IQR = 37.41 nm). Meanwhile, HA coating on the thermally oxidised Ti-6Al-4V at 500°C and 600°C resulted in surface roughness of 27.61 nm (IQR = 51.07 nm) and 33.03 nm (IQR = 23.19 nm) respectively, which accomplished nanotopography roughness that can be beneficial for molecular and cellular activities. The 2D images shows no aggregation of HA particles. The thickness of HA coating on the sand-gritted Ti-6Al-4V was 109.0 µm (IQR = 45.3 µm), while the thickness of HA coating on the thermally oxidised Ti-6Al-4V at 600°C was reduced to 48.4 µm (IQR = 12.5 µm). Grapevine (Vitis vinifera L.) is a plant containing many phenolic compounds, mostly distributed in the peel, pulp, and seeds. This study evaluates the centesimal composition and bioactive compounds in Shiraz grape (Vitis vinifera) peels using spectrophotometric and UHPLC techniques and develops different formulations of compound powders from the peels and arrowroot using conventional drying technology. The results demonstrate that Shiraz grape skin contains significant amounts of insoluble fiber (15.3%), phenolics (157.09 ± 6.96-149.11 ± 9.27 mg GAE g-1), and flavonoids (0.75 ± 0.50-2.00 ± 0.50 mg QE g-1), with excellent antioxidant capacity observed in the alcoholic extracts. The phenolic content in the developed powdered compounds ranged from 128.32 to 139.70 mg GAE g-1. In general, the compounds showed good antioxidant capacity (IC50 = 0.17 to 0.19 μg mL-1). According to the chromatographic evaluation, it was possible to quantify gallic acid, catechin, and epicatechin, the latter of which was found in the largest quantities in the six formulations. The EV5 formulation was the most efficient in terms of phenolic compounds and protein amounts. Background: Diabetes is one of the leading causes of death and disability worldwide, and affects people regardless of country, age group, or sex. Using the most recent evidentiary and analytical framework from the Global Burden of Diseases, Injuries, and Risk Factors Study (GBD), we produced location-specific, age-specific, and sex-specific estimates of diabetes prevalence and burden from 1990 to 2021, the proportion of type 1 and type 2 diabetes in 2021, the proportion of the type 2 diabetes burden attributable to selected risk factors, and projections of diabetes prevalence through 2050. Methods: Estimates of diabetes prevalence and burden were computed in 204 countries and territories, across 25 age groups, for males and females separately and combined;these estimates comprised lost years of healthy life, measured in disability-adjusted life-years (DALYs;defined as the sum of years of life lost [YLLs] and years lived with disability [YLDs]). We used the Cause of Death Ensemble model (CODEm) approach to estimate deaths due to diabetes, incorporating 25 666 location-years of data from vital registration and verbal autopsy reports in separate total (including both type 1 and type 2 diabetes) and type-specific models. Other forms of diabetes, including gestational and monogenic diabetes, were not explicitly modelled. Total and type 1 diabetes prevalence was estimated by use of a Bayesian meta-regression modelling tool, DisMod-MR 2.1, to analyse 1527 location-years of data from the scientific literature, survey microdata, and insurance claims;type 2 diabetes estimates were computed by subtracting type 1 diabetes from total estimates. Mortality and prevalence estimates, along with standard life expectancy and disability weights, were used to calculate YLLs, YLDs, and DALYs. With the development of science and technology, the generation and spread of knowledge has accelerated. Peoples’ attention spans have decreased as intelligent technological devices have been developed. In addition, modern people continue to receive excessive amounts of information due to the high frequency of Internet use, but a large amount of information cannot be effectively stored in the brain (Small et al., 2009). Scholars have claimed that, given the massive amounts of information and the learning style of digital natives, designing effective learning units that avoid cognitive overload and optimizing students’ learning patterns have become important issues in education (Fyfe, 2016;Wang & Fan, 2016). Micro-learning is a new type of learning based on micro-content and micro-media. It was first proposed by Martin Lindner in 2006. Micro-learning is a general term for all short and small learning models, and it is not limited to any form. Micro-courses for micro-learning were proposed by David Penrose, a senior instructional designer in the United States (Wen & Zhang, 2015). He defined a micro-course as a form of curriculum with short films. A previous study noted that the length of the video is related to the participation rate of learners;that is, the shorter the video length, the higher the participation rate (Guo et al., 2014). The short-film characteristics of micro-courses likely increase the focus of learners, thereby increasing their participation rate. Some of the early conventional online courses were derived from the digitization of in-person courses, and the online videos lasted for approximately 40 to 50 minutes, which would make it difficult for learners to maintain their attention (Wen & Zhang, 2015). Therefore, scholars have divided the long-term online course videos into small-scale fragmentary course videos. Providing better quality of service is one of the most important goals in medical/healthcare systems. The services provided should have features such as low latency, appropriate geographic distribution, and real-time interaction. Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) technology is one of the solutions to achieve high quality of services with these features. The wearable health monitoring systems which have become popular in the last decade are one of the foundations of achievement to these features. In this paper, the importance of wearable devices under IoMT technology is investigated. There are several reasons for using wearable devices under IoMT technology, such as reducing healthcare costs and long waiting times. Therefore, anyone working on wearable devices needs to have a general understanding of how they are designed and function. In fact, the integration of new devices to monitor and alert patients about their physical health is a promising option for improving health care systems around the world. Overcrowding in medical centers will be prevented by upgrading the facilities for the virtual presence of patients. It can also ensure real-time monitoring and reduce operating costs. In addition, it can accelerate treatment of patients and reduce the cost of investment and increase its coverage.

Analysis of relationships among science contestants’ cooperation attitude, knowledge sharing, and continuous sharing intention

With science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM) education in full swing worldwide, several science competitions based on STEAM have sprung up. One is Maker-Highlight-STEM&A, a competition sponsored by the Department of Education of the Taipei City Government, which involves STEAM learning and creativity through hands-on skills. In Maker- Highlight-STEM&A project making, knowledge sharing is crucial for seeking approaches to solve problems. Participants must know how to collaborate with each other and have a positive collective attitude to knowledge sharing to achieve the team’s goals. In particular, in the competition, the project topic is given on the spot, which encourages participants to share their knowledge and discover new ideas while creating project functions and improving their project quality, thereby helping them win the competition. Extending Kahneman’s (2003) dual process system, which states that automatic and reflective responses exist in knowledge sharing, we divided reflective responses into rational and emotional responses based on the cognition-affection model. To analyze the role of the three types of knowledge sharing, this study explored cooperative attitude as their antecedent and continuous intention as their predictor. In the highly competitive environment of Maker-Highlight-STEM&A, knowledge sharing in teamwork is crucial to win the competition;however, few studies have examined the correlation among cooperative attitude, knowledge sharing, and continuous intention to share knowledge. Because self-identity can foster attitudes toward a behavior in relation to the intention to perform that behavior, the present study considered the self-identity of participants in three types of knowledge sharing to predict their continuous intention to share knowledge in the competition. Attribute prototype network for zero-shot learning

From the beginning of zero-shot learning research, visual attributes have been shown to play an important role. In order to better transfer attribute-based knowledge from known to unknown classes, we argue that an image representation with integrated attribute localization ability would be beneficial for zero-shot learning. To this end, we propose a novel zero-shot representation learning framework that jointly learns discriminative global and local features using only class-level attributes. While a visual-semantic embedding layer learns global features, local features are learned through an attribute prototype network that simultaneously regresses and decorrelates attributes from intermediate features. We show that our locality augmented image representations achieve a new state-of-the-art on three zero-shot learning benchmarks. As an additional benefit, our model points to the visual evidence of the attributes in an image, e.g. for the CUB dataset, confirming the improved attribute localization ability of our image representation.
