Secure transmission of data is one of the most challenging goals. Generally, users avoid the use of a secure channel due to its high cost. Various schemes have been proposed to solve this issue. Some of the schemes are based only on encryption or steganography alone, which is not able to provide the desired level of security in a modern scenario. In this work, a security scheme has been proposed to address the challenge of secure communication at a low cost in three phases: vectoring, cryptography, and steganography. The proposed scheme has a flexibility factor that allows for different levels of security and secrecy. Different types of messages require different levels (high/low) of security, considering the circumstantial robustness on demand. A high level of security ensures security against attacks from the attacker for sensitive information. Our proposed security scheme is capable of providing the required level of security with decreased complexity. The proposed scheme is of a dynamic nature, as per the requirement. © 2023 IEEE.

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) significantly impacts a child's ability to navigate social interactions, regulate emotions, and develop adaptive skills crucial for daily functioning. While various interventions exist to address cognitive and academic skills, the development of soft skills such as communication, emotional regulation, social interaction, and creativity remains an under explored area. This paper builds upon the foundational work of the Mind Champ platform, which originally targeted both learning and soft skills, by focusing exclusively on enhancing the soft skills development of autistic children. This enhanced version of the Mind Champ platform leverages advanced behavioral and emotional analysis techniques to offer a comprehensive technological solution. Through interactive activities centered on painting and music, the platform creates a structured, engaging, and supportive environment tailored to the unique needs of children with ASD. By prioritizing emotional engagement and creative expression, the platform empowers children to improve their social abilities, emotional regulation, and adaptability. The results from our continued research indicate that these technology-driven interventions contribute significantly to the holistic development of soft skills in autistic children, providing them with valuable tools to navigate social environments more effectively. © 2024 IEEE.

Neural networks with memristive memory for weights have been proposed as an energy-efficient solution for scaling up of neural network implementations. However, training such memristive neural networks is still challenging due to various memristor imperfections and faulty memristive elements. Such imperfections and faults are becoming increasingly severe as the density of memristor arrays increases in order to scale up weight memory. We propose fault pruning, a robust training scheme for memristive neural networks based on the idea to identify faulty memristive behavior on the fly during training and prune corresponding connections. We test this algorithm in simulations of memristive neural networks using both feed-forward and convolutional architectures on standard object recognition data sets. We show its ability to mitigate the detrimental effect of memristor faults on network training. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

With the rapid development of artificial intelligence and the continuous improvement of prediction methods, analyzing and researching the changing trend of student employment, optimizing the direction of teaching improvement, and improving the employment rate of students have a good role. This paper mainly introduces several key factors that affect employment based on the behavior of college students, establishes a BP neural network employment rate prediction model, and predicts the employment rate of recent graduates by training and learning the employment rate of recent graduates. Comparing the training results with the real employment rate, the error is less than 2%, which shows that the employment rate prediction model based on BP neural network has practical value. © VDE VERLAG GMBH - Berlin - Offenbach.

In this work, a new susceptible–exposed–infectious–recovered (SEIR) compartmental model is proposed which has additional media influence for precise quantization of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). In the proposed model, first-order ordinary differential equations (ODEs) are used for the formulation of basic reproduction number, whereas genetic algorithm (GA) is used for its estimation. The inclusion of climatic parameters, governmental impact, and human behavioral response toward the disease provides an upper hand in determining the dynamics of its transmissibility, thereby indicating their significance in precising the outcomes. In addition, the future trends for the new normalized confirmed cases of COVID-19 are predicted using the long short-term memory (LSTM) model which helps in evaluating and modifying the current preventive actions taken to improve the situation. The robustness of the proposed model is measured by five different error functions which are tested in five different countries. According to the experimental results, this is observed that the proposed model has a smaller prediction deviation as well and the proposed scheme outperforms state-of-the-art models of COVID-19. © 2024, The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Semi-supervised multi-organ medical image segmentation aids physicians in improving disease diagnosis and treatment planning and reduces the time and effort required for organ *** state-of-the-art methods train the labeled data with ground truths and train the unlabeled data with pseudo-labels. However, the two training flows are separate, which does not reflect the interrelationship between labeled and unlabeled *** address this issue, we propose a semi-supervised multi-organ segmentation method called GuidedNet, which leverages the knowledge from labeled data to guide the training of unlabeled data. The primary goals of this study are to improve the quality of pseudo-labels for unlabeled data and to enhance the network's learning capability for both small and complex organs.A key concept is that voxel features from labeled and unlabeled data that are close to each other in the feature space are more likely to belong to the same *** this basis, a 3D Consistent Gaussian Mixture Model (3D-CGMM) is designed to leverage the feature distributions from labeled data to rectify the generated ***, we introduce a Knowledge Transfer Cross Pseudo Supervision (KT-CPS) strategy, which leverages the prior knowledge obtained from the labeled data to guide the training of the unlabeled data, thereby improving the segmentation accuracy for both small and complex organs. Extensive experiments on two public datasets, FLARE22 and AMOS, demonstrated that GuidedNet is capable of achieving state-of-the-art performance. © 2024 ACM.

Next-Generation Crowdsensing Networks (NGCNs) have become increasingly critical for smart cities, where data privacy and quality are pivotal concerns. Traditional trust mechanisms in crowdsensing mainly rely on static trust models, which are insufficient for dynamic security requirements. Zero-Trust security represents a promising opportunity, yet coming with notable challenges in NGCNs, including Unknown Workers Online Recruitment (UWOR), Information Elicitation Without Verification (IEWV), Privacy Preserving Data Evaluation (PPDE), and Dynamic Trust Abrupt Shift (DTAS). To address these challenges, we propose a Credibility-aware and Privacy-preserving Data collection scheme with Zero-trust (CPDZ) for secure and quality data collection in NGCNs. First, our CPDZ scheme encompasses a quality worker recruitment strategy with combinatorial multi-armed bandit models, utilizing Thompson Sampling for the secure and efficient resolution of the UWOR. Second, an active dispatching scheme for unmanned aerial vehicles is crafted to collect data as a gold standard to assist in overcoming the IEWV challenge. Third, as for the PPDE challenge, we propose a lightweight privacy-preserving scheme for dependable truth discovery and secure trust verification. Fourth, the DTAS challenge is managed by a dual verification scheme that integrates short-term and long-term trust assessments, ensuring stability and adaptability of the zero-trust security in our CPDZ scheme. Experiments confirm the superiority of our CPDZ scheme, showing a 12.5% increase in recruitment revenue and a 57.8% reduction in relative error compared to existing approaches. © 1983-2012 IEEE.

DFU_XAI: A Deep Learning-Based Approach to Diabetic Foot Ulcer Detection Using Feature Explainability

Diabetic foot ulcer (DFU) is a potentially fatal complication of diabetes. Traditional techniques of DFU analysis and therapy are more time-consuming and costly. Artificial intelligence (AI), particularly deep neural networks, has demonstrated remarkable effectiveness in medical applications. Despite this, the lack of explainability of deep learning models is currently viewed as a key hurdle to using these approaches in actual clinical settings. In this research, we present the DFU_XAI framework for assessing the interpretability of explainable-driven deep learning (DL) models. DFU_XAI evaluates five DL models (Xception, DenseNet121, ResNet50, InceptionV3, and MobileNetV2) to establish a transparent DL framework using three state-of-the-art explanation methods: Shapley additive explanation (SHAP), local interpretable model-agnostic explanations (LIME), and gradient-weighted class activation mapping (Grad-CAM). ResNet50 outperformed the other four models with remarkable results: 98.75% accuracy, 99.2% precision, 97.6% recall, 98.4% F1-score, and 98.5% AUC. For the most part, it can locate diabetic foot ulcers precisely on a diabetic foot and discriminate between diabetic foot ulcers and healthy feet in the DFU dataset. A heat map will indicate the precise location of the ulcer that needs care. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer science+Business Media, LLC 2024.

Deep learning(DL) systems exhibit multiple behavioral characteristics such as correctness, robustness, and fairness. Ensuring that these behavioral characteristics function properly is crucial for maintaining the accuracy of DL systems’ outputs. As a specialized form of software, DL systems’ security testing techniques have increasingly become a focus of research in quality assurance. We analyze and organize the testing techniques for DL systems based on an investigation of the current state of the art both domestically and internationally. This paper categorizes existing approaches as component-oriented and attribute-oriented methods, providing a detailed review based on this classification.
