Characterizing the app recommendation relationships in the iOS app store: a complex network's perspective

Mobile apps have become widely adopted in our daily lives. To facilitate app discovery, most app markets provide recommendations for users, which may significantly impact how apps are accessed. However, little has been known about the underlying relationships and how they reflect(or affect) user behaviors. To fill this gap, we characterize the app recommendation relationships in the i OS app store from the perspective of the complex network. We collect a dataset containing over 1.3 million apps and 50 million app recommendations. This dataset enables us to construct a complex network that captures app recommendation relationships. Through this, we explore the recommendation relationships between mobile apps and how these relationships reflect or affect user behavior patterns. The insights gained from our research can be valuable for understanding typical user behaviors and identifying potential policy-violating apps.

Performance Analysis of Machine Learning Based On Optimized Feature Selection for Type II Diabetes Mellitus

Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) is a common chronic illness caused by variations in the secretion of insulin. T2DM will be treated early with the help of an early diagnosis reducing the risk of early death and controlling is course of illness. In this Paper Machine Learning Algorithms (MLA) for T2DM diagnosis are proposed. The major objective of this research is to assess use of MLA and its methods to forecast different illnesses at an initial stage. In this research, we examine most recent proposed strategies with some limitations and potential improvements for future work. The data is collected from Kaggle (University of California) *. Researchers highlight how important is to identify important features that enhance outcomes suggested by recent methods. Six MLA were used in this paper such as Logistic Regression (LR), Support Vector Machine (SVM), Naive Bayes (NB), Decision Tree (DT), Random Forest (RF) and K-Nearest Neighbour (KNN) were applied in Jupiter Notebook. Feature sets are selected using three feature selection methodologies such as information gain-based selection, correlation-based selection and sequential feature selection. On these feature subsets a variety of MLA are applied and optimal feature subset is chosen based on their performance. Finally a DT is suggested as the top model among the top six performances. Mutual Retinex: Combining Transformer and CNN for Image Enhancement

Images captured in low-light or underwater environments are often accompanied by significant degradation, which can negatively impact the quality and performance of downstream tasks. While convolutional neural networks (CNNs) and Transformer architectures have made significant progress in computer vision tasks, there are few efforts to harmonize them into a more concise framework for enhancing such images. To this end, this study proposes to aggregate the individual capability of self-attention (SA) and CNNs for accurate perturbation removal while preserving background contents. Based on this, we carry forward a Retinex-based framework, dubbed as Mutual Retinex, where a two-branch structure is designed to characterize the specific knowledge of reflectance and illumination components while removing the perturbation. To maximize its potential, Mutual Retinex is equipped with a new mutual learning mechanism, involving an elaborately designed mutual representation module (MRM). In MRM, the complementary information between reflectance and illumination components are encoded and used to refine each other. Through the complementary learning via the mutual representation, the enhanced results generated by our model exhibit superior color consistency and naturalness. Extensive experiments have shown the significant superiority of our mutual learning based method over thirteen competitors on the low-light task and ten methods on the underwater image enhancement task. In particular, our proposed Mutual Retinex respectively surpasses the state-of-the-art method MIRNet-v2 by 0.90 dB and 2.46 dB in PSNR on the LOL 1000 and FIVEK datasets, while with only 19.8% model parameters. © 2017 IEEE.

Characterization of Memory Access in Deep Learning and Its Implications in Memory Management

Due to the recent trend of software intelligence in the Fourth Industrial Revolution,deep learning has become a mainstream workload for modern computer *** the data size of deep learning increasingly grows,managing the limited memory capacity efficiently for deep learning workloads becomes *** this paper,we analyze memory accesses in deep learning workloads and find out some unique characteristics differentiated from traditional ***,when comparing instruction and data accesses,data access accounts for 96%–99%of total memory accesses in deep learning workloads,which is quite different from traditional ***,when comparing read and write accesses,write access dominates,accounting for 64%–80%of total memory ***,although write access makes up the majority of memory accesses,it shows a low access bias of 0.3 in the Zipf ***,in predicting re-access,recency is important in read access,but frequency provides more accurate information in write *** on these observations,we introduce a Non-Volatile Random Access Memory(NVRAM)-accelerated memory architecture for deep learning workloads,and present a new memory management policy for this *** considering the memory access characteristics of deep learning workloads,the proposed policy improves memory performance by 64.3%on average compared to the CLOCK policy.

Loop Subgraph-Level Greedy Mapping Algorithm for Grid Coarse-Grained Reconfigurable Array

To solve the problem of grid coarse-grained reconfigurable array task mapping under multiple constraints,we propose a Loop Subgraph-Level Greedy Mapping(LSLGM)algorithm using parallelism and processing element *** the constraint of a reconfigurable array,the LSLGM algorithm schedules node from a ready queue to the current reconfigurable cell array *** mapping a node,its successor’s indegree value will be dynamically *** its successor’s indegree is zero,it will be directly scheduled to the ready queue;otherwise,the predecessor must be dynamically *** the predecessor cannot be mapped,it will be scheduled to a blocking *** dynamically adjust the ready node scheduling order,the scheduling function is constructed by exploiting factors,such as node number,node level,and node *** with the loop subgraph-level mapping algorithm,experimental results show that the total cycles of the LSLGM algorithm decreases by an average of 33.0%(PEA44)and 33.9%(PEA_(7×7)).Compared with the epimorphism map algorithm,the total cycles of the LSLGM algorithm decrease by an average of 38.1%(PEA_(4×4))and 39.0%(PEA_(7×7)).The feasibility of LSLGM is verified.

A sharding blockchain-based UAV system for search and rescue missions

Sharding is a promising technique to tackle the critical weakness of scalability in blockchain-based unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV)search and rescue(SAR)*** breaking up the blockchain network into smaller partitions called shards that run independently and in parallel,shardingbased UAV systems can support a large number of search and rescue UAVs with improved scalability,thereby enhancing the rescue ***,the lack of adaptability and interoperability still hinder the application of sharded blockchain in UAV SAR *** refers to making adjustments to the blockchain towards real-time surrounding situations,while interoperability refers to making cross-shard interactions at the mission *** address the above challenges,we propose a blockchain UAV system for SAR missions based on dynamic sharding *** from the benefits in scalability brought by sharding,our system improves adaptability by dynamically creating configurable and mission-exclusive shards,and improves interoperability by supporting calls between smart contracts that are deployed on different *** implement a prototype of our system based on Quorum,give an analysis of the improved adaptability and interoperability,and conduct experiments to evaluate the *** results show our system can achieve the above goals and overcome the weakness of blockchain-based UAV systems in SAR scenarios.

Decentralized Anonymous Payment Systems (DAP), often known as cryptocurrencies, stand out as some of the most innovative and successful applications on the blockchain. These systems have garnered significant attention in the financial industry due to their highly secure and reliable features. Regrettably, the DAP system can be exploited to fund illegal activities such as drug dealing and terrorism. Therefore, governments are increasingly worried about the illicit use of DAP systems, which poses a critical threat to their security. This paper proposes Privacy and Compliance in Regulated Anonymous Payment System Based on Blockchain (PCRAP), which provides government supervision and enforces regulations over transactions without sacrificing the essential idea of the blockchain, that is, without surrendering transaction privacy or anonymity of the participants. The key characteristic of the proposed scheme is using a ring signature and stealth address to ensure the anonymity of both the sender and receiver of the transaction. Moreover, a Merkle Tree is used to guarantee government supervision and enforce regulations. Our proposed scheme satisfies most of the stringent security requirements and complies with the standards of secure payment systems. Additionally, while our work supports government regulations and supervision, it guarantees unconditional anonymity for users. Furthermore, the performance analysis demonstrates that our suggested scheme still remains applicable and effective even when achieving complete anonymity. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature 2024.

Insertion is one of the basic operations in DNA computing. Based on this basic operation, an evolutionary computation model, the insertion system, was defined. For the evolutionary computation model defined above, varying levels of ambiguity and basic descriptional complexity measures have been defined. In this paper, we define twelve new (descriptional) complexity measures based on the integral parts of the derivation, such as axioms, strings to be inserted, and contexts used in the insertion rules. Later, we analyze the trade-off among the complexity measures and the existing ambiguity levels. Accurately diagnosing Alzheimer's disease is essential for improving elderly ***,accurate prediction of the mini-mental state examination score also can measure cognition impairment and track the progression of Alzheimer's ***,most of the existing methods perform Alzheimer's disease diagnosis and mini-mental state examination score prediction separately and ignore the relation between these two *** address this challenging problem,we propose a novel multi-task learning method,which uses feature interaction to explore the relationship between Alzheimer's disease diagnosis and minimental state examination score *** our proposed method,features from each task branch are firstly decoupled into candidate and non-candidate parts for ***,we propose feature sharing module to obtain shared features from candidate features and return shared features to task branches,which can promote the learning of each *** validate the effectiveness of our proposed method on multiple *** Alzheimer's disease neuroimaging initiative 1 dataset,the accuracy in diagnosis task and the root mean squared error in prediction task of our proposed method is 87.86%and 2.5,*** results show that our proposed method outperforms most state-of-the-art *** proposed method enables accurate Alzheimer's disease diagnosis and mini-mental state examination score ***,it can be used as a reference for the clinical diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease,and can also help doctors and patients track disease progression in a timely manner.
