Technique for modelling flooding zones of coastal areas in the cascade of hydroelectric power stations on the Angara river

This article presents the method for modelling underwater three-dimensional topography and it's combining with terrain under conditions of incomplete source data. The technique for constructing 3D elevation model was tested within the research projects conducted in Matrosov institute for system dynamics and control theory Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences in collaboration with colleagues from other research institutes of Irkutsk Scientific Center under the comprehensive studies of Lake Baikal, the Angara River and the Bratsk Reservoir. We present an algorithm for combining underwater topography with terrain based on heterogeneous source data using the Delaunay triangulation. The combining yields a high-quality 3D elevation model. This model can be used to make forecasts of the changes in the coastlines of reservoirs, which are associated with water discharges from hydroelectric power stations. The described technique was used to solve some practical problems and showed its effectiveness. To combine the data on the terrain and underwater topography, we developed a special software using the Delaunay triangulation algorithms. For data layers, their roles were indicated during the triangulation. Layers contained the information about terrain, watermarks, contours of the coastline, and underwater topography. For underwater topography, we used the information about the marks of the water edge. Based on these data, we built an additional triangulation, from which we subsequently obtained the information about heights because contours of coastlines are confined to heights, and depths are measured relative to heights. As a result of this study, we processed some settlements and estimated possible flooding.

The paper is devoted to the problem of an end-to-end table transformation from untagged portable documents (PDF) to linked data. It covers the issues of the table extraction from documents, the reconstruction of logical table structure, the conceptualization of their natural-language content, and the linking of extracted data with external vocabularies. We consider some perspective approaches for the deep-learning-based table detection, heuristic-based table structure recognition, rule-based table analysis, and knowledge-based table interpretation. They can be used as a basis to develop a consistent solution for this problem. Our application experience confirms that such solutions are demanded for populating databases and generating ontologies with tabular data being extracted from weakly and semi-structured documents. We consider the approach to development of AIS (automated information system) using declarative specifications of database applications (SDA). The specifications of database applications contain all the information about database structure, which is required to build a typical AIS. The information is represented in its pure form, so the specifications are rather concise. The AIS’es are implemented using general algorithms, which are directed by the specifications. We have developed algorithms for such tasks as: user interface generation, query building, report generation, GIS interaction. Using the specifications of database applications and the algorithms the software system GeoARM was implemented. The technology considered was well-tried by use of the system GeoARM for development of several dozens of true-life AIS for different purposes. In this article we’ll describe the approach, that we use for creation of several versions of the GeoARM engine, which use different data access libraries, from the common source code base. The resulting versions of the GeoARM engine allow us to create problem-oriented AIS’es for all the supported platforms from the single SDA. Copyright © 2019 for this paper by its authors.

This paper deals with the problem of optimal packing a given number of equal spheres into different closed sets. We consider the problem both in three-dimensional Euclidean and non-Euclidean spaces. The special algorithm based on optical-geometric approach is suggested and implemented. This approach is previously used only for packing circles in two-dimensional space. The paper addresses the research of intelligent integrated energy systems resilience that is the system ability to withstand large disturbances and prevent their cascade development with massive energy shortage. The scheme of intelligent integrated energy systems resilience research is presented in the paper. It involves the disturbance scenarios formation, the evaluation of consequences of disturbance impact on energy systems, the assessment of the effectiveness and feasibility of the resilience enhancement steps. We consider the possibility of discovering a light pseudoscalar particle a, which could the axion or an axion-like particle (ALP), interacting mainly with quarks using the electron and photon scattering reaction chain e + Z → e + γ + Z;γ + Z → a + Z on nuclei in the NA64 experiment at the CERN SPS. New bounds on the coupling strengths of the axion/ALP with quarks and of pseudoscalar mesons P = π, η, η′ with dark fermions are obtained by using existing upper bounds on invisible decay modes of P s including those recently derived by NA64. We also study a scenario when the a plays the role of a messenger in the communication between our world and the dark sector. © 2024, CC BY.

We test a novel idea of using a π− beam in the fixed-target experiments to search for new physics in the events with missing energy. Bounds for invisible vector ρ meson decay were derived, analyzed, and compared with the current limits on searching dark matter in the accelerator based experiments. We demonstrate that the new approach can be effective tool to probe sub-GeV dark matter parameter space.

The paper proposes a method for obtaining the missing information in the construction of a semantic network, based on the analysis of statistical data about the service use by users. The advantage of the method is that the semantic connection between the two services is confirmed by a workable example demonstrating the transfer of data from one service to another. In addition, together with the semantic network, we obtain the connectivity of the parameters by the data, the possible values of the parameters, the frequency characteristics of users' use of services and their compositions, the time of the services execution, etc. © 2018 CEUR-WS. In this paper, we present the results on describing and modeling dynamical properties of collective systems. In particular, we consider the problems of activation and deactivation of collectives, represented by networks, by establishing special agents called activators and deactivators in a network. Such problems are combinatorial and to solve them, we employ the algorithms for solving Boolean satisfiability problem (SAT). Thus, we describe the general technique for reducing the problems from a considered class to SAT. The paper presents the novel approach to analysis of problems related to Computer Security. In particular, we propose to study the developing and blocking of attacks on computer networks as the processes of activation/deactivation. We give a number of theoretical properties of corresponding discrete dynamical systems. For the problems of blocking attacks on computer networks, the corresponding reduction to SAT was implemented and tested. At the present moment using state-of-the-art SAT solvers, it is possible to solve such problems for networks with 200 vertices. © Springer International Publishing AG, part of Springer Nature 2018.

The paper describes an approach for the computer-aided development of rule-based knowledge bases on the basis of analysis of fault trees represented with the aid of the author’s notation. The approach is based on the extraction of structural elements from the fault trees specification and converting them to the target constructions of knowledge representation language, in particular, CLIPS.
