A regular assessment of a technical state and calculation of a residual life are important measures for the safe operation of petrochemical facilities. These measures are parts of the industrial safety inspection (ISI) procedure. The efficiency of this procedure can be improved with the aid of decision support systems, which are process and reuse of accumulated information and experience on the basis of a case-based reasoning (CBR) approach. The formalization of the main ISI tasks is made in order to apply CBR. The case models developed for each ISI task. Testing models and approach was carried out in the special software in Irkutsk research and design institute of chemical and petroleum engineering. Copyright © 2019 for this paper by its authors.

The paper presents the architecture of the information system to support archaeological research of the AIS "Geoarcheology". The system provides registration, accounting and analysis of various archaeological data at all stages of research. The system consists of a set of related subsystems focused on solving individual problems of archeology. For example, carrying out excavation work, photographing, accounting for publications and reports, dating results, collecting and presenting spatial data. The technology and the GeoARM tool are used to automate the creation of the AIS "Geoarcheology". This approach provides automation of the development of application systems through the application of declarative specifications. Using this technology allows you to quickly expand the list of indicators without recompiling the system, which is important in the context of emerging standards of archaeological research. We address concepts and principles of the development, training, and use of applications in heterogeneous environments that integrate different computational infrastructures including HPC-clusters, grids, and clouds. Existing differences in the Grid and cloud computing models significantly complicate problem-solving processes in such environments for end-users. In this regards, we propose the toolkit named Orlando Tools for creating scalable applications for solving large-scale scientific and applied problems. It provides mechanisms for the subject domain specification, problem formulation, problem-solving time prediction, problem-solving scheme execution, monitoring, etc. The toolkit supports hands-on training skills for end-users. To demonstrate the practicability and benefits of Orlando Tools, we present an example of the development and use of the scalable application for solving practical problems of warehouse logistics. © Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2019.

Conceptual models remain a main technique for visualize and formalize the basic concepts and relationships of any subject area. They provide a communicative function between subject domain specialists and software developers. Despite the existence of tools and notations for conceptual modeling the problem of retrieval of information about concepts and relationships or reverse engineering is stay urgent. Spreadsheets are one of the data sources for reverse engineering. In this paper we propose to transform the canonicalized spreadsheets. UML class diagrams were used as a target formalism for visualization of the obtained models. The description of the transformation algorithm and the mean of its implementation, namely, the Personal Knowledge Base Designer (PKBD) are given. Discussions of experiments are presented. This work is considered as a part of the project for development of a framework for creating systems of data extraction from arbitrary spreadsheets.

Modeling of a RF Surgical Generator based on a Push-Pull Oscillator

To reduce manufacturing costs, a new simple radio frequency (RF) surgical generator based on a push-pull oscillator is developed for cutting tissue. In order to systematically design and test feedback controllers keeping the generator’s output voltage constant, we will present two different models of the considered RF generator. The first one is a nonlinear state space model derived using the generator’s equivalent circuit diagram and Kirchhoff’s laws and the second one is a Hammerstein model. The models are based on physical principles and are successfully validated on a generator prototype, ensuring a good match with the static and dynamic behavior of the considered RF generator. The obtained state space model is well suited to simulate the RF generator, while the Hammerstein model is appropriate to design controllers for the generator’s output voltage.

Using UML class diagrams for content ontology design patterns engineering

The paper presents a method for Ontology Design Patterns (ODP) engineering based on the transformation of conceptual models serialized in the XML-like formats. In this paper, we use UML class diagrams as the source of conceptual models. The method includes the following activities: design and serialization of a source conceptual domain model; analysis and transformation of an XML structure of a source conceptual model to an ontological schema model; transformation of an ontological schema model to a content ODP code in the OWL 2 DL format; verification and modification of obtained content ODPs by domain experts. All transformations are implemented with the use of original domain-specific language, namely, Transformation Model Representation Language (TMRL). The proposed method is used for ODPs engineering in tasks of industrial safety inspection of technical systems. Obtained ODPs can be used for knowledge bases and intelligent systems engineering.

The paper describes a method and tools for prototyping components of intelligent systems. These means are the parts of the PESoT technology based on generative and visual programming as well as the model transformations. The proposed method redefines the main stages and models of the standardized model-driven approach, in particular, Model Driven Architecture in the context of developing knowledge bases and expert systems that use the logical rules formalism. The description of the method is presented. Proposed tools include languages and software. Specifically, the Rule Visual Modeling Language and Personal Knowledge Base Designer are used for knowledge bases engineering including modeling and codification; the Transformation Model Representation Language and Knowledge Base Development system support model transformations and the rapid creation of computation-independent models. Described tools were applied to solve problems in the field of reliability and safety of technical systems.

The problem of software modeling having various models as sources and its transformation based on logical inference is considered. Source models are converted into graphs of RDF and then processed with knowledge based system organized in a network of objects. Various notation can be used to represent models, such as UML, SysML, CMMN, BPMN2.0, as well as RDF graphs and analyzed source code, having implemented a corresponding converter. The objects are represented in the LogTalk programming language. Objects query graphs and other objects implementing a scenario of a software system synthesis within Model Driven Architecture paradigm. Usage of such kind of transformation approach allows us to develop software system carcasses on the level of abstract models, involve various sources of model data in the transformation, define and structuring conversion knowledge as objects. An example of a dataflow environment synthesis encapsulating Mothur library for new generation sequencing is presented.

The Baikal-Mongolian region is the territory with high seismic activity for which issues of the dynamic interaction of mobile areas with the platform block at a neotectonic stage. Also, it is a pattern of a late Cainozoic fault formation are insufficiently studied. In this regard development of methods of zoning of seismic hazard of territories, with use of modern geoinformation, web technologies and service – the oriented paradigm is relevant. The information and analytical environment (IAE) of geoportal type allowing to integrate diverse databases of monitoring and to apply services to a solution of a number of problems of comparison and assessment of the dangerous geological processes happening in the region are developed for the analysis and assessment of dangerous geological processes. At the same time can be used, both local services, and distributed in an Internet network that allows application of the models, algorithms and databases developed by other researchers. The offered approach provides a possibility of loading of heterogeneous space and thematic data of IAE, including, contained in directories and bulletins of earthquakes of the Baikal-Mongolian region. IAE allows to carry out creation of various thematic cards and also to visually represent results of modelling of geological processes and zoning of seismic hazard. Currently, a number of experimental facilities for astrophysics of cosmic rays are being built and are already operating in the world. These installations produce large amounts of data that need to be collected, processed, and analyzed. Since many organizations around the world are involved in experimental collaboration, it is necessary to organize distributed data management and processing. Moreover, the widespread use of multi-messenger approach based on the coordinated observation, interpretation and analysis of disparate signals created by different astrophysical processes makes this problem much more urgent and complex. To meet a similar challenge in high energy physics, a WLCG grid was deployed as part of the LHC project. This solution, on the one hand, showed high efficiency, and, on the other hand, it turned out to be a rather heavy solution that requires high administrative costs, highly qualified staff and a very homogeneous environment on which applications operate. The paper considers a distributed data storage, called AstroDS, which was developed for middle-size astrophysical experiments. The storage currently integrates the data of the KASCADE and TAIGA experiments;in the future, the number of supported experiments will be increased. The main ideas and approaches used in the development of this storage are as follows: unification of access to local storages without changing their internal structure;data transfer only at the moment of actual access to them;search for the requested data using metadata and aggregation of the search results into a new collection available to the user. A distinguishing feature of the system is its focus on storing of both raw data and primary processed data, for example, data after calibration, using the Write-One-Read-Many method.
