With the rapid development of information technology, the demand for miniaturization, integration, and intelligence of electronic devices is growing rapidly. As a key device in the non-von Neumann architecture, memristors can perform computations while storing data, enhancing computational efficiency and reducing power consumption. Memristors have become pivotal in driving the advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) and Internet of Things technologies. Combining the electronic properties of graphene with the size effects of quantum dots, graphene quantum dot (GQD)-based memristors exhibit potential applications in constructing brain-inspired neuromorphic computing systems and achieving AI hardware acceleration, making them a focal point of research interest. This review provides an overview of the preparation, mechanism, and application of GQD-based memristors. Initially, the structure, properties, and synthesis methods of GQDs are introduced in detail. Subsequently, the memristive mechanisms of GQD-based memristors are presented from three perspectives: the metal conductive filament mechanism, the electron trapping and detrapping mechanism, and the oxygen vacancy conductive filament mechanism. Furthermore, the different application scenarios of GQD-based memristors in both digital and analog types are summarized, encompassing information storage, brain-like artificial synapses, visual perception systems, and brain-machine interfaces. Finally, the challenges and future development prospects of GQD-based memristors are discussed. © 2025 The Royal Society of Chemistry.

Pushing artificial intelligence(AI) from central cloud to network edge has reached board consensus in both industry and academia for materializing the vision of artificial intelligence of things(AIoT) in the sixth-generation(6G) era. This gives rise to an emerging research area known as edge intelligence, which concerns the distillation of human-like intelligence from the vast amount of data scattered at the wireless network edge. Typically, realizing edge intelligence corresponds to the processes of sensing, communication,and computation, which are coupled ingredients for data generation, exchanging, and processing, ***, conventional wireless networks design the three mentioned ingredients separately in a task-agnostic manner, which leads to difficulties in accommodating the stringent demands of ultra-low latency, ultra-high reliability, and high capacity in emerging AI applications like auto-driving and metaverse. This thus prompts a new design paradigm of seamlessly integrated sensing, communication, and computation(ISCC) in a taskoriented manner, which comprehensively accounts for the use of the data in downstream AI tasks. In view of its growing interest, this study provides a timely overview of ISCC for edge intelligence by introducing its basic concept, design challenges, and enabling techniques, surveying the state-of-the-art advancements, and shedding light on the road ahead.

Nowadays, as the motion picture industry has become a multi-billion dollar business, it is not only a centre of entertainment. Movie investors normally value the rating of movies as utmost important since a bad rating can directly discourage people from watching the film and lead to a failure of investment. As such, the prediction of movie rating is essential to the film investors and companies for avoiding investment risks. In this paper, we propose a machine learning based method, called DbRMP, to find the optimal machine learning model for predicting the rating of movie in Douban (The largest online database of movies in China). Our method is based on different attributes / features of the movie obtained from Wikipedia, Douban, Baidu Baike, IMDd. We propose a data augmentation method to expand the size of the dataset. In the experimental evaluation, traditional machine learning models and deep learning models are investigated using this dataset. In the traditional ML evaluation methods, the experimental results show that GBDT outperforms other considered machine learning models by achieving an accuracy of 80.29% on the test set;in the deep learning methods, CNN offers the best accuracy, f1-score, precision and recall, which are 77.85%, 78.33%, 80.38% and 73.31%, respectively. © 2022 IEEE.

We obtain some fairly general conditions on the linking numbers and geometric properties of a link, under which it has infinitely many conjugacy classes of n-braid representatives if and only if it has one admitting an exchange move. We investigate a symmetry pattern of indices of conjugate iterated exchanged braids. We then develop a test based on the Burau matrix showing examples of knots admitting no minimal exchangeable braids, admitting non-minimal non-exchangeable braids, and admitting both minimal exchangeable and minimal non-exchangeable braids. This in particular proves that conjugacy, exchange moves and destabilization do not suffice to simplify braid representatives of a general link. © 2021 World Scientific Publishing Company.

Catheter ablation is one of the most common cardiac ablation procedures for atrial fibrillation, which is mainly based on catheters with electrodes collecting electrophysiology signals. Catheter electrode localization facilitates intraoperative catheter positioning, surgical planning, and other applications such as 3D model reconstruction. In this paper, we propose a novel deep network for automatic electrode localization in an X-ray sequence, which integrates spatiotemporal features between adjacent frames, aided by optical flow maps. To improve the utility and robustness of the proposed method, we first design a saturation-based optical flow dataset construction pipeline, then finetune the optical flow estimation to obtain more realistic and contrasting optical flow maps for electrode localization. The extensive results on clinical-challenging test sequences reveal the effectiveness of our method, with a mean radial error (MRE) of 0.95 mm for radiofrequency catheters and an MRE of 0.71 mm for coronary sinus catheters, outperforming several state-of-the-art landmark detection methods. © 2024 CC-BY 4.0, X. Parallel computing and many-core Network-on-Chip (NoC) technology are increasingly popular to accelerate performance. One way to accomplish this is by simultaneously deploying multiple applications on the NoC. Applications are deployed in NoCs using application mapping, which is considered a critical design process due to its NP-hard nature. The application mapping problem has been addressed in many ways. However, most of the efforts have focused on single application mapping, and only a few multi-application mapping approaches have been developed. This work proposes a multi-application mapping approach based on Artificial Neural Networks (ANN) for mesh NoC. In order to evaluate the mapping strategy, communication costs and CPU run-time are taken into account. Our approach is able to reduce communication costs by 80% or more than the communication cost reported in the *** proposed approach results demonstrated that the proposed approach could solve application mapping problems without high complexity or computational cost. In future works, the proposed approach will be integrated with a reconfigurable approach for solving multi-application problems with better performance parameters. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

The rapid expansion of geospatial data analysis has led to an increasing need for systems that can respond quickly. Storing and analyzing extensive spatiotemporal datasets is crucial for extracting valuable information for location-aware applications like route planning and weather forecasts. Efficiently coordinating data sources and internet services is crucial for extracting results within time constraints, given the current surge in processing geographic searches. Privacy models that incorporate fog computing provide a significant advantage in terms of cost reduction and low latency. However, in order to address consumers' concerns about data exposure, recent efforts have been made to integrate fog computing for enhanced privacy. Through the use of simulated outcomes, it has been shown that the privacy protection offered by the Geo-Fog framework for localization services is highly effective. The system demonstrated average latency values as low as 23 ms for query loads of 200. Furthermore, the CPU usage remained below $37 \%$ even under the maximum query load of $\mathbf{5 0 0}$. Fog computing plays a crucial role in the advancement of location-based applications that prioritize efficiency and privacy. By enabling fog devices or servers to handle geospatial queries within the geographic environment, it ensures optimal management.

Frequent usage of complex expressions with numbers and of the terms that require domain knowledge makes it more difficult to comprehend and summarize financial news articles than that of other daily news articles. We present a transformer-based model for the automatic summarization of the financial news articles in Korean and address related issues, and in particular analyze the interplay between the domain of the dataset used for pre-training and that for fine-tuning. We find that the summarization model performs much better when the two coincide, even when they are different from that of the target task, which is the financial domain in our work. © Proceedings of the 35th Pacific Asia Conference on Language, Information and Computation, PACLIC 2021.

Many web services are often latency-sensitive, have high network capabilities, and have computing resource limitations, as demonstrated by deep neural network (DNN) model-based web applications. In this work, a DNN model-based web application providing visual cognitive services is implemented and explored to address latency-sensitive problems, taking into account the broad practicability and importance of web object recognition tasks in intelligent applications and modern systems. We propose a collaborative architecture of enduser, edge server, and cloud server, employing a binary offloading strategy to reduce the upload rate of images while ensuring good detection performance, thereby reducing the response time. Detection scenario-oriented data augmentation is carried out on the dataset to improve detection accuracy. Finally, we compare the performance of the proposed approach with traditional object recognition services running entirely on the cloud. The experimental results show that the detection scenariooriented strategy significantly improves the detection accuracy of fine-trained YOLOv5 models on the PASCAL VOC 2012 dataset. Compared with the traditional cloud-based architecture, the proposed edge-cloud collaboration architecture can detect more objects and reduce response time efficiently.

The idea of a gadget operated by a remote or switch is today considered antiquated. This is the technology of the future. The article presents a novel approach of managing smart appliances with voice commands, which is referred to as Voice Assisted Smart Appliance Control (VASAP). In order to assess the efficacy and performance of the suggested system, it is compared against the traditional GPRS Assisted Smart Appliance Control (GPRSSAC). An Android app requires the user to speak commands. Voice instructions may be recognized and transmitted to the system using this program. These commands are decoded by a receiver and decoder, which then send them over a serial connection to the Arduino controllers. The system's software and hardware are developed in accordance with this plan, and the system's wireless communication technique, which integrates Wi-Fi and RF (radio frequency), is also established. The systems functional needs inform the design of two sets of control schemes-one for voice control and one for button control-with the goal of making the system more compassionate. For the voice control solution to work, the user must first read out from the smart terminal the control instructions that have been pre-programmed into the system's voice library. Once the recognition is confirmed, the user will be able to command their household appliances. Under the key control scheme, smart terminal keys are used to operate household appliances. In order to collect and store audio, verify family members, and recognize voice commands, the upper computer uses an algorithm that was studied in this study. The lower computer collects environmental information in real-time and wirelessly controls home facilities. Upon startup, family members are asked to confirm their voice commands. Following this, the system uses real-time environmental information and the results of voice command recognition to formulate a control command.
