Underwater imaging is often compromised by light scattering and absorption, resulting in image degradation and distortion. This manifests as blurred details, color shifts, and diminished illumination and contrast, thereby hindering advancements in underwater research. To mitigate these issues, we propose Unformer, an innovative underwater image enhancement (UIE) technique that leverages a transformer-based architecture for multiscale adaptive feature aggregation. Our approach employs a multiscale feature fusion strategy that adaptively restores illumination and detail features. We reevaluate the relationship between convolution and transformer to develop a novel encoder structure. This structure effectively integrates both long-range and short-range dependencies, dynamically combines local and global features, and constructs a comprehensive global context. Furthermore, we propose a unique multibranch decoder architecture that enhances and efficiently extracts spatial context information through the transformer module. Extensive experiments on three datasets demonstrate that our proposed method outperforms other techniques in both subjective and objective evaluations. Compared with the latest methods, Unformer has improved the peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR) by 19.5% and 14.8% respectively on the LSUI and EUVP datasets. Improving aircraft nose wheel steering stability based on control continuation method

In this work,we realized a room-temperature nitrogen dioxide(NO_(2))gas sensor based on a platinum(Pt)-loaded nanoporous gallium nitride(NP-GaN)sensing material using the thermal reduction method and coreduction with the catalysis of *** gas sensor gained excellent sensitivity to NO_(2) at a concentration range of 200 ppm to 100 ppb,benefiting from the loading of Pt nanoparticles,and exhibited a short response time(22 s)and recovery time(170 s)to 100 ppm of NO_(2) at room temperature with excellent selectivity to NO_(2) compared with other *** phenomenon was attributed to the spillover effect and the synergic electronic interaction with semiconductor materials of Pt,which not only provided more electrons for the adsorption of NO_(2) molecules but also occupied effective sites,causing poor sites for other *** low detection limit of Pt/NP-GaN was 100 ppb,and the gas sensor still had a fast response 70 d after ***,the gas-sensing mechanism of the gas sensor was further elaborated to determine the reason leading to its improved *** significant spillover impact and oxygen dissociation of Pt provided advantages to its synergic electronic interaction with semiconductor materials,leading to the improvement of the gas properties of gas sensors.

Adaptive Fuzzy Secure Containment control for Fully Heterogeneous Nonlinear Systems Under Switching Topologies and DoS Attacks

This article proposes a novel fuzzy secure containment control strategy in an adaptive framework for fully heterogeneous nonlinear multiagent systems (FHNMASs), which can resist the combined impacts of randomly switching topologies and denial-of-service (DoS) attacks. Unlike existing containment control protocols that rely on multiple leaders sharing the same system matrices, our approach is applicable to more general systems, where multiple leaders and followers are allowed to be equipped with nonidentical system matrices and even state dimensions. The switching signal of communication graphs is regulated by the random Markov process, and the connectivity assumption is relaxed by merely requiring the union graph of possible subgraphs to be connected. First, new adaptive observers are constructed that can observe leaders' states without access to global topology information, even under randomly switching topologies and DoS attacks. Second, based on fuzzy logic systems and output regulation methods, fuzzy system state estimators are introduced to address challenges associated with unknown nonlinear functions and unmeasurable states of followers. Further, a new fuzzy controller is developed to guarantee the achievement of flexible secure output containment, where containment coefficients no longer depend on the Laplacian matrix and can be flexibly preset to accommodate various tasks. Finally, the theoretical algorithm is validated through simulation results. © 1993-2012 IEEE.

Poly(butylene adipate-terephthalate)(PBAT),as one of the most common and promising biodegradable plastics,has been widely used in agriculture,packaging,and other industries due to its strong biodegradability *** is well known that PBAT suffers a series of natural weathering,mechanical wear,hydrolysis,photochemical transformation,and other abiotic degradation processes before being ***,it is particularly important to understand the role of abiotic degradation in the life cycle of *** the abiotic degradation of PBAT has not been systematically summarized,this review aims to summarize the mechanisms and main factors of the three major abiotic degradation pathways(hydrolysis,photochemical transformation,and thermochemical degradation)of *** was found that all of them preferentially destroy the chemical bonds with higher energy(especially C-O and C=O)of PBAT,which eventually leads to the shortening of the polymer chain and then leads to reduction in molecular *** main factors affecting these abiotic degradations are closely related to the energy or PBAT *** findings provide important theoretical and practical guidance for identifying effective methods for PBAT waste management and proposing advanced schemes to regulate the degradation rate of PBAT.

To develop ZrNb alloys with excellent surface properties, phase composition, microstructure evolution, and friction and wear properties of Zr oxide ceramic layers prepared by equilibrium and non-equilibrium techniques were investigated. Non-oxidized samples prepared with same heat treatment process were used as control group. Optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, and X-photoelectron spectroscopy were employed to further investigate and establish relationships between processing, structure, and properties. There was apparent oxygen-rich diffusion zone between in-situ synthesized Zr-based oxide ceramic layer and ZrNb substrate. High residual stress, fine-grained microstructure due to insufficient growth, and high diffusion rate of elements near oxide/metal interface at 1000 °C resulted in high content of t-ZrO2 in non-equilibrium aqueous oxidation sample. Furthermore, the composition of equilibrium thermal oxidation samples was dominated by m-ZrO2, exhibiting the highest nano-hardness (>14 GPa) and the lowest wear rate (3.40 × 10−8 mm3/N·m). Friction and wear behavior of samples under different surface conditions was investigated. Lastly, stability mechanism of metastable oxide phases and growth mechanism of Zr-based oxides were analyzed and discussed in depth. © 2025 Elsevier Ltd and Techna Group S.r.l.

Uncertainty-aware Deep Reinforcement Learning for Trainable Equivalent Consumption Minimization Strategy of Fuel Cell Hybrid Electric Tracked Vehicle

Energy management strategies (EMSs) are pivotal in optimizing energy efficiency for vehicles equipped with hybrid electric powertrains. Despite the growing adoption of deep reinforcement learning (DRL)-based approaches, challenges persist in achieving satisfactory optimization performance and maintaining reliable control. Motivated by this, this paper introduces a novel trainable equivalent consumption minimization strategy (ECMS) framework for fuel cell hybrid electric tracked vehicles (FCHETVs) with uncertainty-aware control. Firstly, the proposed framework employs a DRL algorithm to dynamically determine and optimize the equivalent factor in the ECMS method, facilitating improved fuel economy. Then, the soft actor-critic (SAC) algorithm is formulated for efficient policy learning. To further enhance control reliability, an ensembled policy network method is incorporated to measure uncertainty and mitigate suboptimal actions, thereby improving decision-making robustness. Simulation results reveal that the SAC-based trainable ECMS achieves significant fuel economy improvements, outperforming the traditional SAC and adaptive ECMS methods by 2.93% and 5.15% respectively. Moreover, the ensemble model ensures reliable and effective control, with online testing results indicating an additional 2.08% improvement in fuel economy. These findings underscore the effectiveness of integrating learning-based and optimization-based approaches in EMS design, offering a robust pathway to reducing energy consumption and promoting sustainable transportation solutions. © 2015 IEEE.

In this study, incompressible flow fields around a NACA0012 airfoil were numerically simulated at low Reynolds number for a Mars environment. For mesh generation, the standard Open FOAM utilities block Mesh and snappy HexMesh were used. Using those meshes and pisoFoam, which is PISO method-based analysis solver, NASA wind tunnel test conditions were numerically simulated in the Earth environment and obtained a similar lift gradient as in the experiment up to the stall. Then, the flow field of 12,000 Reynolds number, which simulates the Martian environment, was calculated. The variation of lift coefficient with increasing angle of attack was almost consistent with the experimental value in the Earth environment, and the stall angle was 16°. From the results of pressure distribution on the wing surface, it is suggested that compared to the Earth environment, the separation point movesfrom the leading edge to aft of the wing upper surface in the Martian environment. The flow field at the stall angle was similar to that of the Earth environment, and vortices were formed, however, their velocity vectors were very small, and dead water regions were observed near the trailing edge of the wing upper surface. More detailed aerodynamic characteristics should be clarified by evaluating the results using drag and moment coefficients until the SciTech Forum 2025. © 2025, American institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics Inc, AIAA.
