Bluetooth technology, which facilitates wireless communication between Billions of devices including smartphones, tablets, laptops, and Internet of Thing (IoT) devices, is a cornerstone of modern connectivity. Its importance lies in its ability to enable seamless data exchange and interaction across a wide range of applications, from personal gadgets to complex industrial systems. Despite its widespread adoption, Bluetooth is not immune to critical security vulnerabilities. Issues like Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) vulnerabilities and denial-of-service (DoS) attacks can overwhelm devices with excessive traffic, while BLE Forced Connection can lead to unauthorized access, and eavesdropping exposes sensitive data being exchanged. We have discussed these vulnerabilities in detail, examining their mechanisms, potential impacts, and various implementation aspects. Additionally, we have added demonstrations to illustrate how these attacks can be executed and the potential consequences. To prevent these threats, we explored essential measures, including regular firmware updates, secure pairing protocols, and careful management of Bluetooth settings. Adopting best practices like disabling Bluetooth when not in use and monitoring connected devices can further enhance security, ensuring the reliable and safe operation of the vast and growing ecosystem of Bluetooth-enabled devices.

We present an annotation tool designed to collect fine-grain continuous emotion ground truth labels and physiological responses as users watch different videos. In the existing literature, continuous emotion annotations are typically collected as self-reports based on the 2D Circumplex model through auxiliary devices (a joystick or similar tools) during video consumption. However, the users face challenges as they need to use an auxiliary device and rely on the Circumplex model's valence and arousal axis without clear indication of distinct emotion labels. Therefore, to overcome these challenges, we introduce PResCon, a tool that allows to collect emotion annotations using keyboard arrow keys only (without using any auxiliary device) and guiding users towards the discrete emotions (e.g., amused, stressed, bored, relaxed) by embedding them on the Circumplex plane. The tool encompasses two major components - (a) a web interface that displays various stimuli videos and provision of collecting emotion labels (valence and arousal) by moving the keyboard arrow keys and (b) a sensor setup (based on Arduino) that allows to collect the physiological responses (heart rate and galvanic skin response) passively during video consumption. In summary, the PResCon tool facilitates research in the domain of affective computing by allowing to collect fine-grain continuous emotion annotations and the physiological responses in real-time during video consumption. © 2025 IEEE.

Underwater wireless sensor networks(UWSNs)rely on data aggregation to streamline routing operations by merging information at intermediate nodes before transmitting it to the ***,many existing data aggregation techniques are designed exclusively for static networks and fail to reflect the dynamic nature of underwater ***,conventional multi-hop data gathering techniques often lead to energy depletion problems near the sink,commonly known as the energy hole ***,cluster-based aggregation methods face significant challenges such as cluster head(CH)failures and collisions within clusters that degrade overall network *** address these limitations,this paper introduces an innovative framework,the Cluster-based Data Aggregation using Fuzzy Decision Model(CDAFDM),tailored for mobile *** proposed method has four main phases:clustering,CH selection,data aggregation,and *** CH selection,a fuzzy decision model is utilized to ensure efficient cluster head selection based on parameters such as residual energy,distance to the sink,and data delivery likelihood,enhancing network stability and energy *** the aggregation phase,CHs transmit a single,consolidated set of non-redundant data to the base station(BS),thereby reducing data duplication and saving *** adapt to the changing network topology,the re-clustering phase periodically updates cluster formations and reselects *** results show that CDAFDM outperforms current protocols such as CAPTAIN(Collection Algorithm for underwater oPTical-AcoustIc sensor Networks),EDDG(Event-Driven Data Gathering),and DCBMEC(Data Collection Based on Mobile Edge Computing)with a packet delivery ratio increase of up to 4%,an energy consumption reduction of 18%,and a data collection latency reduction of 52%.These findings highlight the framework’s potential for reliable and energy-efficient data aggregation mobile UWSNs.

In an era where Intelligent Decision Support systems (IDSS) are integral to managing the vast data from Internet of Everything (IoE) systems, this study introduces IDSDeep-CCD, a novel IDSS approach for detecting concrete cracks, a critical issue in civil infrastructure maintenance. Traditional visual inspection methods for crack detection are time-consuming and error-prone. To address this, IDSDeep-CCD employs deep learning, utilizing an open-source dataset of concrete crack images for enhanced accuracy. The system's two-stage approach, featuring feature extraction via pre-trained models and a fully connected network for classification, significantly outperforms existing methods. Our results demonstrate a remarkable 99.9% accuracy rate in crack detection without data augmentation, marking a notable advancement in automatic detection technology. This breakthrough offers practical benefits for the industry by enabling more precise and efficient identification of concrete cracks, paving the way for timely and accurate remedial actions. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2024.

With the popularization of UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles) in surveillance, delivery services, environmental monitoring, and increasingly other operational aspects, besides the need to take off and land, efficient traffic management becomes integral for assuring and securing further development and exploitation. Most of the existing traffic management systems for UAVs depend on traditional rule-based algorithms or simpler machine learning techniques, such as DQN or PPO. However, these systems also have enormous challenges: dynamic environments, high-density traffic, and robust decision-making over unpredictable weather and network conditions. In addition, the above traditional models usually experience difficulties in balancing exploration and exploitation, leading to suboptimal routing and enlarged collision risks in complicated urban airspaces. These challenges have driven us to develop a new proposal: a UA V traffic management framework based on Double Deep Q-Network (DDQN) combined with Instruction-Based Learning. In this approach, advanced learning for DDQN optimizes processes at decision-making points for UAVs. The model proposed herein, along with comprehensive simulations and quantitative analyses, demonstrated higher performance in terms of leadership and cumulative rewards while keeping lower training loss compared to the classical algorithms such as DQN, A3C, and PPO. At the same time, the DDQN model presented a better success rate (95%), as also reflected in the balanced precision-recall curve showing an area under the curve of 0.90, over others in the on-point prediction of UAVstate and safety margin of collision. Our experimental results demonstrate that the proposed DDQN-based framework significantly enhances UA V traffic management by optimizing energy consumption in complex airspaces and reducing the risk of collision. © 2025 IEEE.

Quantum computing is progressing at a fast rate and there is a real threat that classical cryptographic methods can be compromised and therefore impact the security of blockchain networks. All of the ways used to secure blockchain like Rivest–Shamir–Adleman (RSA), Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC) and Secure Hash Algorithm 256-bit (SHA256) are the characteristic of the traditional cryptographic techniques vulnerable to attack by quantum algorithms: Shor’s and Grover’s algorithms: can efficiently break asymmetric encryption and speed up brute force attacks. Because of this vulnerability, there exists a need to develop an advance quantum resilient blockchain framework to protect the decentralized ledgers from the future threats of the quantum. This research proposes Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC), Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) and Quantum Random Number Generation (QRNG) as a formidable architectural integration, to fortify security of blockchain. Classical encryption is replaced with PQC, QKD with secure key exchange by detecting eavesdropping, and QRNG with improving cryptographic randomness to remove the predictable key vulnerability. Only with a small loss of transaction efficiency, we increase transaction encryption accuracy, key exchange security, and resistance to quantum attacks. In this quantum enhanced blockchain design, the idea is to preserve the decentralization, transparency and security and at the same time overcome the future quantum threat. By going through rigorous analysis and comparative evaluation, we demonstrate that the approach saves blockchain networks from the emerging quantum risks to make sure that the decentralized finance, smart contracts and cross chain transactions. © (2025), (science and information Organization). As technology continues to evolve rapidly, cybersecurity has become a critical global concern. The increasing sophistication of cyber threats poses significant risks to individuals, businesses, and governments. To combat these threats, cybersecurity tools play a crucial role in monitoring, detecting, and mitigating security risks in digital environments. These tools ensure data protection, prevent unauthorized access, and safeguard sensitive information. The basis for current digital infrastructure is cloud computing, which allows for scalable, on-demand computational resource access. Data center power consumption, however, has skyrocketed because of demand increases, raising operating costs and their footprint. Traditional workload scheduling algorithms often assign performance and cost priority over energy efficiency. This paper proposes a workload scheduling method utilizing deep reinforcement learning (DRL) that adjusts dynamically according to present cloud situations to ensure optimal energy efficiency without compromising performance. The proposed method utilizes Deep Q-Networks (DQN) to perform feature engineering to identify key workload parameters such as execution time, CPU and memory consumption, and subsequently schedules tasks smartly based on these results. Based on evaluation output, the model brings down the latency to 15 ms and throughput up to 500 tasks/sec with 92% efficiency in load balancing, 95% resource usage, and 97% QoS. The proposed approach yields improved performance in terms of key parameters compared to conventional approaches such as Round Robin, FCFS, and heuristic methods. These findings show how reinforcement learning can significantly enhance the scalability, reliability, and sustainability of cloud environments. Future work will focus on enhancing fault tolerance, incorporating federated learning for decentralized optimization, and testing the model on real-world multi-cloud infrastructures. © (2025), (science and information Organization). Curvilinear Structure segmentation has numerous applications in various fields, including providing a better understanding of defects such as cracks on roads or walls, thereby assessing the structural safety of buildings. Numerous curve segmentation methods based on Convolutional Neural Networks(CNN) have been developed in recent years. However, preserving feature integrity remains a challenge. To address this issue, this paper introduces a double dynamic network, called DD-Net, which consists of a dynamic structure for training and dynamic masking for inference. Firstly, to enhance the nonlinearity of the model, a paradigm to auto-adjust the CNN structure via a trainable module is formed for better fine-grained feature extraction. This dynamic structure (DS) paradigm enables a trade-off to extract or discard the feature data in the model training. Due to the data heterogeneity between the training and inference data, models may contain some useless nodes that are less effective during inference. The dynamic masking (DM) is proposed to omit the useless nodes based on the score difference between the train and inference feature statistics, thereby reducing redundant computations. To further improve the model’s performance on thin-curve segmentation and to preserve feature integrity, we introduce a non-curve suppression (NCS) module. This module focuses on background information while considering foreground prediction to address noisy conditions. The experimental results show that our DD-Net achieves promising results on three benchmark datasets and outperforms state-of-the-art curve segmentation models. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2025.

The need for a personalized user experience brought recommendation systems to the forefront of digital innovation. However, traditional approaches tend to often forget human emotions, which represent a critical driver in decision making. The paper proposes a new framework in which the detection of emotions becomes part of the recommendation system through advanced facial expression analysis and sentiment evaluation. The paper discusses a hybrid architecture combining emotion recognition via CNN and a collaborative filtering technique for dynamic recommendations. The study outcome demonstrated an enormous improvement in user engagement and satisfaction. It further underlines the transformative potential of emotion-aware systems.
