In this paper we propose a Text-To-Text Transfer Transformer-based (T5) model to generate concise, human-like synopses of Merger and Acquisition (M&A) economic news. Leveraging recent advancements in artificial intelligence and natural language processing, we have focused our resources on the creation of a specific summarizer, opting for a translation of all news into English to ensure consistency and mitigate complexity. The implementation of Graphics processing unit (GPU) resources for model training played a crucial role in optimizing the learning process, allowing us to effectively utilize the time window provided by platforms such as Google Colab Pro and Free. Through iterative fine-tuning, our model was trained to generate high-quality, human-like synopses of M&A events. Our findings underscore the enhanced transparency and interpretability of the proposed generative AI-driven text summariser, suggesting promising avenues for future exploration and development in this field. © 2024 IEEE.

Residual Carrying Capacity Evaluation and Parking Orbit Replanning for Lunar Exploration Launch Vehicle

To cope with the potential thrust-drop malfunction of the manned lunar exploration launch vehicle, a parking orbit replanning method is proposed based on the evaluation of the residual carrying capacity of the launcher. By analyzing the constraints of the whole flight profile and the characteristics of the Earth–Moon transfer orbit systematically, the offline trajectory planning algorithm exhibits improved convergence performance, and thus can be used to evaluate the residual carrying capacity as thrust-drop happens. For the situations that the launcher is not capable of injecting the transfer orbit, a sequential orbit/trajectory replanning method is designed to guarantee the safety of the astronauts. On the premise of ensuring the altitude of the parking orbit, the elements about the orbital plane are further optimized to provide a favorable initial state for the subsequent rescue action. Meanwhile, the nonlinearity of the terminal constraints is alleviated by the injection point forecast, and the initial reference is generated by convex optimization method with well convergence;thus, the solving efficiency of the sequential replanning algorithm can be improved. Simulation results show the proposed method can generate the trajectory that transport the spacecraft to the optimal parking orbit under the thrust-drop malfunction situation. The paper presents research on the accuracy of measuring illuminance and chromaticity of airport lamps. The impact of the type of DC and AC power supply on measurement was assessed with the use of electronic sensors. BH1750 and BH1745 type sensors in a microprocessor system with an I2C interface were used for the measurements. A professional luxmeter was used for comparison purposes. Experimental tests were carried out under laboratory conditions for three types of halogen lamps: approach system lamps, runway centerline lamps, and touchdown zone lamps. © 2023 Division of Signal Processing and Electronic systems, Poznan University of Technology (DSPES PUT).

The paper presents an analysis of fast selection of neural network for the purpose of visual analysis of mechanical wear on prism lenses of in-pavement airport navigational lighting systems. This issue is particularly important in terms of aviation safety and navigational lighting control, regulated by EASA and ICAO. The article is the next stage of the development of the system for the vision control of lamps, in which the concept of using a different neural network with an increased data set prepared by the authors is presented. The Deep Network Designer tool included in the Matlab 2022b environment was used. The solution using the GoogLeNet neural network allows for the classification of lamps with an accuracy of 88.37%. © 2023 Division of Signal Processing and Electronic systems, Poznan University of Technology (DSPES PUT).

One of the primary challenges in motor imagery (MI) based brain-computer interfaces (BCIs) is the extensive calibration time required for individual users. This paper systematically reviews and compares various straightforward EEG data augmentation techniques aimed at reducing calibration time and enhancing model performance. We explored several algorithms, including segmentation and recombination in the time-frequency domain using short-time Fourier transform (TFSR), time warping (TW), noise injection (NI), and naïve transfer learning (NTL). Additionally, we introduced a novel algorithm called time instance segment concatenation (TISC), which merges EEG segments from periods immediately before and after the traditional motor imagery segments to capture a broader range of neural dynamics. Our experimental results on the BCI Competition IV dataset 2a indicated that NTL was the top-performing algorithm, achieving average accuracy improvements of 4.9%, 3%, 1.7%, and 3.2% over the baseline model without any data augmentation when 5, 10, 15, and 20 training trials per class were available, respectively. The proposed TISC algorithm showed potential, particularly in scenarios with moderate training trials, e.g., achieving an average accuracy increase of 1.5% over the baseline when 10 training trials per class were available. These findings suggest that TISC could be a useful addition to EEG data augmentation methods to improve the efficiency and usability of MI-based BCIs. © 2024 IEEE.

Autonomous mission reconstruction during the ascending flight of launch vehicles under typical propulsion system failures

In recent years, Chinese Long March(LM) launchers have experienced several launch failures, most of which occurred in their propulsion systems, and this paper studies Autonomous Mission Reconstruction(AMRC) technology to alleviate losses due to these failures. The status of the techniques related to AMRC, including trajectory and mission planning, guidance methods,and fault tolerant technologies, are reviewed, and their features are compared, which reflect the challenges faced by AMRC technology. After a brief introduction about the failure modes of engines that can occur during flight, and the fundamentals of trajectory planning and joint optimization of the target orbit and flight path, an AMRC algorithm is proposed for geostationary transfer orbit launch missions. The algorithm evaluates the residual performance onboard, and plans new objectives and corresponding flight path by iterative guidance mode or segmented state triggered optimization methods in real-time. Three failure scenarios that have occurred during previous LM missions are simulated to check the robustness of the algorithm: imminent explosion risk of the boosters’ engines, thrust drop during the first stage of flight, and being unable to start the engine during the second stage. The payloads would fall from space according to the current design under these conditions, but they were saved with the AMRC algorithm in the simulations, which allowed the rocket to get into the target orbit as intended or the payloads were deployed in other orbits without crashing. Although spaceflight can be very unforgiving, the AMRC algorithm has the potential to avoid the total loss of a launch mission when faced with these kinds of typical failures.

In recent years, wide bandgap semiconductor devices such as silicon carbide (SiC) and gallium nitride (GaN) have been increasingly applied in electric drive systems, effectively enhancing system power density. However, the high-frequency and high-speed characteristics of SiC devices exacerbate electromagnetic interference (EMI) issues within the system. Additionally, the cables in electric drive systems exhibit significant antenna effects, radiating conducted EMI into the surrounding space, thereby affecting the normal operation of other sensitive equipment. Therefore, it is essential to research motor drive system topologies that can actively suppress EMI and predict radiated interference in motor drive systems. The topology of a four-module motor paired with parallel inverters can achieve active suppression of EMI at the source. This paper conducts a simulation-based prediction of radiated interference for a parallel inverter-driven four-module motor system. It analyzes the coupling mechanisms of common mode and differential mode radiated interference and validates the radiated interference from both DC and AC cables through simulations, predicting the impact on surrounding sensitive equipment in practical systems. © 2024 IEEE.

Power electronic switching devices and pulse width modulation (PWM) not only improves the performance of motor drive systems, but also brings about common-mode voltage (CMV) issues, that challenging the normal operation of the system. This article proposes a zero common-mode voltage modulation strategy based on unified voltage modulation for a 60° Y-connected six-phase permanent magnet synchronous motor system driven by a dual three-phase inverter. The theoretical basis and zero common-mode implementation scheme of unified modulation are analyzed, and the effectiveness of the proposed zero common-mode voltage modulation strategy is finally verified through simulation. © 2024 IEEE.

The electromagnetic interference (EMI) problem caused by power electronic switching devices and pulse width modulation (PWM) affects the normal operation of the motor drive system. In this paper, a random PWM based on unified modulation is proposed for permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) drive system. The theoretical basis of unified modulation and the implementation scheme of random modulation are analyzed. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed random PWM is verified by simulation. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper presents an analysis of the effectiveness of blood vessel segmentation in human retinal images. The segmentation process was carried out for three-dimensional optical coherence tomography (OCT) scans using the author's publicly available CAVRI-C database. A 3D version of the U-Net artificial neural network was used. Various dimensions of the input blocks were investigated to determine their influence on the segmentation process. The effectiveness of the proposed solutions was evaluated using various metrics and the results obtained were compared with the 2D solution, also based on neural networks. The use of the proposed solutions allowed us to improve the segmentation even by 15% (in the case of the F1-score). © 2023 Division of Signal Processing and Electronic systems, Poznan University of Technology (DSPES PUT).
