The present paper is devoted to the evaluation of stability analysis of multi-stage separation process (multicomponent distillation) control system based on the tray-by-tray nonlinear dynamic process model. The vector Lyapunov function (LF) jointly with comparison functions (CF) are proposed for the stated problem solution. The overall system of differential equations is decomposed on the subsystems so that the LF for each subsystem can be determined. It was shown that the unforced subsystems of distillation model are unstable. But the stabilizing effect of composite system is reached in a natural way by the interaction among these subsystems. This gives the possibility to formulate stability conditions using CF. The estimation of stability domain for multivariable fixed-structure composition (temperature) controller for two-product industrial distillation column is given as illustrative example.

The paper presents the tuning method of digital PID-controllers based on the solution of parametric optimization problem under uncertain process model and given power spectrum densities (PSD) of stochastic disturbance and set point signals. The new approach for determination of set of stabilizing PID values is issued. It was used in the optimization procedure in order to check closed loop stability conditions during the search iterations.

Work is devoted of development of predictive method of trajectory planning of a vectored thruster underwater vehicle. The specified underwater vehicle has the limited manoeuvrability, therefore for more effective performance of underwater works it is necessary to know in advance orientation from which it is necessary to arrive in a target point. This problem is solved by means of a neural network which predicts possible position of the next target point. As a result, using the received information, it is possible so to plan a movement trajectory, that the vectored thruster underwater vehicle can move on more difficult spatial trajectories with higher speed.

Composition, electron density and morphology of metal thin-film nanophases were studied by AES, EELS, AFM and conductivity measurements during MBE deposition of Fe and Co on Si(100) and (111), respectively. AES data demonstrated a layer by layer growth of Fe with a segregation of submonolayer coverage of Si at T = 20 °C and, after annealing at T = 250 °C, a fixed and increased value of the Si-to-Fe Auger-peak ratio in the ranges of d = 0.03−0.12 or 1.2 nm and 0.3−0.6 nm, respectively. EELS spectra indicated a redistribution of valence electrons at the Fe/ Si(100) interface at d = 0.03−0.12 nm. With further increase of Fe thickness, EELS spectra showed transitions to Fe nanophases with lowered concentration of valence electrons near d = 0.12−0.3 nm and d = 0.6−1.2 nm. After annealing AFM images showed the relief stability of stepped Si(100) surface in the range of d = 0.03−0.3 nm, the disappearance of the stepped relief type after 0.3 nm and formation ridge-like islands in Fe film at d = 1.2 nm. Auger peak intensity and conductivity versus the thickness for nanophases of Co on Si(111) showed variations of growth mechanism in accordance with variations of interface layer state.
