In the present paper the numerical approach for simulating the filtration combustion of axisymmetric porous object is considered. The combustion of porous media is widely used in various natural or technological processes. The proposed numerical method is based on the combination of explicit and implicit finite-difference schemes. The parallelization performance study was carried out for various grid steps. It is shown that parallelization is effective for fine grids, but on coarse grids the use of the parallel algorithm does not lead to a significant acceleration of computations. For different grids, the number of threads is determined, the use of which leads to the maximum speedup of the parallel program. The proposed parallelization makes it possible to speed up the calculation when modeling filtration combustion of various porous media, including metal-containing ones.

Here, we showed formation of chiral nanoprotrusions upon direct laser ablation of bulk crystalline silicon (c-Si) wafer with single femtosecond (fs) pulses having asymmetric donut-shaped intensity profile. Breaking circular symmetry of the irradiating donut-shaped fs-pulse beam was demonstrated to switch the geometry of formed surface nanoprotrusions from regular to chiral, while the chirality of the obtained Si nanostructures was found to promote with a degree of asymmetry of the laser beam. The obtained experimental results explain, for the first time, the formation of previously reported chiral c-Si nanostructures produced via donut-shaped beam ablation in terms of uneven helical flow of laser-melted Si material caused by asymmetry of initial intensity and temperature pattern on laser-irradiated Si surface. Our findings open a pathway towards easy-to-implement inexpensive fabrication of chiral all-dielectric nanostructures for advanced nanophotonic applications. © 2020 Trans Tech Publications Ltd, Switzerland.

Following a recently manifested guide of how to team up infrared transparency and high electrical conductivity within semimetal materials [C. Cui et al. Prog. Mater. Sci. 2023, 136, 101112], we evaluate an applicability of the calcium digermanide (CaGe 2) thin film electrodes for the advanced Ge-based optical devices. Rigorous growth experiments were conducted to define the optimal annealing treatment and thickness of the Ca-Ge mixture for producing stable CaGe 2 layers with high figure of merit (FOM) as transparent conducting material. Ab-initio electronic band structure calculations and optical modeling confirmed CaGe 2 semimetal nature, which is responsible for a demonstrated high FOM. To test CaGe 2 electrodes under actual conditions, a planar Ge photodetector (PD) with metal-semiconductor-metal structure was fabricated, where CaGe 2 /Ge interface acts as Schottky barrier. The resulting Ge PD with semimetal electrodes outperformed commercially available Ge devices in terms of both photoresponse magnitude and operated spectral range. Moreover, by using femtosecond-laser projection lithography, a mesh CaGe 2 electrode with the relative broadband transmittance of 90% and sheet resistance of 20 Ω /sq. was demonstrated, which further enhanced Ge PD photoresponse. Thus, obtained results suggest that CaGe 2 thin films have a great potential in numerous applications promoting the era of advanced Ge optoelectronics. © 2023, CC BY.

On improved model of solid porous fuel gasification in low-temperature gas generator for flying vehicle

An improved mathematical model of solid porous fuel gasification in a combined charge of a low-temperature gas generator has been developed. For taking into account the change in the molar mass of the gas, a differential equation has been added to the model for determining the density of the gas that arising from solid fuel as a result of the gasification process. This allows one to determine the amount of gasification products and to accurately calculate the molar mass of the gas mixture at each point of the gas generator at each time. Calculations carried out using the refined model have shown that taking into account the change in molar mass of the gas can lead to significant changes in some of the unknown functions, such as the gas velocity and density. At the same time, the velocity of the gasification wave propagation changes very insignificantly. Thus, taking into account the change in molar mass of the gas has little effect on the estimation of the maximum operating time of the propulsion system.

The paper considers a new approach to the joint control of two mobile robots. Both are equipped with vision systems, and one of them also with a multi-link manipulator. The created control system provides automatic execution of manipulation operations with various objects when the work object is out of the visibility zone of the mobile robot with manipulator. In this case the position of this object is determined by the vision system of the auxiliary robot. © 2019 IEEE.

It allows any Internet user to research, load and use data for researches and the educational purposes. The standards of metadata and protocols can be used further for integration of data SGM ras into the Russian and world networks of natural science museum data. Au-induced reconstructions of the Si(111) surface with ordered and disordered domain walls

Scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) and angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy (ARPES) observations combined with the density functional theory (DFT) calculations were used to elucidate atomic arrangement of Au/Si(111) reconstructions forming at Au coverage around one monolayer. They include the Si(111)6×6-Au with ordered domain walls, the Si(111)α−3×3-Au and the Si(111)β−3×3-Au surfaces with disordered domain walls of various density, and the Si(111)221×221-Au surface which structure is relevant to those of other reconstructions, albeit cannot be ascribed solely to the domain walls. Using detailed comparison of the STM and ARPES data with the results of DFT calculations, we explicitly proved the atomic model of Si(111)6×6-Au surface proposed by Grozea et al. [Surf. Sci. 418, 32 (1998)]. This model provided us a hint for constructing an atomic model of domain walls which demonstrates a proper coincidence between experimental and simulated STM images. The model contains five Au atoms per 2×3 unit cell, i.e., 1.25 monolayers of Au. For the α−3×3-Au and β−3×3-Au surfaces, this finding allows an overall description of their atomic arrangement and, hence, accurate determination of their Au coverages. Knowledge on the atomic arrangement of the Si(111)6×6-Au surface and domain walls also allowed us to construct an atomic model of the Si(111)221×221-Au surface. The obtained data were unified in the refined formation phase diagram for the Au/Si(111) system.

Method of identification of kinematic and elastostatic parameters of multilink manipulators without external measuring devices

The paper deals with a method of identification of kinematic and elastostatic parameters of multilink industrial manipulators. This method does not require complex and expensive equipment for high-precision external measurements of position and orientation of the working tool in the Cartesian coordinate system. The method gives simple and cheap means to parameters identification and their implementation allows significantly increase the dynamic accuracy of the movement of working tools of serial manipulators along spatial trajectories during the performance of various technological operations of real production. The simulation is considered.

The paper considers a universal approach to the design and implementation of information control systems (ICS) that use a human-machine interface for interaction with automatic control systems (ACS) of robotic manipulators. The proposed approach allows you to create and edit control program of manipulator's movements, as well as to simulate its execution regardless of the hardware implementation of the control object. It is assumed that the system implemented in accordance with this approach can be implemented in the control of various industrial robotic manipulators and is considered as a highly effective alternative to the common control tools for manipulators and their working tools, thus representing a universal control panel for robotic complexes. Moreover, the use of such a universal remote control can occur autonomously from existing robots, this is significant advantage over popular alternatives. An example and effectiveness of such an implementation are considered.
