The traffic data are heterogeneous, distributed, which makes traffic data management much more difficult. Since it is becoming more and more important and imperative to manage traffic data nowadays, in this paper, a distributed architecture in accordance with CORBA is designed to realize traffic data interchange. XML is used to provide a uniform description of traffic data. A universal approach is supplied to clear up the heterogeneity of traffic data. The integration of traffic data description and distributed architecture comes true by using the mapping between XML document and CORBA IDL. Finally, this paper puts forward an architecture for the management of traffic data with three-layer structure by integrating XML and CORBA and presents a case study of this architecture called information query system for Beijing Public Transportation.

This paper presents an algorithm for finding pattern of non-synchronous time series. On the basis of two sets of strings, which are produced by symbol representation of time series, using genetic algorithm, a pattern can be obtained that distinguishes sets of strings completely. For video serial images, the main objective of moving segmentation is to segment and extract representative body from the images. In order to extract the moving object better, the method of making difference between the current frame and the background is presented. Extraction of the stable background is the key problem of this algorithm. A new method to extract the background is presented. By using the gray characters of the video images, a good background can be extracted from the former N frames. Then use the Surendra algorithm to update the background according to the current frame. Finally a stable background can be extracted. When the background is extracted, the difference between current frame and background can be made. After some processes on the difference image, the moving object can be extracted accurately.
