The chaotic characteristic of water ratio and oil output was determined with Lyapunov exponent in the situation of polymer flooding, the chaotic attractors in phase spaces were reconstructed, and space embed dimension was calculated, the chaotic neural network model was established. Finally, a new prediction method of water ratio and oil output was formed. Training process indicates the method has powerful approaching ability, classing ability and convergence. Actual experiment results verify validity and veracity of this method.

The essence of this work is development of a sensor that would extract the information about the presence of Downey Mildew disease, in its primitive stage, within the Grape crop standing in the field. This is done by using image process technology, color features of the Grape and the Downey Mildew disease analysis. The analysis of the data obtained from the Grapevine showed that the color set for thie Downey Mildew disease for the Grape is clearly distinct so the disease can directly be detected from the Grapevine. The experiment showed that the disease could be identified accurately at the time of its emergence hence it can be controlled easily. The output regarding the intensity of the Downey Mildew disease cam be obtained from the analysis.

This paper considers the problem of stochastic stability and H/sub /spl infin// control for time-delay systems with randomly Markovian jumping parameters. A new approach is proposed to analyze the delay-dependent condition on the stochastic stability by the stochastic Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional approach. It is shown that this new stochastic stability condition combines the so-called delay-independent and delay-dependent conditions. The H/sub /spl infin// disturbance attenuation problem of the systems is also addressed. A numerical example illustrates the effectiveness of the proposed approach, and the conservativeness is compared with existing results.

We have developed a mathematical model of the AT1 mediated pathways including activation of PLC, PKC, IPS, and channel mediated variation of the cytosolic Ca2+ level after Angiotensin II stimulation. Different Ca2+ responses and the respective time courses of activated PKC and Ca2+ dependent proteins, e.g. CaMKII are described in the model. The obtained simulation results are in good agreement with the measurement data found in literature. For example, the model describes the state-dependent exposure to Angll: increase in Ca2+ at low baseline Ca2+ levels as well as the decrease in Ca2+ at high (chronic activated) baseline. Additionally, simulation studies revealed that variations in the Na-Ca-exchanger transport characteristics could account for the observed cell-to-cell variability. Additional pathways were included in the model, e.g. MAPK, thus enabling the description of relevant transcription factor patterns. Also a Hodgkin-Huxley model approach is used to investigate the function of cell signaling in altering the firing behavior of NTS neurons in response to various baroreceptor stimuli.

This study is an effort to give a practical solution in the problem of optimizing the structure of the Hierarchical Mixture of Experts model, which is a natural extension of the Associative Gaussian Mixture of Experts system. We present two novel methods for optimizing such structures using Genetic Algorithms. Special concern is taken for reducing the computational time so as to efficiently allow the structure to "grow" while it evolves with the Genetic Algorithm. The main contribution of the paper lies on the efficient, topologically oriented, representations of such architectures so as to be optimized through involving genetic algorithms.

The pressure vessel is a kind of special equipments in the modern industry. It is important to measure the pressure in the vessel because of its working conditions. It has been proved that the change of ultrasonic velocity can be used to detect the stress information of the material. In this paper a new method based on the Rayleigh wave for nondestructively measuring the pressure is presented. The relationship between the velocity changes and the pressure is established for the low and middle pressure vessel. Considering velocity can not be measured directly, the relationship between the transit time difference and the pressure is deduced with the strain modified. The experimental data using wedge probes show that the model can predict the relationship between the transit time difference and the pressure accurately, and the method to measure pressure using Rayleigh wave is feasible.

A new phase deviation signal detecting method based on signal capture technology is presented to deal with the signals of double u-shaped Coriolis mass flow meter. By using the method, MCU (micro control unit) can get the whole oscillating information of the flow sensor, including normal phase deviation signal being proportional to mass flow rate and signal draft caused by noises. MCU can easily identify and delete the combined interfering signals by a simple algorithm in the software. And it can improve the anti-jamming ability and measurement accuracy. The method was implemented by using high performance MSP430F149 MCU of the Texas Instrument company. This simplified the hardware system of the signal processing board and reduced the price and energy consumption greatly.
