This paper is devoted to stability analysis and synthesis of the linear systems with time-varying delays. Some new stability conditions are developed for the systems based on Lyapunov-Razumikhin theorem. Then a design method for the general state feedback controllers is proposed for the systems with multiple delays by the LMI optimization based approach. Numerical examples are used to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed design technique.

Thin paper presents a new algorithm for blind source separation (BSS) by exploiting phase and frequency redundancy of cyclostationary signals in a complementary way. The separation criterion is to diagonalize a polynomial matrix whose coefficient matrices consist of the correlation and cyclic correlation matrices of multiple measurements. Computer simulation results illustrate, the performance of the new algorithm in comparison with some existing algorithms.

Force control of a robot manipulator is important for the robot to perform physical interaction with its manipulated objects as well as its environment. Usually, the environmental dynamics is unknown and during interactions the environmental dynamics will influence the robot's control loop. In this research, based on the fact that the transfer functions from the robot's control torque to the environmental reaction force is biproper, a novel 2 degree of freedom adaptive control approach is presented and is applied for the explicit force control of the robot manipulator. In this approach, both force feedback and feedforward controllers are involved in the robot's controlsystem, the feedback control is set as constant while the feedforward controller is adjusted adaptively online to approach the inverse of the force control transfer function. Using this approach, exact force response without any loop delay can be realized. Computer simulations show the effectiveness of this control approach

Magnetically controlled shape memory (MSM) materials are a new way to produce motion and force. The material changes shape in a magnetic field. Shape changes are even 10 percent and response time is less than a millisecond. Usual applications of the material are actuators that produce linear motion. In this paper the magnetic controlled properties of MSM material, the operation principle, design and control method of an inchworm type linear MSM motor are introduced. Although many approaches for iris recognition have been proposed in the last few years, few of them can perfect well in various image qualities. A novel method for iris recognition based on feature fusion is presented. Global and local iris features are extracted to improve the robustness of iris recognition for the various image quality. To represent the iris pattern efficiently, the global features are obtained from the 2D log Gabor wavelet filter and the local features are fused to complete the iris recognition. The weighting Euclidean distance and the Hamming distance are applied to match and classify. In addition, the thresholds are set up to reduce the computation time of match, and to increase robust iris recognition. Experimental results that confirm the benefits of using the proposed method are reported.

The nonlinear off-line model of the controlled plant is built by LS-SVM with radial basis function (RBF) kernel.
