China, India, and the United States consume the most energy and emit the most CO2. According to ***, India's CO2 emission is 1.80 tnes per capita, which is harmful to living beings: hence, this study exhibits India's harmful CO2 emission effect and forecasts CO2 emission for the next ten years using univariate time-series data from 1980 to 2019. A multilayer perceptron is used in this study to analyse 2099 experimental data of binary systems made up of CO2 and ionic liquids and predict solubility. 33 different types of ionic liquids are represented in the dataset, which spans a wide variety of solubilities, pressures, and temperatures. In recent decades, greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions have caused air pollution and environmental problems in several countries. A precise prediction is essential for managing and planning for the decrease of greenhouse gas emissions. Furthermore, the Modified Coyote Optimization Algorithm was used to extract required properties. The empirical data revealed that predictions obtained from Multi-Layer Perceptron's Neural Network (MPNN) were more accurate than those derived from other models. The MPNN-MCOA identified a link between CO2 emissions, economic growth, and entrepreneurship. Government, personal liberty, education, and pollution all have a negative correlation. We conclude by emphasising the critical role of machine learning in achieving carbon neutrality, from global-scale energy management to the revolutionary potential of atomic-scale MPNN-MCOA simulations for application development. As a result, one of the most reliable approaches for estimating greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from agricultural regions and companies was recommended: the MPNN-MCOA model. We demonstrate the stabilization of an optical frequency comb(OFC) using a segment of fiber delay line as a reference. A mode-locked Er-doped fiber laser is phase locked to a kilometer-long fiber delay line using three different schemes. The short-term stability of the comb modes in the OFC stabilized by these schemes is obviously enhanced, down to the 10;level at millisecond average time. Among these three schemes, phase locking two bunches of comb modes in the OFC to the same fiber delay line exhibits the lowest residual phase noise. Fiber-delay-line-referenced OFCs can provide reliable laser sources in precise metrology owing to the advances of low cost, compactness, and high integration.

The growing demand for location-based services in areas like virtual reality, robot control, and navigation has intensified the focus on indoor localization. Visible light positioning (VLP), leveraging visible light communications (VLC), becomes a promising indoor positioning technology due to its high accuracy and low cost. This paper provides a comprehensive survey of VLP systems. In particular, since VLC lays the foundation for VLP, we first present a detailed overview of the principles of VLC. Then, we provide an in-depth overview of VLP algorithms. The performance of each positioning algorithm is also compared in terms of various metrics such as accuracy, coverage, and orientation limitation. Beyond the physical layer studies, the network design for a VLP system is also investigated, including multi-access technologies, resource allocation, and light-emitting diode (LED) placements. Next, the applications of the VLP systems are overviewed. Finally, this paper outlines open issues, challenges, and opportunities for the research field. In a nutshell, this paper constitutes the first holistic survey on VLP from state-of-the-art studies to practical uses. Copyright © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

A 800G integrated silicon-photonic transmitter is presented, including a 16-channel photonic integrated chip (PIC) and two electrical chiplets (EICs) that are realized based on an arrayed travelling wave dual-drive Mach-Zehnder modulator (MZM) and two 8-channel CMOS drivers. The proposed multi-channel PIC is fabricated on a high-resistance silicon-on-insulator (SOI) wafer with a 220 nm thick silicon layer and a $\mathbf{2}\ \boldsymbol{\mu} \mathbf{m}$ thick buried oxide (BOX) using the foundry-ready CMOS process, while the drivers are implemented in a standard $\mathbf{65}\mathbf{nm}$ CMOS process. The driver employs a combination of distributed architecture, 2-tap feedforward equalization (FFE) and push-pull output stage, experimentally exhibiting an averaged bandwidth higher than 28.5GHz and a differential swing of 4.0Vpp on $\mathbf{50}\mathbf{\Omega}$ load, respectively. The 50Gb/s electrical eye-diagram is measured with 1.41ps rms-jitter, while the optical extinction ratio (ER) exceeds 3.0dB with 5.35pJ/bit power efficiency.

Smith-Purcell radiation (SPR) occurs when an electron skims above a spatial grating, but the fixed momentum compensation from the static grating imposes limitations on the emission wavelength. It has been discovered that a temporally periodic system can provide energy compensation to generate light emissions in free space. Here, we introduce temporal SPR (t-SPR) emerging from a time grating and propose a generalized t-SPR dispersion equation to predict the relationship between radiation frequency, direction, electron velocity, modulation period, and harmonic orders. Compared to conventional SPR, t-SPR can: 1) Provide a versatile platform for manipulating SPR emission through temporal modulation (e.g., period, amplitude, wave shape). 2) Exhibit strong robustness to the electron-grating separation, alleviating the constraints associated with extreme electron near-field excitation. 3) Introduce additional energy channels through temporal modulation, enhancing and amplifying emission. We propose a machine learning-based approach using a random forest for the fast computation of optimized transport network routing configurations. This paper presents a star-of-star topology for internet-of-things (IoT) networks using mega low-Earth-orbit constellations. The proposed topology enables IoT users to broadcast their sensed data to multiple satellites simultaneously over a shared channel, which is then relayed to the ground station (GS) using amplify-and-forward relaying. The GS coherently combines the signals from multiple satellites using maximal ratio combining. To analyze the performance of the proposed topology in the presence of interference, a comprehensive outage probability (OP) analysis is performed, assuming imperfect channel state information at the GS. The paper employs stochastic geometry to model the random locations of satellites, making the analysis general and independent of any specific constellation. Furthermore, the paper examines successive interference cancellation (SIC) and capture model (CM)-based decoding schemes at the GS to mitigate interference. The average OP for the CM-based scheme and the OP of the best user for the SIC scheme are derived analytically. The paper also presents simplified expressions for the OP under a high signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) assumption, which are utilized to optimize the system parameters for achieving a target OP. The simulation results are consistent with the analytical expressions and provide insights into the impact of various system parameters, such as mask angle, altitude, number of satellites, and decoding order. The findings of this study demonstrate that the proposed topology can effectively leverage the benefits of multiple satellites to achieve the desired OP and enable burst transmissions without coordination among IoT users, making it an attractive choice for satellite-based IoT networks. Agile networks with fast adaptation and reconfiguration capabilities are required for on-demand provisioning of various network services. We propose a new methodical framework for short-time network optimization based on quantum computing (QC) and integer linear program (ILP) models, which has the potential of realizing a real-time network automation. We define methods to map a nearly real-world ILP model for resource provisioning to a quadratic unconstrained binary optimization (QUBO) problem, which is solvable on quantum annealer (QA). We concentrate on the three-node network to evaluate our approach and its obtainable quality of solution using the state-of-the-art quantum annealer D-Wave Advantage™ 5.2/5.3. By studying the annealing process, we find annealing configuration parameters that obtain feasible solutions close to the reference solution generated by the classical ILP-solver CPLEX. Further, we studied the scaling of the network problem and provide estimations on quantum annealer's hardware requirements to enable a proper QUBO problem embedding of larger networks. We achieved the QUBO embedding of networks with up to 6 nodes on the D-Wave Advantage™.
